  1. Well then that's pretty dumb if it's what we end up doing but even so we aren't getting relegated and maybe soares really wants to leave.
  2. Why are you still going on about relegation? Stop looking backwards and being negative, it's an exciting new season and Jake Vokins is kissing the badge on a billboard outside the stadium so you know they're serious.
  3. I hardly think replacing Soares is going to result in too huge a difference in the league. It wasn't that many games ago that he was absolutely rubbish with very little effort. If we think we have found his replacement and we can bring him in and give him six months to bed in before next season then I'd be up for it. We'd also get a few more million for transfers which given our financial situation is probably a good thing.
  4. TBF though it would be worth selling Soares if the alternative is him leaving for nothing. We are almost certainly safe now anyway.
  5. And the usual people on here will absolutely love it.
  6. I don't care about a 50p but it's hilarious seeing the usual people having a meltdown about it.
  7. I text my ex spurs youth team abd ex professional brother in law about him. He just said "Average. Needs game time."
  8. Plot twist.
  9. Particularly because the only topic of conversation I ever have with a lady I work with is about saints. She's a huge fan.
  10. You say that but a friend of mine has to attend workplace banter training next week.
  11. Correct. It's like a gateway drug. You're a meek, soy-milk drinking champion of women's rights. You start talking about the merits of Kevin danso or make a complimentary remark about Ben Stokes' bowling and before you know it you're reaching for an ale, pinching the a*se of the filly in the cubicle opposite, mixing in a lewd comment about Samantha from accounts and pondering what it would feel like to motorboat Lorraine from HR who might be an older lass but she's still got some life left in her. Slippery slope.
  12. Presumably the same would apply when you work somewhere that's mostly women and they spend a large portion of the day talking about love Island or if they have itchy nipples or something.
  13. Leicester are an interesting one. We were apparently very close to signing four of their players. Maddison in particular was signing for us until a last minute change of heart. Emphasises the fine line between success and failure.
  14. I know he is particularly clear that the mistakes of the past regarding relying on the say so of one individual for signings (carillo and others) will not be happening on his watch. Expect signings we make to be thoroughly vetted.
  15. Yep. I think the club is in much safer hands now under the leadership of Martin selmayr. Seems to be an impressive individual who is aware of the mistakes of past regimes. Personally I think the 9-0 has had a galvanising effect not only on Ralph but on the club.
  16. Tbf I think Lord duck hunter would consider lots of conservatives to be some of the people he just described.
  17. Hopefully. All I'm saying is that is how he came into the club initially. He did offer his resignation after the 9-0 but we turned it down.
  18. I said coles not the people I spoke to. Its difficult to remember a load of details from a conversation over a few beers. Take it however you want.
  19. Yep I could sign up to that. If the club think he has development potential then it's worth a small fee. I mean look at Stephens.
  20. Yes. If we had signed up Danso and then a starting cb then u don't think anyone would have had an issue. The impression when we got him was he was going to be a starter which I don't think was ever the case.
  21. It's just a chat with some acquaintances over a few beers. They had some info and I thought it was worth sharing. On reflection though some of them could have been identified with what I had originally written and how I had written it so I'd appreciate if you didn't share.
  22. The academy bloke who left for England and due to start in February has been all over the club recently - was there a lot last week- and apparently is an incredibly positive appointment as he knows the club and will return things to higher standards and remove some of the department heads if not performing on football side. Jaidi apparently is still working for the club and there may be an expectation that he has gone to learn in America and will return in the future. Point was made about the academy that effects both positive and negative take a few years to see the effects. Therefore the poorness of our current academy is down to bad decisions from a few seasons ago. Any positive moves now will take a few seasons to bear fruit. Gao Nothing we don't already know but has no intention of putting money in or taking any out. Only ever wanted the club to raise his profile abroad and as an asset to assist him in his other businesses. Some people are nervous about the sponsor this year and fear it could be something dodgy like money laundering.
  23. they seemed to think it was but I doubt they were told that directly by rohl so it was most likely second hand info. We didn't talk about rohl in much detail. I've had to leave some bits out and not go into too much detail as some of this stuff is obviously sensitive.
  24. The gifs were a particular highlight. Cheers master bates, would be great to see you posting more if you're up to it.
  25. Yes I'd agree with that. As you say his record has been a bit patchy, I reckon he'd want to stay for a bit longer yet to enhance his reputation but its not going to be a big shock if he leaves soonish.
