  1. I didn't say he guarantees success. I don't really understand anyone that would rather have will still over Cooper.
  2. I'd say he's the least risky available candidate. Bit of a moot point though as I doubt he'd want to come.
  3. Sell Onuachu and we can afford that.
  4. If what Blackmore says is true, looks like Rohl is our first choice but they don't want to pay compensation. That's a real bummer if accurate.
  5. Bollocks are we. If Ipswich keep McKenna we are the top championship job other than Leicester.
  6. The ginger point is most important.
  7. Honestly? Probably not an awful lot better than this season. I just don't think we can get players in that would be successes in the prem. Players like kone are young and so could develop into a top player. Johnston has European pedigree and I'd be confident he could do well, same with Charles and possible Edwards. Azaz has been class this year for Middlesborough but he's not better than Fernandes and Sargent would be a squad player in the prem. If we went up we'd probably need about 7 new starters with possibly Johnston Doak if Liverpool sell Sainz And maybe Azaz making the step up.
  8. He signed for us just after he turned 27 which was pretty much the exact same age that Lambert was when he signed for us. Who knows how successful Stewart would have been if he hadn't had that horror injury. We should never have signed him but it is bizarre to suggest that he's poor because a big club hadn't come in for him given that our best signing in the last twenty years was in the exact same position.
  9. He has barely played in the Championship!
  10. Johansson Johnston Mee Edwards Wellington Charles Lowe Doak (loan) Sainz Azaz Kone/Sargent Sell Ramsdale 20 million, Dibling 30 million, THB 25 million, Downes 15 million, Fernandes 25 million, BBD 5 million, Onuachu 3 million, Sugawara 4 million, Bednarek 4 million, Sulemana 5 million Archer 7 million Call it 140 million. Johansson - Stoke 7 million Johnston- Sturm Graz- 5 million Mee- Free agent Lowe- Sheffield Wednesday - 4 million Doak- Liverpool- 3 million loan fee Sainz - Norwich- 12 million Azaz- Middlesborough- 15 million Kone- Wycombe- 2 million Sargent- Norwich- 15 million Total: 63 million Keep Armstrong, Bree, Bazunu, Wood, Manning, maybe Smallbone, Stephens and Stewart for the squad. Bin KWP, Lallana, Lumley, Fraser We might need another attacking option and definitely another AM but that team would be playoffs minimum and possibly more. Also has the advantage of having almost nothing to do with the losers from this year.
  11. Whilst I don't disagree, if Still starts to do badly 100% he will get dogs abuse for being young and ginger.
  12. I don't think we will go up but I have heard this a lot and can't stand it. Failing to win promotion more likely than not will mean that the following season will be more of a challenge. We will be forced to sell some more promising players, have less money and will be competing for promotion with more teams with parachute payments. Sure another season down might be a positive but I will never understand someone wanting it to happen. If we don't go up after two years then there's every chance that we stay down permanently.
  13. That's fine. Martin got us promoted so if Lampard did the same you could say he was a success.
  14. 100% agree. Given our financial advantage playoffs should be an absolute minimum and probably top 4.
  15. How does that explain Luton then? Or Birmingham's relegation the season before?
  16. I'd say getting derby and especially Coventry into the playoffs was not easy. He has a better championship record than Martin for me prior to us getting him in.
  17. Worth remembering that Luton were very good value in the prem and they were the ones that ended up dropping like a stone. Form from the previous season with so much change counts for little. Without any other signings we could line up with Bazunu Bree wood Edwards Wellington Downes Charles Armstrong Edozie Fernandes Stewart Most of whom have very little to do with this season. Obviously we will sell a lot of them and bring in new players but the point is we won't have half as much of a hangover as people imagine because they will be different players.
  18. I'd say Pardew was a decebt manager for league one prior to seeing what he'd do with us.
  19. No one or a tiny minority are 'not giving Still a chance'.
  20. No wonder MLG is not a fan.
  21. Yes that's my exact point. Experience is also about knowing how to navigate a number of different situations. I'd worry about his ability to navigate that given his youthfulness and relative lack of experience.
  22. Yes. MLG doesn't have a mute button.
  23. Who would think that giving an opinion that league experience was a desirable trait for the championship would seemingly be such a controversial thing to say.
  24. No one has ever said he will fail because he doesn't have league experience.
  25. Real life isn't a computer game.
