  1. 2 out of 3
  2. bit in bold was how all this started - he said he wasn't happy. I am not getting excited - don't think I have had any posts getting carried away - certainly not enough for me to react as you suggest! btw - this forum is the only place I have ever known happy to be a common insult:confused:
  3. I also thought Mellis had a very good game
  4. strange feeling at half time - felt relaxed!
  5. I've hardly said we have won the league and all are problems are behind us ffs! All I believe is seeing saints perform very well and win on a Saturday should be enjoyable!
  6. Rather than get personal think we should agree to disagree. I really enjoyed and am looking forward to next game.
  7. just re-read your post - "ok to good"??? lighten up
  8. no he didn't. He said was reserving his happiness for when we win more games! We aren't of the mess yet and hardly champions league - but if you can't enjoy yesterday you really are a miserable f***er! Cheer up!
  9. Saga just doesn't find form enough. Form /consistency is an important quality in a player - we can't wait for ever for half a dozen decent games. He is way way behind Lambert and Lallana (and probably Papa now). Tony Adams didn't have many great games but the fact that he never had a poor one made him a great player.
  10. agree, but also happy with all of yesterday's starting line up and 4-1-2-3 line up. James does cross well, but Thomas or Murty at RB gives more of a solid back 4
  11. not harsh if Holmes/Mills are neck and neck for one position now - have to fight for it and perform

    Lallana

The "problem" Lallana had (and managers) is finding his role. No-one can fail to see his ability. He was not solid enough for CM Didn't score enough, or look like scoring as CF (possibly conifence and partners) Not fast enough for a winger. He is now scoring, and looking like scoring - looking exciting alongside Lambert. In this form, looks like both with score most games!
  13. agree, wasn't impressed with Merrington's comments. Papa is a forward, he makes things happen. He beat players -even when 3 on him, won the ball back, got dangerous crosses in. Suppose as a pundit he has to justify his place.
  14. manage to find a negative in promising young player getting his first place on the bench -well done!
  15. to be fair you were outspoken that Melis didn't deserve a place - (I haven't been impressed either) but he was excellent yesterday - Gillingham could not cope. He played more central with Hammond -Wooton sitting behind them.
  16. Davis ( 7 ) - Solid but unspectacular. James ( 7 ) - his crossing is a real danger - and makes goals! Trotman ( 6.5 ) - thought CB's were leaving to much space at the start and didn't seem to be communicating - seemed to get better after Pardew came on and gave him a bollocking and a slap - on the pitch! Jaidi ( 6.5 ) - as above Harding ( 7 ) - Reliable as ever. Supported Lallana and Mellis very well and was sound defensively. Mellis 8 - One of his better performances. Very industrious and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet - very quickly starting attacks and great interplay with Lallana Hammond ( 8 ) - Proving to be a first-class signing by Pards. Not afraid to get stuck in and breaks up the play brilliantly. Wotton ( 7 ) - did what he was there for- solid, got stuck in, organised others etc, protected defence Waigo ( 8 ) - made things happen Lambert ( 10 ) - what more can a CF do? scored, held the ball up, saw good passes, won headers Lallana ( 9 ) - Took his goals very well and worked well alongside Lambert. Could be the start of a good partnership. (thanks Bailey for saving me typing a lot out)
  17. Hart said on radio 5 yesterday that he is confident good news within 2 days
  18. some of us don't have agendas! enjoy the games and move on!
  19. injured AP said he would have started if not
  20. don't have to be an expert to see he is probably best forward in this division and has been for last couple of years. Played well just about every game. Superb scoring record. Superb holding up play and passing. Great in the air. sorry I touched a nerve, there are opinions - and then there is just being wrong. you are wrong sorry.
  21. mixed game but thought Merrington's criticism of him not having a football brain was bit of a cheap one. He saw a few lovely passes others would not have.
  22. glanced at this and thought you were saying he was absolutely awful...!
  23. if attacking play like that, and 4-1 win, doesn't make you happy think you should try another hobby!
  24. he was central with Hammond Wooton behind them. Lallana/Lambert/Waigo as front three (Waigo/Lallana also dropping back) was how I saw it, from the start - agree it does leave fullbacks exposed tho
