Regarding Lawrie Mac…we won a cup,whilst being complete underdogs. Adkins was given the best squad you could wish for in league one and Championship…but didn’t make the most of it. He failed. As for Strachan…he again,made the best of what he had at his disposal and we overachieved. Adkins underachieved. that’s the only comparison that can be made. Mediocre when he arrived,mediocre whilst here….and vilified at his last few clubs. hell be out of Charlton soon. We should’ve got out of league one and the championship…but on atleast one of those occasions as Champions. it wasn’t against the odds like it was under Strachan and Lawrie. Far from it. he took us as far as he could…runners up in the lower leagues. just look at the squad he had…for both league one and the championship. coming second was failure. and that’s why we got rid.

Whilst on the subject of managers…past,present or otherwise….. Adkins once again faltering and getting stick from Charlton fans. just goes to show how blessed he was to have the abundance of talent,facilities he had with us. yet still managed to throw away the opportunities to win a league title. his messiah like status by many here becomes more and more ill judged.

All a bit bizarre in the game between Brazil and Argentina. brazilian officials have walked onto the pitch in an effort to detain and possibly deport 4 Argentinian players…..because they have recently been in the UK and broken quarantine rules. they did warn them back at the hotel….but the Argentinians ignored the rules. the four players are well known over here. game is stopped and not sure what’s going to happen. Although it does not name the four, the players with Premier League clubs are Emiliano Buendia and Emiliano Martinez of Aston Villa and Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero of Tottenham Hotspur.

My ideal scenario….we manage somehow to scrape staying up….Brentford,despite playing football that gets the plaudits just fail and get relegated. we go and get Thomas Frank. I wanted him when they got so close to going up the last couple of Seasons.

Ok I’ll bite… A) I rate Thomas Frank as a manager,better than Hasenhüttle B) because Brentford will be in our region of the table come the end of the season in my opinion. the reason being for that is,not because Frank is a poorer manager than Hasenhüttle ,but because of lack of players experience and calibre in the Premier league. give Frank the tools and I believe he would be a shrewd acquisition for us in the future. actually…right now if it were possible. off you go with your usual mundane pedantic rhetoric. I’ll just search for the best yawning emoji or gif.

Each week I will be also rooting for any side playing against Brentford,Norwich and Watford…..as their failure will be our only saving grace from relegation. Our destiny will not be in our own hands. Im not confident we are stronger in any department than last season….and I have little confidence in Ralph making correct decisions both pre match and in game. Ironically however I would like to see Thomas Frank do quite well,as I’d take him over Ralph. so perhaps If Burnley can be shite also, that would be a bonus.
