  1. I've not seen any team this weekend that looks as least competitive in this league as we do. Cant see us beating Bournemouth on the evidence of last night for example. You just know their £40 million striker will open his account against us. Let that sink in, Bournemouth have a £40 million striker and we have fucking Sheffield Utd's failed forward line from last season. Wolves look streets ahead of where we are. Everton can at least score as long as DCL stays fit, even if they do chuck away two goal leads for fun. I couldn't see us going to Villa and doing what they did last evening. As a support base we blithely assumed we'd pick up points v Forest and Brentford, two of the so called 'weaker' teams. The former won at Anfield and the latter gave City a game by all accounts yesterday. We are so far out of our depth both in terms of players, their experience and the experience, or lack thereof the manager. We really did look like a plucky lower league team playing Man U in the cup yesterday. Throw the kitchen sink at them in the first 30mins knowing that there would be only one outcome if we didn't score whilst doing so. We'll likely win a few games, but not many. To put it in perspective in 22/23 during Ralph's last few months in charge prior to the World Cup we had 12 points in the first 13 games, 7 from the first 4, we're nowhere near that level of competitiveness this season. So I'll take the odd bright moment this season when and if they come and try to be as positive as possible. I don't get the embarrassment emotion that some express on here when it comes to Saints. It is what it is.
  2. Summed us up in a nutshell.
  3. Nearly a third, yet again Stephens is the issue.
  4. There’s a hammering underway here.
  5. Same thing again put someone on the edge of the box at corners.
  6. Good save there
  7. Well there we go
  8. Good save Ramsdale
  9. Lesley’s a f***ing unit
  10. My parents lived in Blandford St Mary just up the hill from the brewery. Always used to stock up at the shop when visiting. Tanglefoot will always be my go to H&W beer. Both parents no longer with us so it’s been a few years since I’ve been that far south or west. Not so keen on the hint of elderflower in Golden Champion nor ginger in Blandford Fly. Can’t get Wicked Wyvern in supermarkets hereabouts so can’t comment on that. The one I really never liked has been seemingly discontinued which was Shapwick Monster. Like Duckie I have a Perfect Draft machine. I’m quite partial to their range of Belgian beers. Got a Mont Blanc La Rousse keg for something different, saving it for Xmas as I’mtrying to drop 8-10 kilos in time for Alps cycling trip next Julyi
  11. I was 5 going on 6. I can remember visiting grandparents in Haywards Heath when the snow started and being pulled around the streets by my aunt and uncle. My dad was stationed at Boscombe Down and we lived in a farmhouse annex in a place called Little Wishford which was just off the A36. The snow and ice was piled so high up on the pavement walking to the local school meant actually facing oncoming traffic hoping that they'd see us. The Wilts and Dorset buss were the scariest. Oh yeah the 70s were great.
  12. Agree.
  13. His Brighton team didn't score freely
  14. Yes and one I thought maybe CDAJFU.
  15. That was my feeling, although i thought we'd only get 2 from out first 5; a point against Forest and lose the two away games, United loss and get squeeze a point at Dean Court.
  16. A few weeks ago randomly on social media I came across a post by someone who suggested that Everton would get more points deducted this season than we would gain.
  17. Clearly not working but replace with who though and indeed when?
  18. Going on the comments here, we hate us too!
  19. Yeah but that's what you've got to do these days
  20. I’m sure you’ll get over it.
  21. My take on JWP is that had he stayed last season Smallbone would have not got a look in at least not on a regular basis. I like Smallbone and kind of hoped he could kick on and become almost a natural replacement for JWP but there are sufficient question marks about his capacity to do do at this level. I like his late arrivals in the box last season and he ultimately did us proud in the play-offs, but Id swap in a heart beat for JWP.
  22. First thing this morning my daughter messaged me. Can we go to see Oasis? Brit Pop came along when I was mid/late 30s around the time she was born. Whilst I get it, it was just background music to adulthood so it’s been something retrospective journey. Personally, now in my 60s I always appreciate finding gems that I missed in the past like Radiohead, the Manics and Richard Ashcroft/The Verve to name a few. I know there’s a lot I’ve missed out but they’re part of the exploration. Put simply, I can’t remember the last time I knowingly listened to Oasis as opposed to others I’ve mentioned so it’s a no from me.
  23. Good point. Evidently they're about to get their pants pulled down by Arsenal. £30m for Nketiah, but they've got that sort of money, we don't.
  24. I think we could get away with one as an occasional sub but both on for the majority of the game isn't going to work at this level.
  25. I agree. Massive learning curve for all especially RM.
