without our ten points deduction we would be just outside of relegation zone - clearly disappointing. The form has improved. Huge improvements in balance of side, players, management etc Not tranferred into results yet. With a bit of luck on Tuesday we would have been celebrating a very good performance,against one of the in-form sides, but we succombed to late pressure and a very good goal (well after game should have stopped!). If we keep grinding out odd results then dropping points we will struggle. If we managed to scrape 3 wins - I can see us going on to do well. The main problem seems that we have lost the winning habit.

Echo report - man of match - due to high level of effort.

Thought we played very well for a lot of the game - spell in 2nd half until their goal was great. Schneiderlin and Lallana particularly good - Bristol couldn't cope. Then they scored... our confidence went and were under pressure. Thought Mills was a good idea to support against their sub winger - but he played dreadfully and didn't get near him. BTW - set watch on 90 mins - their goal was way over time 0 but sh1t happens!

point people are making is that we have improved - the last 6 games are an improvement on the first 6 - simple. I think the few weeks to gel has gone - IMHO 2 games ago was fair. Averaging 2 points a game - enough for play offs since then!

and you can bet he worries less about including the games when he didn't have any coaches or half of the team - when assessing the form. Common used current form is last 6 games. We are 10th. Doubt he is doing much fretting but will want improvement - and I believe it will come.

do you think we will be in the relegation zone at the end of the season, or even Christmas? I don't think we will be close. My post explains why I think the first few games are so unrepresentative for how I think our season will go. It was made before the last two games. So far (only so far) it is proving correct. Therefore I don't care at all that we are still 10 points from safety at this stage.

can't see play offs myself but shows how ridiculous those writing off the season already are!

take the p1ss if you like but I am enjoying the progress and looking to the future.
