My avatar has entirely achieved its objective.

It was mostly popularised by hillary Clinton doing a bizarre hit piece on it during the election campaign. It was then carried on with kekistan parodying identity politics and the tendency from certain sections to see racism in everything they disagree with. It could be described as childish but then most memes tend to be which I think is part of their appeal. Certainly its existence seems to get all the type of people you would avoid at a party incredibly wound up.

Will they? Would be a very brave judge who declared a mistrial based on that. I agree though, what he did was stupid.
-
My point is it would definitely increase the audience and raise the profile if that is what they want. I'm not fussed either way I just thought it curious that they tried to make it its own separate thing and yet had the exact same rules and regulations as the men which highlights the difference in quality.
-
I never understood why they don't play women's sports in tandem with the men's (it works for tennis.) if they had the women's World Cup on during the men's version and extended that to cricket and other sports then it would definitely get a lot more interest. I personally wouldn't watch a women's World Cup, but if it's on immediately after the men's game then I'd probably give it a watch.

Depends on your definition of a moron I suppose. I certainly think he doesn't help his cause with the way he speaks sometimes and he doesn't choose his language carefully enough to ever be acceptable to a mainstream audience, but it is galling when he is wilfully misrepresented by the likes of Piers Morgan. I definitely think it's unfair to characterise "most" of his supporters as a bunch of far right nut bars, certainly he attracts some unsavoury characters but there are a number of perfectly legitimate people that worry about the erosion of free speech in the UK and the prevalence of Muslim rape gang trials etc and who share a common cause with the likes of Tommy Robinson in that respect, yet wouldn't recognise your characterisation of far right at all. Personally I think a bit more respect from both sides would be healthy and it would have probably meant there was less tension and he wouldn't have got himself banged up by some in authority desperate to get rid of him.
-
I don't think he's a moron, but he isn't the person who's going to persuade Middle England to his cause due to who he is and how he presents himself. Someone like Douglas Murray has a much better chance considering he's gay, erudite and chooses his words carefully.

To be fair, whilst the law is questionable, he did potentially compromise the court proceedings through his careless reporting. I would suggest it wasn't the smartest thing in the world to go live streaming outside a case that has reporting restrictions when he already has a suspended sentence for contempt of court. I have sympathy for him and I think the sentence is incredibly harsh and they've obviously gone after him because of who he is, but he did leave himself open to something like this because technically he did break the law.

I know an ex spurs youth player who still knows people at the club. The rumour there is that they are selling Ali, keeping kane and getting bale back. Interesting to see if that is true.
-
Good to know. If true though it's a bit of a pr misstep (again) to not get it sorted quickly.
-
Well there's a lot to be concerned about but that's quite clearly bullsh*t.
-
But then how do you explain January? Or the previous January? Are you suggesting that even with constraints it was an impossibility to get in a fonte replacement or a vvd replacement or a creative midfielder?
-
I really thought the club had a great chance to turn things around a bit after that abortion of a season. Appoint Hughes early doors, put some bullsh*t statements out about unity and purpose and marching on together as one, get a nice early signing in before the world Cup and get everyone excited for a full pre season in China and starting the new season with a bang. Instead we get the paralysis and the dithering before possibly Hughes walking away, us smearing him in the press or some other PR to cover our a*ses and hide the fact that we have no money and bringing in another no mark coach from the continent or a young English coach with little experience to continue the inept football. I think Ralph was telling the truth about us being a small club- expectations have clearly been reined in since the new guys took over and showed no interest in investing in the club other than setting up some pointless Chinese academies that no one in England gives a tinkers cuss about. Continue on this path and we will have further disillusionment, the malaise will continue and we will be down within three years and I can't see us returning.
-
Do we get to keep the trophy yet?
-
Yes and it was a terrible season. Who knows if we would have been any better off with more decisive decision making. Lets remember also that this season we have a truncated transfer window and thus it's more important than ever that we get this sorted asap. |The impression it gves is we are being difficult and dragging our feet once again and we look slightly rudderless. |It's not a good look.
-
We didn't get a pelle replacement, we didn't get a fonte replacement, we didn't sort the vvd situation, the failure to sort any players of quality in January was an absolute clusterf*ck, we should have sacked pellegrino months before we finally did. Those are just a few examples. I want some decisiveness and an idea of some sort of plan and drive. We definitely had that under Cortese and now who knows?
-
No I think many of our problems have stemmed from being indecisive and slow to sort out some of our obvious issues.
-
Exactly. We don't have the level of players required for that type of football and we probably never will have. This is getting slightly farcical now that we can't even tie up what should be an incredibly simple deal.
-
I genuinely thought the club had learnt from the last two seasons and would have been decisive at the very start of this window so we can hit the ground running. There is something fundamentally wrong at this club and its been very evident since koeman left. I think we may struggle again next year.

Summer 2018 - Other teams Manager/transfer business
hypochondriac replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
It certainly does seem like that yes. All we need now is Hughes to walk away to put the cherry on top and saints will go to radio silence again now doubt. -
Probably. Should be long and carillo though really.

Cedric Soares - Official: Loaned to Arsenal

I'd take 20 million. -
Would be interesting to know who he proposed as the other option. Hopefully Reed doesn't like Hughes because he isn't a yes man and he can't really influence him too much.
-
Really drives home when reading these how utterly crazy it was that he wasn't sacked earlier. Sounds like Huddersfield was the final straw for you whereas it was Leicester for me but regardless of that, only the most incompetent and inept leadership would have kept him in charge after Palace. It makes me very worried that we simply don't have the right decisive people in charge at the club. Still makes me angry now that we didn't sack him after Palace. I may need the summer to get over it.
