  1. Did anyone have any confidence that we would win that at half time? I considered it much more likely we would end up with a score like this. Regardless of the unfortunate second, our second half tactics were exactly what I thought they would be which is so depressing. Even worse, we will feel hard done by and I imagine it will mean we still don't get rid of this manager.
  2. That's it for me. We are down.
  3. If we fail to win this now then I give up on this club.
  4. Here we go then
  5. If we sit back and concede then I will lose all hope. Really hoping we push on this half.
  6. Most important half of the season coming up. We have to win this now.
  7. Yeah you're really one for taking the moral high ground.
  8. Yes you are correct that you can take it two ways but let's not pretend that those using it in this thread are not fully aware of the implications. We all know what they are trying to say so let's not act dumb.
  9. 18 months ago obviously. It's an obvious downgrade and the club have clearly made that choice.
  10. If Stephens is Fonte's replacement then we have undoubtedly weakened the team.
  11. They know who they are.
  12. It was in one of the pr videos once so everyone have seen it.
  13. Ha exactly! The club have felt they had no need to crow about their recruitment during the good times so now they are doing so poorly they thought it was a good time to bring it up to deflect some criticism- let's not forget all the times they have brought it up previously as well! Who gives a f*ck how many players we have managed to sell from years ago- what matters is our current situation. We do seem to be living on past glories somewhat rather than striving to do better every year - you can see why we have regressed if this attitude permeates the club.
  14. Like that excellent article said earlier in the week- the things that the majority of saints fan want are a team that gives our youth players a chance instead of farming them all out on loan, a team that tries to play an attacking and exciting brand of football and a team that is fully committed. If we get those three things then I think most saints fans would be happy. Do we have either of those things right now? I would say a resounding no for all three so you can see why people are unhappy (and I would be saying this even if we were mid table.)
  15. Don't worry. To sensible posters that was always the most likely option.
  16. Not according to this article...
  17. Worrying that they describe hoedt as the vvd replacement- was hoping for someone else.
  18. Also one in the eye of some of the odd posters on here who have been blaming the puel sacking on the fans.
  19. From the usual bloke. Sounds very worrying to me and little acknowledgement of how poor we have been over the last two seasons. Definitely worth a read though but it does seem to me like our manager could finally get the chop if we lose to Watford. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/01/12/southampton-believe-model-works-now-mauricio-pellegrino-must/
  20. It really depends what our alternative is doesn't it.
  21. I guess they are aware. Like I said, it will take a stinker of a home performance where we go behind early to show real frustration.
  22. Has anyone been screaming to pay him that much money? I think most have accepted that if that's all he will accept then we won't be singing him.
  23. Well also someone who is actually a decent player. Think we need more of a criteria than simply younger and not injury prone!
  24. I think it's clear he has at least considered coming here and he would know that he would have to take a pay cut as we wouldn't be able to afford the wages he is currently on. As I said, the only possible reason he would have to come here would be for family and location reasons.
  25. Personally i think it's going a similar way to the embarrassment of last January when we sold Fonte and then completely failed to replace him. Very luckily Stephens saved our bacon and we got not cb injuries but if we do somethibg similar this month we won't be so fortunate.
