The hope for o'riley is due to the fact that Atalanta have moved on, his previous relationship with Martin and that he is still in contact with him, the fact we have bought players not hugely less than celtic are asking for him and that they like Shea Charles who we are clearly sending somewhere. Fingers crossed.

I don't see it myself. You'd also have to fit in Smallbone, lesley and Aribo. I reckon this makes o'riley rather unlikely.

I don't see how we can afford much else. A winger and goalkeeper hopefully but I reckon there still isn't enough creativity for us to score enough.

Where is he going to play? Aribo replacement presumably. Still doesn't get us the creativity we need. I could end up with egg on my face but this is the first signing we've made this summer where I can't see the logic and for the price you can't help but feel that the money could be better spent elsewhere. We've been so careful with our funds in other positions and looked for bargains and shrewd buys. It seems like a complete change of tactics for this one unless we are supremely confident that he's unbelievable.

It's not like we even need a megastar. Someone like Johnstone is clearly an improvement on what we have now. We could have made a signing like that or similar about three years ago and sorted the position. We could have done it in any window once it became obvious that Bazunu wasn't ready to be first choice every week.
