  1. I agree the most interesting expat fans, are not those from the UK, but those who follow the clubs for no geographical reason......I once met a guy at a wedding who was from Norway and he and 3 other Norwiegans travel almost every week to watch Exeter play. I asked the obvious "why Exeter" question and he said he had no real answer, just enjoys it..........takes all sorts.......
  2. I'll look out for another guy wearing a Saints shirt in the chunnel then.......I'm on the 8.20am, so an early start for me ;-)
  3. A very nice lady from the ticket office just called me, saying she is not sure if my tickets would arrive in time to Brussels, so she will send them to Wembley for me to pick up at the ticket office. I know the ticket office get some stick, but they could have been a jobsworth here and just stuck them in the international post and if they did not arrive on time tough luck. So credit to them when its due and thanks. Maybe Markus was still waiting for his as well and getting nervous like me........
  4. Bloody Hell!!!!!!!!!!............I'm in..............after about the 50th attempt on the 01271 number and getting an engaged tone, I was straight through, no waiting!!!! Block 542-547 in the gods with lots of others on here I think...........told me there was only single seats left now.........COME ON!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Bloody hell can't get through on either number and the online service does not work if you are based overseas. Also roaming in Sweden at the moment, so costing me a fortune on my mobile. Interestingly, you can still get Corp Hospitality direct from Wembley at 209 quid a ticket for those minted/desperate enough.........
  6. I honestly did not feel particularly attacked by the first post on this thread from GM and the criticism fairly mild, so a bit surprised at the reaction. Don't really see myself in either group he outlined but for me that’s a fair point to debate as is the point of the forum. For what its worth GM, its true I love living outside the UK, but I love supporting the Saints more. I think when I (rarely) post I try to be balanced. Moving overseas has not changed how I have ever felt about the Saints and I guess that’s the same for most expats. Maybe we feel sometimes the need to wear our club allegiance a bit more, but that’s usually because it helps us to feel rooted from where we came. As such I think your views are off the mark this time, when it comes to your thoughts on expats. I put my location in my username as it was the first thing that came to mind, as many posters on here do, even those in or close to Southampton.
  7. I think we should split this forum into 2 seperate boards, Happy Clappers & Moaners. Neither should be allowed to post on eithers board and you can't kop out, by saying you are in neither camp (too rationale). Declare your camp up front and stick to it (if you want to change, you have to write to the admin of the other board begging them to let you in) This way both sides can then read each others board and laugh with their cohorts at either the naive acceptence of mediocrity or the top yourself depression of the other side, depending on your viewpoint. Who's with me?...........I'm a........um......tricky one this.........no rationale half way house allowed, right?.........go on then lump me in with the Happy Clappers!
  8. Would you really want to take your last FA Cup though? The one you bought through players you could not afford, which ultimately spunked your entire club up the wall? That trophy cost you your club, by all means keep the ones you earned, but not the trojan horse that brought you down.
  9. And that is the rub : Should Pimpley go to the wall and proven to have been illegally trading for sometime then the decision for the FA is clear - Brum get a bye into the semi's. Coventry, Sunderland and ourselves would all have a case to be re-instated and some sort of play-off between the 3 of us is just not feasible. We could just have a 3 way penalty shoot out against David James to decide it.......
  10. Does anyone know if Puncheon took free kicks/corners at MK? I agree there is no way Lambert should be doing this. I actually think AP also knows it, but no one else apart from James has measured up to the task. I'm a huge Morgan fan, but not sure why he has not stepped up to mark on this issue.
  11. It's true, our only tricky away games remaining are Norwich, MK Dons & Bristol. To match the first half we need to get 4 points from that lot. Tough but not impossible. As you say, if we lose to Norwich it looks tougher still, but a point keeps us on track.
  12. Don't worry, I spent at least 30 mins working it out and still not convinced I got it right! 28 points + 10 for the deduction = 38 actual points for 1st half. 38x2 = 76 actual points - 10 (original deduction)= 66
  13. Ok here goes why I have convinced myself its still likely we will make the Playoffs. 1, At the halfway stage of the season we had 28pts. If we replicate the exact same level of results (inc the poor start etc) we will end on 66pts and likely short by 8-10 points 2, Current result for result, team for team, 1st half to 2nd half we are down by 1 point at 6 v 7 however 4 of the 5 games against teams we have played twice have been away from St. Mary's. 3, I estimate we will need to be 10pts better 2nd half than first, thus ending on 76pts to get 6th place. Therefore we now need to better the results against the remaining teams by 11pts 4, We got a total of 1 point from games against Huddersfield, Swindon, Charlton & Leeds, all of which we play at home in the 2nd half of the season. Target these games, win 3, draw 1, giving us 10 of the 11 we need. Get a point against Bristol Rovers away and match all other results (none of which look particularly tricky except Norwich Sat, which we need a point) and we are there. 5, Yes this is clutching at straws.
  14. Thought yesterday showed why we can be proud of our club again. Atmosphere in the stadium was exceptional. Score was a joke as we were the much better side for 75mins. Thought AL, just about shaded it for MOTM from Perry & Ricky, but every Saints player was superb today. the heart in that performance was brilliant. Loved the way we bossed the midfield too and Spider/Hammond should get a lot of credit. Fair play, Pompey are poor.
  15. Leaving home at 5.20am should get back in the evening at about 11.30pm............might include a stop for KFC and a pasty.
  16. I seriously love this forum sometimes....sat here cracking up at work..........from the 2 guys who seem to think the Dalai Lama posts on here, to the guy wanting to tickle NC under the chin (totally agree) to the "if I had 4 billion in the bank and my team had just got to Wembley, I'd be pretty jovial" comment........brilliant.......this thread is comedy gold!
  17. Leaving at 5.30am to catch the Tunnel, really can't wait now. Don't think we will will, just hope we compete.
  18. I would honestly be surprised if anyone who wants a ticket would not be able to get one. 90k is huge. Initial allocations will I guess be about 40k each, Carlisle will probably return 15k, which I guess would then be released to us, meaning 55k in total. Do we really have 55k fans, or am I over simplifying the situation?
  19. hahahah.......I laughed ;-)
  20. You Legends!!! That 01271 number works a treat......Pompy & Swindon booked. I'm off the line now, so someone else will be on.......good luck ;-)
  21. Even from these few replies already posted, its pretty clear there is not one similar fan "view" on this. Whatever is done, is going to upset a pretty large part of the fanbase. In your view then, if you were NC, what would you do? I don't mean regarding the exact seating arrangments, but just to come to a decision? Do you base it on a poll, business rationale, gut feeling etc. More importantly, if NC does consult fans (which he seems to be doing) and chooses an option which you dont like, how would you react?
  22. I'm pretty sure I read they need to find 3 million each month to pay the players. ........... That's quite a lot...........
  23. Sense prevails!!!!! Shocker Great news and agree never saw it coming.
  24. hahahahahah.........exactly what we were all thinking and quite creatively put, to get past the swear filter.......beats all that * stuff every time.
  25. Yes I noticed that too, so fairly likely thats what we'll see. Just watched the preview and the mid season review on Saints player and though its been said before, worth mentioning again that christ Pardew talks a lot of sense. Interesteing to see he also expects we may be most impressed/surprised with how Seabourne turns out
