  1. It's his perseverance I most admire, true dedication to the cause over a significant number of years.
  2. Look, we're going to get slaughtered anyway, so rest lemina who is still injured, spare Stephens the pleasure of being on the end of a mauling (his confidence no doubt dented already by Spurs) and try sims out wide right - can't do any worse, can he?

While there are obviously plenty of muppets on here, I think most rational people recognise and appreciate that les has been a fairly significant part of our recent, successful history. Plus there's a fear of who else we might get. Saying that, I think a lot of people are wavering on the edge. The lack of action after the Spurs shambles is remarkable. Either he's a dead man walking, in which case get shot, or les doesn't think he should sack him ... Yet. And that is staggering, everyone can so the players are shot. Les has got a big couple of weeks IMHO. No further forward and I'd imagine the poll would be a lot more one sided.
  4. I'm hoping it's the German keeper frozen out at psg
  5. Thanks, both interesting and concerning.
  6. Don't worry, he'll be following coutinho to barca before long. Celtic are our feeder club, we're liverpools, and they're barca's
  7. Actually scrub that, bale has a bad injury record, would be most disappointed with him.
  8. Bale to be whelmed, Ronaldo to be overwhelmed.
  9. Which one of our goal machines is going to do that? The injured one, or one of the two who can't score?
  10. I see what you've done there Truth is, he wasn't right for us, the football was turgid and I'd suggest the current malaise set in last season, as did the trend of our coaching making players worse. The real issue is not why we got rid of cp, it's why we've ended up with mope. IMHO
  11. Yep, as it stands today I'd be amazed if we make it though

In all seriousness, what does les actually think he's doing right now? 92% of the fan base want shot of the manager, granted fans aren't always the best judges but I'd suggest that level of rejection is pretty damming. He's our worst manager since portvliet/wotte, possibly even since branfoot. All our players are getting worse, not better, they look shot to pieces for form and morale and are so bad at marking set pieces we leave the leagues top scorer to be "marked" (if you can call it that) by a midget midfielder. Reed is clearly not a complete moron, so what is the thought process? Can we not find a suitable replacement? When did we start looking (because it should have been a month ago). Have we found our ideal replacement but he's not free until the season Ends? Does he think the malaise is all down to vvd and now he's gone it'll improve? Is he relying on bringing Walcott back as some kind of saviour? Reed has undoubtedly been a part of our return from league 1 so is probably deserving of some slack, but it seems to me that he's taking a huge gamble, risking our premier league status. He has to get his decisions over the next couple of weeks spot on otherwise we're getting relegated. And given our squad that would be one of the worst cases of underperformance in premier league history. Seriously, we should be nowhere near in danger.
  13. That could work, though we'd be missing long's pace, ward-prowse's expert dead-ball delivery and redmond's general all-round world class abilities.
  14. Sure did. And I stand by my comments.

So 92% want rid of the manager, and 67% want rid of the dir cor of football? Seems like we have a happy fan base. We march on indeed!
  16. Makes me laugh, everyone's all over the Theo rumours because he's "one of our own" and yet no mention of sturridge who's infinitely better and needing games and goals to get to the World Cup. Yes he's an annoying twerp, and would spend half his life on the treatment table (as would Theo) but I know who I'd rely on more to get us enough goals to stay up!
  17. The only saints player I've ever seen who would be worth a place at Barcelona. And I include le tiss in that assessment. He's that good. And yet bizarrely, if i could pick my all time centre half pairing (noting that I'm just too young to rate mark wright) I'd choose aldewiereld and sevensson.
  18. How good is he at moaning at his team-mates? Redmond level, or Tadic?
  19. As per title, he is failing the players, fans and employees. Time to go
  20. Sorry, but it is an age thing. How is this any different to when we sold Steve williams, Danny Wallace, rod Wallace, Alan shearer, Tim flowers or even Jeff Kenna? Or how about bale, Walcott, surman, oxlade and Chris Baird? Players get bought and sold, it's how professional football works. We got good value out of vvd for a couple of seasons (clearly not this one) and have got a fantastic fee for him. Replace and move on.
  21. That was simply embarrassing. He has to go - how have we manag d to coach so many players into such regression? Forster, Romeu, Redmond, Gabbbiadini, long, Davis. All far worse today than 12-18 months ago. And now add lamina to the list. First game he was an immense presence, today a completely anonymous bystander. In footballing terms, this is a proper crisis and needs some very quick decisive action.
  22. There is plenty wrong at the club, recruitment, appointments, player egos, declining academy ... But the job of the first team manager is to get the first team performing, and we're not. I'd argue we are most underperforming team in the premier league this season by quite some distance, so he has to go. Do I have confidence that we'd get a great replacement? No. But I fail to see how anyone could do a worse job right now.
  23. Trouble is, refs bring it upon themselves by not awarding a pen if a player is honest. Someone mentioned jrod at arsenal the other week, I remember it happening to kenwyne Jones in the play off first leg against Derby years ago. Stay on your feet and try and play on after a clear trip and you don't get the decision. So what's a player to do? I hate the exaggerated diving in modern football but if refs had the balls to give a decision when the player doesn't pretend to have stood on a land mine then they encourage this sort of behaviour. Anyway, thought we were fairly good in the main against a team that parked the bus and offered no threat, and were saved by that moment which will live long in the memory. Substitutions were good (although I'd have gone for boufal before Redmond) and thought we generally showed more purpose, but let's not pretend we're a good side because of one worldy. Tempting fate but I don't see us struggling, but am not entirely convinced we'll make any progress this season either.
  24. That's what I'd go with too.
