Seems particularly odd that Martin is bemoaning the fact he didn't get a full preseason and suggesting he may need to have one before playing again when he knew the situation when we signed him. Fair enough if we'd bought him in as a gamble to be in the squad but a striker was probably our key signing for the summer. We are incredibly fortunate that Armstrong has proven he can still perform in this league because if he hadn't then we would be utterly screwed.
-
What are you suggesting? That it's something to do with the original injury?
-
Yep. Would be lovely to win tomorrow even if it's difficult. Would really cement us in the playoffs.
-
And particularly when the injury he has is notoriously difficult to recover from and often results in reoccurance. Five minutes on Google showed that when he signed.
-
The loss is not having a striker in the squad to make a difference turning losses into draws and draws into wins.
-
Well we can say for certain now that this was a fucking stupid signing and it will be a big reason we don't get promoted if that does come to pass. Well done saints you twats spunking a load of our budget on a massive unnecessary risk.

If he was an evil genius like some Democrats believe, then surely the Democrats should have no problem with beating him and should let the people decide. Seems to me that they are very scared he might actually win which would have Trump in power for 4 years but also embarrass the Democrats if they can't even beat him.

That entire thing was ridiculous. On one side republicans are saying it's a steal and fake and the other they are acting like Trump stormed the white house and they are having memorials for January the 6th like it's 9/11. The truth is somewhere in between but I haven't seen any convincing evidence that he orchestrated any attempt to overthrow the result. If enough people believe that narrative then there should be no problem putting his name on the ballot and letting the people decide who should be in charge. You've got partisans on both sides doing things that I think are very harmful to democracy. I miss the 90s and earlier when you could get bipartisan cooperation regardless of political difference.
-
Yeah I know the reason it's an idiotic one. The fact he is favourite to win speaks more to the lack of serious and inspiring politicians in America. Not too different from this country to be honest. I would never want Corbyn in charge of this country but I'd be outraged if he was barred from standing.
-
It's stupid. Just let candidates on the ballot and let the people decide who they want. The other side are now calling for Republican states to kick Biden off the ballot.
-
From what I read, it seems likely to be overturned at the supreme court. Not entirely sure of the details, but you would think that trying to prevent the American public from voting for someone is likely to backfire.
-
I find it odd that some consider this rumour to be so laughably unlikely. I totally understand why someone would think it's not going to happen, but it's not something absurd or anything.
-
Let's be honest it's pretty hard to tell isn't it. Armstrong looked turd in the prem but is doing a job in the league below.
-
Thanks pal. Great talking to you.

I don't think any championship team will offer him 100k a week. Far more likely to come on loan with his wages subsidised. That being the case, I'd say we had as much of a chance as someone like Leeds, probably mire give his links here. This may all be moot of course as we may not want him but it's not as outlandish an idea as you claim. Circumstances are very different from 3 years ago as I outlined.
-
Is it a gammy eye?
-
It woild make zero financial sense. Even if he was worth that amount, unless he guarantees us promotion we'd be unlikely to make a big profit on him if we don't get promoted.
-
I said the same. I wonder if these reporters even bother to look into something like ffp before spouting very obvious nonsense.
-
I would suggest that the situation is rather different when he's three years older and has spent three years sitting on a bench. If your stance is that any championship club is not ambitious enough for him (even on loan till the end of the season) then it will be interesting to see if he goes anywhere near the championship won't it. I'm not saying it will happen, but it's hardly some outlandish flight of fancy that has no realistic chance of being true. Perfectly conceivable that someone like ings would take playing regularly at the top of the championship over warming the bench of a Premier league team.
-
There will clearly be other championship options for him. Given his links to the area I could see why he would prefer here than Leeds for example. I'm not sure what it would be that would mean we are his last resort. It can't have been that terrible last time.
-
Suppose we will see if he does entertain the idea of a return then.
-
How do you know he doesn't want to come back?
-
Why would you have any idea what sort of guy he is?
-
That's basically what Jo Tessem said on going home with Adam and Joe that it's good to have players who can do something different. Not the right choice here clearly but he has a bit of magic that can be handy if channeled in the right way.
-
No it isn't. More likely than not that we don't get above either of the top 2 but ten points is not insurmountable with more than half a season left. Not inconceivable that Ipswich get hit with an injury crisis or something like that. Two losses in a row for them with two wins for us and it's down to 4.
