  1. Just because a sport is only taken seriously in America, does not mean that the winners of that sport are suddenly world champions. If I invented a sport which became popular in the UK and my team won, would I be "world champion" of it? Of course not.
  2. Oh right so we are now saying that the world champion comes from the league which is the highest standard? Many would say that is the Premiership for football. Does that make Chelsea the world champion of football?
  3. Oh and: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Blitz_(American_football) So you could argue they are also "world champions" but clearly they are not.
  4. Clue is in the title.
  5. Done really well IMO. The country is in good hands with the 2 working together.
  6. Fair play to him for doing it. Doesn't really matter why, a good charity gets a load of money.
  7. I think you are missing what nick is saying...
  8. I am a bit disappointed at our failure to act swiftly in the transfer market this year. Also sad that we did not sign Waigo and Antonio. Had we got those two, then we would have only needed cover for Rickie and we would be sorted. I like signing players we know because we already know that they can perform.
  9. No denying he was good last week though.
  10. This thread has gone on far longer than I imagined it would...
  11. But also TBF there are less disruptive influences and class clowns.
  12. Kids don't really know what they want after leaving primary school though. You don't keep the same friends anyway in most cases.
  13. So would everyone else with a firework display.
  14. WIFM streamers and a firework display that spells out WIFM in the sky would not be OTT IMO.
  15. I don't get your point. Nothing wrong with WIFM wigs and jester hats.
  16. I'll forgive you this time because I am in a good mood. See, even Tory supporters can be charitable
  17. WIFM sunglasses?
  18. Nothing else to add at the moment except to request that I hear more details about bridge too far's exceedingly gifted 7 year old grandson. I didn't hear enough the first or second times.
  19. From my experience, the main advantage of private schools was that the teachers did not feel under so much pressure to perform for a league table or to pass an exam, so more emphasis was placed on the teaching experience as a whole. I think that sort of thing should be extended to all schools but then we didn't have w*nkers at my school ruining it for everyone else.
  20. Beats the hardcore gay porn that ART normally looks at. Only just though.
  21. I promise you, there is some awful private school teachers and in many cases you can get away with a lot more than at a state school.
  22. Totally agree with this.
  23. Totally untrue. Yes there were some good teachers at St Marys (where I went) but there were some absolute shockers who would not have got into other schools. Mrs Tomkinson FFS.
  24. This thread is unappropriate.
