Before Dunblane, when I was in the forces, I owned a 9mm Beretta 92F and would shoot a couple of times per week. Weapon remained in the armoury unless I was shooting at another base when it would be in my car. It was pretty straightforward to get a licence for it due to my job. Never really had the desire to own an assault rifle but can see the appeal of shooting with one on a range as I've done many times.

San Teodoro is perfect for families, mine were all young uns. The nearest beach is La Cinta, that's the one I posted the pic of. Within 10min drive are some of the best beaches I've ever used. Some in wildlife reserves so they charge a few € to park but you can come and go all day with the same ticket. Because they are on reserves there is no building by the beaches, in fact, the building regs mean they can't build too close to the beach anyway. The whole island is great for a relaxed beach holiday if I'm honest. It's typically Italian and can be very busy in August but my eldest is nagging us to go back.

My son & daughter are into Greek mythology at the moment so I downloaded Troy. What a steaming pile of sh.it that is.

Where on the island are you looking? I've stayed in San Teodoro & La Cinta before. Rented a villa both times, flying into Olbia.

Sardinia or Corisca. This was when it was busy in Sardinia last time we went! Dozens of beautiful secluded beaches, nice people and fantastic food.

Thinking about it I walked to Glenfield School on my own from about 6/7 usually cutting through the woods bordered by Royth Rd, Rossington Ave & Montgomery Rd. Often nipped through the gardens backing onto it at Rowborough Rd instead of going round.

My kids walk with an adult everyday. They are 10, 7 & 5. The 10yo gets a key at Easter and will start going to & from, by bike, on his own in preparation for secondary school.

I've been going with the same lads, home & away, since I moved up here 20 years ago. This is our last season as ST holders as the cost is becoming prohibitive and my nipper has dipped out on Anfield, Chelsea & OT due to their high prices. However, it appears that the likes of Stoke (A) appeals to fans and not day trippers which is great by me. Working mans sport my arse.
