I enjoy reading other teams message boards after we beat them. Loads of posts by Liverpool fans about how MP completely beat BR in tactical battle, specifically how as they came back into it we made a substitution changing shape of midfield and they were out of game again.

Disagree. I didn't make out 9 points is stunning. I would have expected 6 or 7 so its a bit better than I thought. Where did I say its stunning? Also think you are wrong about it being relegation form. That form would give about 43 points, I assure that won't be relegation figure. If we had this form all season we would probably have been top half now. Some easier games but certainly not easy run with Everton, Liverpool, man u, Newcastle in those 9. http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/matchday/form-guide.html Great afternoon, players and manager doing well. Said all season, we will have relaxing safe end to the season, enjoy it!

We haven't been superb but have played well since his arrival. Everton - good United - didn't see but stats, independent reporters, Fergie all show one of better performances from away team this season Wigan - think reports were we were pretty good, but can't remember so will give you one fair assessment Man C - excellent Newcastle - Dave M and Alan P both said v good, goals against looked unlucky QPR is hard one, was gutted as spark seemed missing. On reflection we weren't that bad. They sat back. We had some scrappy half chances, got frustrated and game went away. We weren't v poor for 90. Norwich - pretty good. Liverpool - excellent. As op discussing quality of play since arrival of new manager, think its impressive. Would NA have done better, same, or worse? I find it hard to compare as I didn't want him sacked. However, if asked for my predictions for those games , before NA left, reckon I would have gone for 6 or 7 points. Doubt many would have predicted 9. Wonder if those moaning about him would honestly have predicted 9 from those games?

I like that he isn't hating other teams (one compulsory exception of course) and is impressed with good players. He loves saints, gets passionate at the game, will be wearing his saints shirt But knows all their players, can't wait to watch Suarez, Gerrard, Coutinhio etc (he knows all there team, not sure I do).. So his thrill and excitement when we score or win is even greater. Him going mad when we scored against Man C, turning and saying "I can't believe we are beating Man City, the champions!" Made my day and is memory I will cherish. Reminds some of us used to annually beating man u and years in prem how this looks to younger fans.

Good posters that don't bother any more and you can see why!

Agree. Free opinions are great BUT the small group who exaggerate their moans for attention Deliberately state a poster has stated something they haven't to try to point score Swamp threads with repetitive moans Stating obvious, eg someone makes positive remark about how we played will be followed by - only points count, league table doesn't lie (strangely I have seen same poster use opposite to moan - we win but performance not good enough! Mainly, just incredibly dull posters who make this forum less interesting and fun - in my opinion. Earlier post summed it up, lack of respect for others. -
Helpful saints community...anyone? Just want to know whether anyone's kids have managed to get autographs when away team arrive at St Marys, and if so when does the coach normally arrive? Cheers
-
What time do the away team normally arrive and do children get access for autographs, or do players get rushed straight through? Am I being grumpy saying we only need to arrive at 2.55, don't need to see players arrive, warm up, autographs etc??! May give in and do one early arrival.

Sorry that was the wrong post about the only reason we are not in bottom 3 i tried to quote
-
Lol, you hadn't thought that through had you?! Not one set of fans below would rather their chances to ours

If we all continue with our current firm from last 8 games, projected points with one game to go... Stoke 37 West ham 40 Newcastle 46 Norwich 41 Sunderland 38 Saints 35 Aston villa 35 Wigan 30 Reading 33 QPR 33 So everyone continues as per last 8 form we will be two points clear going into last game. Home to Stoke who will be 2 points ahead! My season long prediction, and will stick with it... We will be safe before last weekend. Reckon bottom 3 still most likely
-
Scored our last goal? Was one of the better players in our last game? Nope, in cos of made up conspiracy theory! Lol
-
Very young Very good Too few top performances But could prove excellent buy. Thought his ability and vision was stunning v Villa. Wonder if any of those prematurely writing him off did same with Morgan. Remember surprise that people couldn't see his ability.
-
Money well spent then! Most over rated over spending manager going. Lied, spent fortune, increased wage bill - with no improvement in chances to stay up (some ways worse as games run out). Some wanted him here.
-
He's not one to let truth, facts or common sense stand in the way of killing every thread with his dull tedium

Reckon 8 game current form is good gauge as to where team is, current squad, form confidence etc. Clearly start if season counts to final table but anyone with half a brain could see that that wasn't how we were going to continue. We had hard fixtures, bad performances, naivety, bad luck, learning the higher level league etc. We didn't have Yoshida, Ramirez, Boric and Forren. Shaw and Cork later came in. Rodriguez improved....as most thought he would. If you did custom table after Arsenal away, or Cork/Shaw, or Boric getting back to speed that would show how we are performing and likely to finish. Last 8 games, points per game, used as prediction for rest of season would give you a fair prediction for final table. Not looked, may work it out later. Stick with my consistent season long predictions...safe well before end of season and good chance above west ham. Think dell days mocked...but couldn't we potentially be above west ham tomorrow?
-
Lol, if I do have to correct you again, to stop your continual trolling... The thread was about comparative spending ie we spent a lot in summer. Point I made simply, which most would be able to follow, was we were playing in league 1 very recently. It is common sense that a squad based from league 1 would need more spending to bring them to prem level. Why do you feel need for childish bickering on most threads?
-
Nope...reality - we are not in relegation zone. Keep saying, relax you always think we are worse than we are, build up Arry and Fat Sam. Just enjoy it - been telling you all season, we will be safe before last fixtures.
-
You maybe right, west ham could be dragged into it.
-
Aren't Man U safe then?
-
Each entitled to their opinion, and football has surprises so who knows how it will end. To say we are definitely down is clearly ridiculous. But CB, To be fair to say we are nailed on for 12th (has anyone said that?) Is equally ridiculous. Dell days - in the autumn, writing off several players, you said we would be so far adrift in January that we would be effectively relegated. Wouldn't it be more fun to learn from your negativity, realise you tend to be downwardly unrealistic in your predictions and enjoy the realistic hope of survival or even a bit better? Your tick tock post was very skate like. Is that how you want to come across? Have I ever said we will be in Europe sometime soon? No. I have said all season, even at our lowest, that I think we will stay up, and be safe before last weekend. The season isn't over. We could finish bottom. However, currently mine are much more realistic than your predictions were. I don't think 12th is impossible, certainly wouldn't bet on it. Turkish - does anyone deny we are still in the relegation scrap? I agree would be a clown to think that. League table shows we are not miles ahead of Villa, however we are 3 points ahead. In November they were 2 ahead of us. It can change quickly, either way, but to make up 5 points, when we haven't done great isn't too promising for them. Cheer up, when Arry arrived we were only 4 points ahead of QPR now we are 7! You are entitled, of course, to your opinions. Neither of us can, or should say, as fact how things will turn out. (Certain 'bedwetters' continual provoke arguments by stating opinion as fact). However, the 'bedwetters' (your phrase) have been proven time and time and time to be very unrealistic. Surely it isn't much fun, supporting saints, a hobby, if its so depressing? That's killed time waiting for my nipper! Can't wait for today's game.

Hard to tell if there are any serious posts left here now...try to spot them amongst sarcasm and wind ups.

Saint Or Sinner Nicola Cortese Drives Southampton On
NickG replied to Graffito's topic in The Saints
NA, at time of sacking, had been in his job longer than most prem managers. Times have changed managers don't last long, with 3 exceptions -
Was about to post this, first time deadline pit as END OF PLAYING SEASON I always assumed some date in summer, just in time for alternative arrangements. Now guess last date of any football league play offs (championship?).
