And previous seasons?
-
I'm a country boy, born on a farm, once went to a meet forming up, interesting spectacle soon got bored. I'm not for or against hunting. I just think the people around hunts seem a lot more normal than the anti hunt activists that seem the same sort of wierdos that seem to inhabit 'peace camps', demonstrations etc tilting at windmills. If they really wanted to help the world helping to feed the homeless would be a start.

Happy Christmas everybody.

Good player gets goals but I think he has had several spells out injured and hasn't played much more than 60 % of games this season. We need a lot better than that for £3m. I'd prefer a striker with a 90 % fitness record at least.

Try to email customerservices@performgroup.com they are the operators of Saints Player I believe. jsibley@saintsfc.co.uk Runs the Saints twitter feed and would know how to direct you.

Thanks OSM, Happy Christmas to you.

Teams have to compete for about the first hour to earn the right to play, that means to me in the really tight competitive games giving Hammond and Cork the nod. Schneiderlin coming on with the other two to close out the last twenty minutes works, as does starting in central midfield in the less competitive games but not as an attacker or wide midfielder. Having said that any two from three still gives us an effective midfield however the goal output from central midfield is poor and that makes for a real lack of goals when the three play together.

I couldn't have put it better.

You have misinterpreted what I said, I feel that Richardson has to play differently if De Ridder is wide right. He needs to be about 15 yds narrower to be able to play the ball to the corner and support on the inside. Too often De Ridder has to take the ball facing his own goal he needs the midfielders to put him behind the defence with angled through balls to use his pace. Then Richardson supports in the inside channel or the outside if De Ridder moves inside. At the moment he takes up a touchline position that makes De Ridder face him and have to play into our midfield or back to Richardson. There is no point in a quick wide player if he isn't given the right service.

Leave him at Brentford playing games with an instant recall clause if needed.
-
I like him but I think he needs decisive passing from midfield and behind to put him in behind the defence. 4 goals in few games especially playing in weakened teams. He needs less overlapping and more support.

Some of the rule changes over time have caused this problem. Handball used to be easy, ball to hand no, hand to ball yes, covering vital parts when hit no. Any hand on a player wherever and for whatever reason should be a foul there is no place in football for hands to be used in any way. Letting it go just makes it worse. It's a blight on the game. Years ago if somebody grabbed a shirt it usually ended with an elbow somewhere and referees let it go. What idiot thought up the latest offside debacle, either make it when the ball is played without any played on by contact with an opponent or get rid of it altogether.

So where did the long accepted term 'colour' bar come from. It's about time these politically incorrect idiots were weeded out. Just treat everybody as people irrespective of colour. Racism exists across the globe and whites suffer as much as any in parts of the world. This was nonsense and Hansen has done nobody any favours by apologising

With approximately £90m of unearned income if we get promoted this year there is no way he will want to miss out on that. Next year is irrelevant and this year is a real bonus, already the manager has said we are looking to bring in one or two players, I think he might well bring in more than that.

Good enough to score 8 league goals for the worst team in the league.

Maynard may well choose not to sign for anybody in January, he can make a killing on a free transfer in 6 months time. Sharp hasn't played a lot of games this season although he is scoring goals, we would have to be sure apart from new injuries that he can stay out of the treatment room. Jutkawiecz may be a more robust option.
-
Do I care about Jason Puncheon? No he is at QPR. Are the club prepared to wipe the slate clean and put him back in the first team squad? I haven't a clue. If they decide that he can start anew then I will be delighted, as he is another player that can do a job for us in the right circumstances. We want automatic promotion preferably winning the championship and as much strengthening as possible to give us the best chance and the addition of Puncheon would give us an extra versatile attacking player along with the targets already identified. We'd be bloody mad to be anti if Adkins takes him back. As far as I'm concerned if they want him back so do I.
-
Sharp does spend a fair bit of the season not playing. Maybe it's a 40 games a season player we need, however efficient he is if we signed him and he didn't play much it wouldn't help us.
-
I can see it happening at the end of the season if we go up, A new first team goalkeeper, Davis gone or backup, A third keeper brought in as cover now and Bart gone to keep goal for another team on a regular basis either on loan or permanent, we owe him that, look how well he did at Barnsley. If we don't go up Davis stays No1. Bart has gremlins between the ears and needs to play regularly to get his career back on track.

There is no doubt the management know we are in a place they probably didn't anticipate in the summer. They also know they will probably not have a better opportunity than we have now. I would be surprised if they didn't take steps to reinforce the squad with a bit more quality. A striker and who knows, but I can't see Cortese and Adkins allowing the threadbare make do and mend of the last five matches to happen again.
-
We need somebody who can play in the same attack as Lambert and in the event of a Lambert injury play as the target man, of those mentioned Jutkeiwicz is the nearest to that. Another striker of that sort gives us all sorts of options to change things if everybody is fit and if not, like recently, more options than there has been. In my view a goalkeeper, centre back, attacking midfielder and striker would allow us a bit of breathing space, after all it's probably the best chance we will ever get to get promotion, a bit of insurance and strengthening will lift everybody.
-
I'd now keep him until the end of the season, a versatile player that we are missing with Chaplow injured. We would have been better with him than without him. That is subject to him being able to fit in to the team togetherness otherwise sell him.
-
This is a very relevant point. I have always held the view that unless the attackers can bring definite defensive qualities, such as Lambert in the air, to these situations, just having them there allows the opponents into the box. Keeping three useless defenders up would not weaken our defence but would force the opponents to take people out of our box to cover them and the space in between. In the end five would probably be the maximum opponents to mark. Schneiderlin nearly always loses his man and rarely wins a defensive header. Defending crosses is easier if the dominant headers attack the ball rather than try and run interference on the opponents, that should be left to the less effective defenders. Fonte, Hoiveldt and Lambert close marking is stopping them effectively attacking the ball. The fewer in the box the easier it is for the dominant defenders to win the ball.

If UKIP didn't stand, their vote would probably go Conservative. For example if UKIP had pulled out of Southampton Itchen, John Denham wouldn't have been elected MP.

He doesn't need to hand in a transfer request because he has a £3m release clause which comes into effect on the 1st Jan 2012. There is no way he would put in a transfer request as it would cancel any loyalty bonuses he has coming.
