  1. Either the club's judgement is horrifically flawed or they are listening too much to the players. Probably both.
  2. Abd the gems keep coming. As a player "he has three things: incredible humility, complete professionalism and he never celebrated victory.” He's continued that as a manager!
  3. He's also happy to take a job if a tiny third division club came in for him. You can see how Southampton "small" FC were sold to him.
  4. Now I get it. We've been trying not to win so that the players stay hungry. Unfortunately it appears they are starving to death.
  5. Oh dear think we've found a club pr plant. Out of interest, is there any circumstance where you wouldn't back the club and the decisions they make?
  6. Does anyone know why he was there by the way? Nearly fell off my chair when I saw him.
  7. Good shout with Phil brown. Reading Wikipedia it looks like he was eventually sacked the season they got relegated - but not until March and after a run of 1 win in 15 (sound familiar?). Holloway doesn't appear to have had as bad a run as that and I think he at least managed to take Blackpool to the last day. They also played some good football from memory with what was a very limited squad. As you say, both managers had success before their poor runs so you could argue that they deserved longer in their jobs due to that. I certainly can't think of anyone else who has had such a poor run in the Premier league without the mitigating factor or previous success with that team to explain why they are being kept on.
  8. They are well dodgy.
  9. If we replaced him now, the worst that could happen is that we continue doing as badly as we have been doing and we will be relegated. Under this manager we will be relegated anyway so we won't have lost anything.
  10. What time? I expected much worse. Its going to be hell next week.
  11. I have a feeling he won't be sacked. Now we can lock the thread.
  12. Skates or WUMs
  13. Being serious has any manager had a worse record in the Premier league and not been sacked? Maybe Pardew?
  14. What are they supposed to say? They know they have messed up and we all know it too. Short of Ralph spouting his usual rubbish there really isn't a lot more they can say until they actually sack the manager - which they show no intention of doing currently.
  15. Would be nice if the squad who go down donated 20% of their wages. Would probably keep the majority of the staff. I know it doesn't work like that but still.
  16. Didn't seem too bad today but it's half term.
  17. Yep. They really should have seen last January as a big mistake and a chance to refresh things this summer. They did virtually nothing and it's compounded the problem. I actually think we did worse in the summer than in January. I can sort of understand why it would be difficult to persuade players to join us then.
  18. Nah. I gave up on expecting the club to act ages ago. For better or worse he isn't going anywhere for the foreseeable future.
  19. No but he does have a habit of popping up where he isn't needed
  20. And the appaling thing is, performances like this have occurred on numerous occasions this season. Leicester, Palace, Liverpool, spurs. Its an absolute disgrace that the players would consider it acceptable to perform like that for even ten minutes let alone the majority of matches. Personally I think the fans have been too soft and shouldn't be putting up with it. Unfortunately we haven't had a real tonking against a smaller team bar maybe Leicester so fans haven't felt sufficient annoyance to really turn against the club. We will probably get pellegrino on the brink again before a draw or a win will ward it off for a few more games and we will go down limping.
  21. Not sure how anyone could prefer the status quo to mark Hughes. I'd give Hughes a go and see if he can keep us up. He's miles better than the fool in charge at present and has actually had some success in the prem.
  22. They should be out soon. I can hardly wait.
  23. I just don't understand how the owners and those in charge can watch that second half performance and then not have an overwhelming feeling that something- anything- has to change to try to bring some fire and passion onto the players. Just going through the motions and barely doing anything of note for that entire second half is soul destroying for the fans who pay so much money to go and see the players perform.
  24. Exactly. He will need less of a bedding in period. I have a feeling that with a bit of fire and organisation we would see a huge improvement. We have a weaker squad than previous years but also a hugely weaker manager.
  25. I'm happy for all the blame to go to him now if it gets him the sack. It's beyond desperate.
