  1. I appreciate that you don't really know much about how football clubs work so it's easier just to bleat about not spending gazillions but hey ho, let's try to keep things simple. Saints are/were NEVER going to buy the likes of Bony, who I rate and who I wanted Saints to go out and get, due to his massive wages. Benteke would never suit our system and cost way too much. Negrado, meh. Defoe, FFS. Berihino, fast, mobile, suits us. So, to be clear, Austin, purchased to replace Pelle has scored more than the players you mention and only one less than Pelle had at this stage of last season. Redmond has scored as many as Mane at the same stage but our lack of goals come from the fact that Long/Tadic have yet to really make their mark. Sturridge looks like he's now on the market and no doubt you're be bleating in we don't go in for him at around £30m, £120k a week salary and a sicknote to rival Darren Anderton.
  2. You can change it to ride any map you want with a pit of code manipulation. A quick google will show you how. There are plenty of group rides available but I highly recommend racing. It's great fun and hard as hell. The hardest workouts I did last winter were races. They left me hanging out of my ar_se but I was fitter than I'd ever been. I was doing 1 or 2 in the week and a TT on the Sunday depending how my legs felt after our "any weather" century on a Saturday. Give it a go. Details of upcoming group rides and races here. https://teamup.com/ks4861763bd63ce3d8/
  3. I use an 810 and my screen consists of the actual time, speed, distance, average speed and heart rate. I don't need more than that. If I invest in a some Garmin Vectors then I'd add power to it. I only have 1 profile set up as well despite the 3 bikes. I use all the data afterwards to analyse my ride only if it's been a hilly one or a smashfest other than that I don't bother.
  4. And there, bedwetting morons, is your answer.
  5. Do fu_ck off you utter melt. Of the names mention by Minsk how many of them have scored more than Austin? None, nada, zip, zilch but saying that I'd want Saints to get Berihino in Jan'.
  6. Are you so fu_cking thick that you don't understand that Austin was bought as Pelle's replacement but the club moved in the Jan instead of waiting for the summer? FFS, it's not hard. Mane is a different matter but I'm all ears as to who we should get as a high scoring, fast, mobile striker because as far as I can tell the usual wan_kers hark on about a replacement without suggesting who.
  7. I'll only use LBS as well for the actual bikes. I ride out of one of ours and they'll do any tinkering FoC and there is always coffee on the go and always cake waiting on a Saturday plus a free service per year and 12% discount on everything. For consumables though I'll buy them where I can find them for the cheapest price but I'll always the LBS to price match 1st. As my mind turns to my next "best bike", assuming my health issues have been dealt with, I'm going to have to do some driving as there are no longer any Bianchi or Stork dealerships near by as they are currently my 1st choices, closely followed by a Ridley.
  8. TBH, Ribble have always had a shocking reputation for customer services. My mate bought one, went to collect it. It was the wrong colour, wrong group set and wrong wheels and they raised merry hell saying it was his fault etc. Had to fight for a refund. In the end he got a better bike from Planet X.
  9. It's no accident that the Rust-Belt and Middle America rejected the status quo for almost the same reasons Middle England and the northern post-industrial towns voted out. neoliberal globalisation claimed them as victims, immigrants seemed to take what jobs were around whilst simultaneously changing the nature of the towns and the right wing media, in all of its forms, encouraged that view. The Left didn’t do enough to convince those people that they understood their problems or knew how to solve them and the traditional Right, don’t really care about them anyway so in step the mavericks. In step Farage & Trump spinning their lies and in our post-truth world it’s lap it up but both the Left and Traditional Right are flummoxed. The disconnect between the governed and the governing seems to be bigger than I’ve ever known it and what is really disconcerting is how many still don’t vote.
  10. Whilst I fully understand Trump represents the incoherent rage against neoliberal globalisation, what I don't like is that it’s found a home in racialised nationalism. IMHO, the left, in all of its guises, is equally to blame as it ignored the concerns of the voters who voted "Out" in the UK and Trump in the States. The racism and intolerance that has undoubtedly been unleashed by these votes should be condemned by all. That is hasn't, that's the biggest disappointment to me.
  11. I didn't go to Milan, I was too poorly. My nipper went though. What is most frustrating for me is that physically I'm fine and should be out on the bike but my mouth still hasn't healed and seems weeks and weeks away from doing so. Decided to have a pop at Gent - Wevelgem in late March. A whole €10. Doing it as day trip. Means when my mouth does heal I have to be bang at it to get the fitness back. The Deloitte ride. Now that ain't cheap!
  12. No thanks, it sounds awful.
  13. I give not one f u c k what you have time for the fact remains that everyone of your posts shows you to be an utter f u c k t a r d.
  14. I'm confident the deal the club came to with VVD will see him here next year and then gone the season after for mega money but we do need a replacement for Jose based just on his age.
  15. You are an utter F U C K T A R D.
  16. Money goes direct to the poppy appeal and not into pockets of someone off ebay. http://www.poppyshop.org.uk/southampton-poppy-lapel-pin.html
  17. I gained permission from the boss to go out for a short spin on the road today, just around the town, only to wake up feeling 'kin sh_ite and for it to be raining. She soon rescinded her permission. May spin on Zwift later but as my mouth hasn't healed yet (some days are way better than others) sometimes after 10mins it's impossible to carry on. Other days it's managable for 30-40mins. What is really galling though is that my usual Saturday ride partners are still banging out 200km rides and I'm dipping out. I've no doubt that when I'm fit enough the bloody weather will have changed. Got our Amstel Gold ride confirmation this week which is something to train for. I get back from that on the Monday and fly out to Mallorca on the Thursday. Got to love the Spring. Once you get your smart trainers sorted and you fancy a real, properly hard, workout do some racing. Do that twice a week and you'll be fitter than you've ever been but I warn you, it's brutal but the results are amazing.
  18. I've got one of these. It's bloody ace. https://www.evanscycles.com/elite-qubo-digital-smart-b-EV256909
  19. The 2nd leg of the round of 32 is during Feb 1/2 term and I'm in Belgium then so I'm hoping a lowlands/German/French draw so I can drive otherwise I'm screwed.
  20. I don't know what was said at 1/2 time but by fu_ck it worked. An outstanding 1/2 half. JWP, take a bow lad.
  21. I certainly preferred it. We did every away game and have a great time and the support was usually loud and boisterous without every really being nasty. Now we go to a few away games a season as it's sh_it. Rarely bother with home games as we CBA with the 400mile round trip + cost of tickets + Sunday games + clashes with the sports we play.
  22. What? They paid us a fu_cking fortune for Mane. Easily what he was worth.
  23. I don't disagree with this, nor the general premise or needing a "natural goalscorer" but, IMHO, it's now about getting one who suits our new style of fluid play. I'm sure the club know what they're doing in that respect.
  24. It's looking very likely that my lad and I aren't going to make it, 50/50 at best. Now, if you want to pay £17 for each and take your chances in collecting them in Prague......
  25. Your suggestion of Lambert is even more "bare bones" than Olomolo.
