Probably. Can't see any of the guys at the top making any sort of statement though. Will probably send out the Gareth bloke. They wouldn't dare make another statement about other clubs bidding for our players though as even they can no longer pretend that that statement had any substance.
You are probably right. At least in that scenario though our expectations will be suitably dampened. The worst thing about this summer is the higher expectations last season gave everyone which makes losing everything over one summer that much harder to take.
They can't justify it so they won't try. It will be a similar statement Imo to the lovren one and when they do finally make a signing they will send Koeman out to big it up.
Does seem like the club have misled the fans and probably planned these sales a while ago. Would be nice if they knew they can't keep doing it indefinitely without getting some abuse back.
Saints probably cheaper than both of those though, in the prem and with the best academy in the country. I could think of worse clubs to buy. If Wigan can get a buyer then we can.
1.For not implementing a strategy that allowed us to lose players in a controlled fashion
2. For having p*ss poor communication despite maintaining that was their main priority when they came in.
3. For having abysmal pr that makes it appear that we are a club in meltdown and directionless even if that is not the case.
4. For lying to the fans and saying that the players would probably not be for sale when we are going to lose probanly 7 of them.
Probably more but I can't be bothered to type.
In a way it's good we've lost so many. At least now we have almost lost them all so my expectations couldn't be much lower. Anything that isn't relegation will feel like a victory.
We were speculating earlier about this and IMO it's what makes the most sense. Play the kids and get a few players in. Make a huge profit, pray we stay up, play loads of the kids and sell at a reduced rate with less players.
