I wonder who'll be first to create a takeover thread?
NickG replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
if, big if as I am very sceptical, this happened, then the fact that we have spent summer getting rid of dead wood and developing youth would still be a good foundation. £50m could soon go, and the players going could just be the ones to replace, with talented youth to work with them. -
on here! saying something twice doesn't prove its provenance!
-
where are they being linked mate?
-
please take this in the manner its meant, genuine question. Is there anything at all that says there is current attempts to takeover saints by this group or another more than conjecture? as far as I know; saints officially in takeover talks this group widely linked -in April or whenever saints officially end takeover talks nothing more happens this goup have director change I am not saying this is nothing to do with saints but is there anything to say it is? For arguements sake, not that this group, who were working together possibly for a saints takeover, are still business associates?
-
it would appear that for the last few months we have actually been further away from d day as no longer in take over talks
-
as its so unusual it will be a bit of a dilema for other managers -so they stick to their formation, worry about ours, or see a weakness in ours. think we will see all approaches this season -with varying degree of success
-
there still have not been the departures perdicted on here. The list widely posted was Davies Surman Dyer Rasiak John Safri Saga Skacel so far, safri and Saga -expect more but also expect several on that list to stay. i appreciate the books need to balance, I would rather start the season with ony DMG and BWP up front than on minus 13 points
-
one thing with saints this year -we will be hard to predict!
-
saw yours -so maybr not talking about you this time!

the world is a more positive place. i remembered that ignore function. if you think of anyone who is irritating in the way they will post negatives and moan, when know none of the facts, and you have yet to see an insightful, constructive post from them then it may be worth using the function. It saves being dragged into useless arguements.

a few months ago, it was posted on here that he may play this season, the "realisitic" posters confidently said that if we thought that we were in fantasy land, choosing to ignore the OS and those who spoke with him. Who knows what will happen, but he and the club seem happy, so I will go with them rather than the "realistic" posters.

he did slag him off. He didn't say, being 18 maybe he will turn out to be..etc he said he is mentally lghtweight.
-
as is seeing a player before you slag him off?
-
3 years?
-
once again slagging off saints player -based on what? Why?
-
I described him as a Gerrard type after seeing Celtic game -certainly not a light-weight fan-Dan, no idea where Alpine got that from?
-
the thread of those who went is in the main positive
-
Stern John BWP Rasiak McGoldrick

Isn't 6ft and 11 1/2 stone pretty big for a midfielder? http://www.football.co.uk/southampton/players/morgan_schneiderlin_124399.shtml in fact just looked at a few other clubs who are tipped to do well and they don't have a single midfielder as big as him, and maybe he is still growing! Don't let facts stand in the way of slagging of fancy Dan-Schneiderlin
-
sure he would want to keep them all, but if it was a balancing act and meant keeping Davies, Surman, Svensson etc, what do you suggest?
-
think its more likely Lowe listed more expensive players and indicated how much was needed to save and JP decided where the prioroties lay.
