I think it's more a case of the fans rallying to spur the team on to a. avoid relegation and b. avoid oblivion. There will be a degree of relief about RL's departure, but mostly i feel a sense of excitement about seeing SMS full again and showing prospective buyers that we are a club worth saving.

Not for long they wont...

damn right, i too was unfortunately born in Basingstoke. Although having lived in Cheltenham for almost 8 years i am now "from" Cheltenham.

Maybe he did realise this and was just trying to ease the pressure on the players. They certainly seem to have new found confidence. Hopefully this will quickly turn into a positive cycle of winning and increased support.

Who will you support if Saints go really under ?
s0108787 replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
in the unlikely event that it happens i could not actively support another team. I might go and watch cheltenham now and then as my local team. -
A mate and i spoke to him at the petrol station round the corner from the stadium on Saturday while at the cash point. We asked him what he was doing these days - he replied that he was their for 5 live as he's doing commentary for them. We asked if he fancied the job at SMS, his response was "i wish! Haven't you got a mental chairman though?" To wich we replied yeah a proper f*cking mental one!! He also said unsuprisingly that leaving Plymouth was the worst mistake of his career, he had a good thing going on down there and obviously regretted having gone to Leicester (he didn't have any kind words for Mandaric to be sure!). All in all, he seemed a nice enough bloke, i used to like his column on the BBC website. I was dissapointed with his comments about us thinking we are a big club at the time, but we would love our manager to wind up other clubs with that kind of statement so i don't hold it against him. He is really really small too, couldn't be more than 5"5"- 5"6"- not really worth mentioning, except i was taken aback at just how small he was!

i hear what you're saying and i would consider BWP up front with Saga, but i think McG will benefit a lot from playing with Saga and could well come good. I also think that Schneiderlin would be best off further forward and given the ball by others as he is not a ball winner, i think he could have the attributes of a decent playmaker with an eye for a defence splitting pass. This combined with Lallana's "no show" on saturday is why Schneiderlin would get the nod from me in the AMC role. I would like us to persevere with the 4-1-2-1-2 formation we adopted on Saturday, essentially i's a narrow 4-4-2 diamond and i did like what i saw for the most part.
-
-------Davis James Seijs Perry Surman ------Wotton Gillett--------Euell ----Schneiderlin Saganowski McGoldrick Based on the performances i saw on Saturday, without doubt it should be this line up.

had anyone heard of JPS before he arrived? I've been pleased with what i've seen from him.
-
i was a little dissapointed at first, but got used to not having them quickley. Has there been a reason given for not having them?
-
gillet was my MOTM today, i he constantly harried the swansea players and broke up their play. He made a few wayward passes - but that was only due to the fact that he had so much more of the ball than most of the other players.
