Take note of the "transitional period" and "nessesity to repay".......from The Skate OS........ Portsmouth Football Club can confirm that striker Peter Crouch has joined Tottenham Hotspur for an undisclosed fee. A club spokesman said: “We are sorry to see Peter go both as a player and a person and would like to thank him for playing a key role in keeping the club in the Premier League last season. “His sale was necessitated by the club’s commitment to repay scheduled debts while we are in a transitional period of completing the takeover. “We will now be looking to add fresh faces to the first-team squad as soon as possible.” Crouch joined Pompey from Liverpool last summer for his second spell at the club. Last season he was Pompey’s top scorer with 16 goals from 49 appearances. Crouch opened his second Blues account at Goodison Park in a 3-0 victory over Everton last August and netted a crucial extra-time brace against Vitoria to put Pompey into the group stages of the UEFA Cup. One of Pompey’s Three Lions, he added six England caps to his tally during his time at Fratton Park, taking his total to 34. His most recent appearance for England came in June when he scored the final goal in the 6-0 hammering of Andorra in a World Cup qualifying match. It means he has now notched 16 goals for his country. Crouch’s first spell at Pompey came when he joined from QPR in 2001. He made an immediate impact, scoring 18 league goals in 37 starts. The striker joined Aston Villa for £5m in March 2002 and after time on loan at Norwich signed for Southampton and then Liverpool.

Transitional period.....repay Scheduled debts, they are in the mire if this "takeover" collapes, methinks.
  9. From one of the Hearts forums...."Rasiak could'nt even get a start and he was better than anything we had"
  10. Both Mercury rising and Rain Man,yes different genres of film i know, did nothing but stereotype people with Autism or Aspergers syndrome. However Rain Man set out to be entertainment and fulfilled it's obligation,in that dept, whereas Mercury rising failed on all counts, imo.
  11. His brief must have been fecking good.
  12. http://www.marketingmagazine.co.uk/news/922442/Portsmouth-FC-signs-shirt-sponsorship-deal-Jobsitecouk/ "jobsh1te" is much nicer.
  13. How ever talented he maybe,i am more than happy,at this time, that Pardew was installed.
  14. I listened to Hart in an interveiw this morning on Talksport,he could hardly string a coherant sentance together and sounded so downbeat. He stated that this was a time for some realism and not fantasy land for the supporters and that the spending that took place under Gadymak was over and it was time to do some proper scouting and look for bargains. Not a word on now having the club on a sound footing and optimism towards the stewardship under the new owners, all sounds a bit weird to me to be honest. Crouch is still definately going also.
  15. This is dated February, she's just had the sprogs and was on tv being interviewed this evening....... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1140912/Benefits-mother-living-unemployed-boyfriend-pregnant-17--triplets.html Jaden,Tyler and Levi, what wonderful names. Apologies to any Jaden's,Tyler's and Levi's out there,if my mocking causes offence.
  16. As it states in the Guardian piece Serbia and Montenegro were truly awful, not putting pressure on the ball or the player,so Argentina virtually went through them like a knife through butter. Whereas, again stated by the Guardian,Channons goal was from beginning to end, pressurised by the opposition. Liverpool were no mugs, wheresas Serbia and Montenegro were a piis poor side. All imo, luckily the guardian agree;)
  17. Meh.
  18. T'is true.
  19. He was staying at a friends house in Hill Head. The road was blocked for days with journo's.
  20. Now on the OS.... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1726620,00.html
  21. I am cautiously optimistic about the future. Have been impressed with the new regime thus far, long may it continue.
  22. comfortably in mid table would be great. However,i think we will finish just a couple of places and points above the relegation zone.
  23. My birthday Monday.Thanks,in advance.
  24. I'm pleased it's sorted and pleased with the appointment of Pardew. It could've been a lot worse. Pardew knows the leagues and can hit the ground running with that knowledge. Onwards and upwards.
