Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
hypochondriac replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
And as I already said, if we develop a problem where we have spates of child killings in the UK where extremist Christians murder their children for disobedience and use bible verses to justify their actions then I would be just as critical and calling for similar action from churches. -

What gives you the right as an unbeliever to proclaim one interpretation as a perversion over another interpretation? Many Muslims would consider more moderate versions of Islam to be the perversion. You are well aware that I could pull up a whole host of qaranic verses that explicitly call for violence, how is that a perversion? I agree though, we should do more to remove the extremism and that would include looking at Saudi influence. With regards to your sentence about "hate" if you're talking about me, the only hate I have in this topic is for extremist Islam which has resulted in a number of terrible things happening. It should go without saying but there really is no problem with moderates other than there's a debate to be had about how many actually are moderate when you consider views on things like gay marriage for example. -

Indeed. Passages from their holy book give them all the justification they need. I mean the testimony from some of the Rotherham rape victims says that some of these islamists have been quoting passages whilst raping their largely white working class victims. Saying its largely because of bombing in the middle east is just another excuse from some more bashing of the west when the reality is that this sort of behaviour that is unacceptable in our culture would be happening regardless. -
It's a pretty big deal to his wife of 27 years and his children.

You've just gone off on a tangent talking about something that I never spoke about. I haven't said the system is good, I haven't said its working, I haven't spoken about the issue you want to discuss. My point was clear, there are some people on benefits who have difficulties with things like budgeting as shown on this programme. It is not a sensible idea imo to give advances of cash as one lump sum and then take it away over a long period later because it encourages people to make lavish purchases that they can't afford.
-
I'm sorry but where did I question the idea that the vast majority of people are not deserving cases? I don't think it's a good idea to give people big lump sums of cash as an advance because in a number of cases that's going to get them in worse financial difficulty. That's not a controversial statement, it's about recognising weaknesses and tailoring support to ensure that it is most effective. You read what, you want to rather than what is actually written.

Odd that you'd think words on a screen make someone angry. I'm perfectly calm thanks for the concern. The original inference from soggy was that if we stopped any operations in the middle east that we would not be a target for Islamic extremists. That's obviously nonsense. In the minds of these people, the very way we live our lives makes us a legitimate target. -

Surely that's the logical conclusion here? Atrocities committed by Islamic extremists are in reality nothing to do with Islam, its the west who have provoked these law abiding citizens into action. -

It's our fault really. The west should be apologising to poor Mr adebolajo. We provoked him into the beheading. Without our warmongering he'd be a model citizen. -

Nah its the west's fault for bombing things. Nothing to do with him. -
The Democratic party really should be concentrating on simply beating Trump at the ballot box. The fact that virtually every democratic candidate are deeply flawed and electorally unappealing isn't the fault of the Republican party. Just like the Corbynites, if they lose to trump again they will largely have themselves to blame.

How in your opinion will this dynastic power grab manifest itself?

I presume this is the programme. Whilst I'm aware that this sort of thing doesn't happen in every case, it's hard to have too much sympathy for someone who gets a load of money and then think the priorities are buying a new phone, getting her hair done and going out for posh meals. I do feel that cases like this make the case for food stamps or a voucher scheme quite strongly to save people from themselves. Dishing out large sums to individuals with poor impulse control doesn't tend to end well. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/stories-51389481/universal-credit-i-went-wild-and-it-hit-me-like-a-ton-of-bricks

Obsessions, repetitive behaviour and routines can be a source of enjoyment for autistic people and a way of coping with everyday life. But they may also limit people's involvement in other activities and cause distress or anxiety. Find out what you can do to help. -

When you can draw direct links between church leaders and violent Christian extremists in the UK then I'll call for similar levels of surveillance on churches. I don't think we should be censoring any texts that's the wrong way to go but we definitely need to scrutinise some high profile mosques to a greater degree than we currently do. -

Yep we need to keep them locked up for longer whilst working to stop their brainwashing. Part of that involves cracking down on extremist propaganda eminating from mosques. -

In what world is feeling the loss of a child the same as feeling shame? You have no idea what this family is like. -

I know their child is an Islamic extremist IS follower and a terrorist. I know he displayed worrying signs to his family potentially for years and there's no sign that he was reported or stopped from from doing it. Being Muslim is largely irrelevant save for the fact that their mad religion means its easier to find like minded people within it who hate the west and have sympathy towards extremists. -

Any children of mine won't be joining an Islamic death cult on my watch.
