  1. Pandoras box is already open I'd suggest. Sent from my GT-P3110 using Tapatalk 2
  2. That looks way better. Sent from my GT-P3110 using Tapatalk 2
  3. I'm indifferent to the home but dislike the away shirts neckline. My nipper text me at 9am to say he loves the home shirt so that's one sale at least! Sent from my GT-P3110 using Tapatalk 2
  4. No, no, no. We is ripping off people and theys is paying for us to have MASSIVE pensions. It waz in da Sun.
  5. I've just given up row Q tickets. They were above the exits. Cracking views.
  6. They're not that bad. At least once they are past Y9 their not! My Mrs works in a very, very tough school (the estates it serves have one of the highest levels of heroin abuse in England and the same for alcohol) and by god does she earn her holidays. The amount of work she brings home is remarkable as her days are rammed with child protection and SEN issues. In some schools it's teachers like my Mrs who are the only steady, consistent and non drunk/stoned adults the youngsters have.
  7. It's just run better. If we are employed by the government then they, as the employer puts in. What's the drama with that?
  8. Booked tickets to take the kids on Saturday. The first one is my favourite kids film ever.
  9. What a muppet.
  10. Normal FE mush.
  11. My normal working day is 08.30 - 16.30 and then I reckon an hour per night once the kids are in bed. That changes depending on the time of year. Not unusual to do an extra 10hrs per week marking or planning. Part of the job and the trade off for the holidays. I do no college work at weekends.
  12. FE mate, only 4 weeks off!
  13. All of them!
  14. As a teacher/lecturer how can my salary be brought into line with the private sector and as my pension scheme is self funded it would be more apt if private pensions were run more like my scheme is and not the other way around?
  15. Yep, same message.
  16. Kipling isn't everyone's cuppa but this change of direction and sense of loss when his son was killed in WW1 brought me to tears when I watched the stage production of My Boy Jack. This may partly be due to being a dad myself and having left for war, wondering if I'd ever see my loved ones again.
  17. It was from the classic World at War. I remember it well and like you, it had a profound impact on me and drove my desire to understand more about the war in the East.
  18. That's a great shame.
  19. I love watching him. Very clever.
  20. IIRC Fartpants had some health issues and shacked up with SweetPotato. Mao Cap was an excellent contributer. Sent from my GT-P3110 using Tapatalk 2

  22. Yeah, right. You think parents are going to shell out when they already have a console and dozens of games then you are sadly mistaken. None of the kids in his football team or cricket team plan to get one or have asked for one, we (the parents) were discussing it today and yet some dads have pre-ordered PS4s. The general consensus is they like what they've got and don't want to lose all their games. My nipper is a techno geek and loves his Xbox but he's totally "meh" as are his mates. Parents aren't comfortable with kinnect "spying". Kids want to play games online with their mates, that's the bottom line and FIFA 14 etc will be out well before One and they'll all have it on the day of release.
  23. One of the key reasons I moved back to Europe from the States was the general ignorance of the populous. Before the fall of the Berlin Wall I was having a beer with some American friends of mine, in Coco Beach FL, and they were seriously discussing about nuking the commies in the USSR or fighting a limited nuclear war in Europe, oblivious to the fact that Europe was home and millions would die. These weren't uneducated rednecks, to a man (& woman) they were graduates, some working at the Kennedy Centre up the road. I find it perplexing. It's a great country with generous people but so ignorant and backwards at the same time. Much prefer Canada & Canadians though.
