At the moment, two from Schneiderlin/Cork/Hammond in central midfield, Lallana left, De Ridder right, Guly and Barnard up top with Lallana to fill in and Holmes to replace him if Barnard/Guly couldn't last the game. Hopefully Lambert will be back but I'd be surprised to see Chaplow anytime soon. Knees are dodgy. As an afterthought possibly Butterfield to fill in up front.

Bill, in my opinion we lose the essential balance if we play the three central midfielders in the same team. The team selection in the two away matches and the first half v Hull was the problem. All season we have managed by only playing two out of three except to negatively close out a game and it has worked beautifully until Chaplow disappeared. From then on the preferred selection has been all three and the blend and balance is lost. Guly isn't a lone striker, even if Barnard is not fit for a full game he was the only alternative, De Ridder seems best as an out and out wide player but only seems to start as a hybrid forward which doesn't seem to work either. I think Lallana is being given too much credit and isn't the same player at the moment that he was before the injury. Lambert was a big miss but we should have been able to cope with Doncaster. It's all very well changing systems but if the personnel aren't gelling as a team it won't matter how the team is changed. The preferred team up to BC was round pegs in round holes since then it has been a case of the three midfielders selected together, they may well be some of the better players but we can't operate with all three in the side, there is no penetration and everything is too slow and deliberate.

If it's any consolation when my company three times in four years switched aircraft I had previously flown at the base I was at, I found it quite difficult to switch between types despite the familiarity, but after a shortish period I was very comfortable again. I was in late thirties early forties at the time. Subsequently I retired and after three years was tempted back part time and at 63 had no problem converting to a tricky aircraft I had never flown before. If you are struggling take advice from a specialist. It could be that the old familiarity and comfort zone is yet to kick in.

David Frost, Andrew Lloyd Webber, but I wouldn't have classed them as fans.

Hypothetically in the alleged circumstances given the row, could it have been the beloved wife's alleged reaction that was the problem.

Within a couple of days of the Administration I spoke to Mark Fry and he quoted £15m negotiable approx including change for everything including buying the stadium.

Being more a follower of this thread than a contributor I can issue a cautionary word. The people on here only have to be right once, Portsmouth have to get away with it every time, what's the chances of that I wonder. The Lithuanian / Latvian governments could possibly prove more difficult to circumvent.

I certainly have no intention of spending the rest of the evening in a meaninless argument fest with you as I find your stupidity boring. All I have done is put in my opinion as I see it which is what this forum is for. Your obnoxious meanderings ruin most of the threads you post on. I said more worryingly he didn't show that he had the ability to to step up a league. It's what I saw, there is a question mark due to his lack of physical presence and pace. Last night he struggled and was looking for fouls whilst being well marked by the Hull defenders. Albeit for a short time it was still easy to see that he was below the mark at the moment. Given time he may well score goals.Time will tell.

He's all we've got at the moment after starting the season with four centre backs and bringing in Hoiveldt. What I am saying is that we are dangerously exposed down to three including the inexperienced Martin. Four experienced centre backs is right plus Martin. If we hadn't had the unavailability of Seaborne and Jaidi I suspect Martin may already be out on loan. If Hoiveldt is unavailable we have a problem both Fonte and Martin are very right sided, Fonte looks poor on the left, Martin despite a poor left foot does a more workmanlike job there. In my opinon we need to get either / both back asap or bring in a competent backup. Martin could go on loan further down the Championship or a decent side in div 1.

You really are a prat. My coaching qualifications really **** you off, don't they? All you do with most of your 13000 odd posts is reinforce the only conclusion one can come to, you are a nutter.

Usual know all drivel from the armchair, you won't see a lot sat at a keyboard but that never stopped you making an ass of yourself. Unlike you I was at the game and Barnard looks a long way from being ready for starting. As for Martin he has a distribution problem despite being a physically decent stopper and not playing isn't improving him. Tyro doesn't apply to children's leagues it is used in the context of apprentice / improver / inexperienced etc. He has only made a handful of appearances and loans are how the big clubs develop their improvers by getting them into more competitive environments where they can develop. He is our only centre back in reserve and anybody who thinks Schneiderlin or Cork would cope as starting centre backs for a month or more at the top of the Championship are deluding themselves. Our experienced, competent backup for central defence and central striker/targetman is a bit thin on the ground at the moment. An injury to either or even both positions could well and truly derail our excellent position before we could do anything about it.

In my personal view with regular starting and the team adjusting to his pace naturally due to familiarity he would be even better.
-
Every home game he has featured in. You have missed the point I was making. He can and has gone wide to the byeline. He can come inside as a preferred option but is forced to come inside most of the time because he doesn't get ball in front of him but either square or behind him. Richardson needs to make the angle for the through ball or pass in front to be played otherwise it reduces De Ridder's options.

Didn't a financial company receive the season ticket money and is paying PFC by the match so underwriting the ST holders?
-
I realised after leaving for the game that of course the Administrator sold to Chanrai and He sold to CSI, therefore it would be entirely possible if CSI default that PFC reverts to Chanrai.

Like a lot of naturally talented players Guly is enigmatic and instinctive but nobody can argue that he doesn't add value to the team. We have workers in Cork and Hammond that balance him out. For me there is one thing that would give him more value, when Davis aims for Lambert he often doesn't get ready for the inevitable flick on. As soon as Davis kicks the ball he should be running into the appropriate channel to receive the flick on, but he is often stood watching to see what happens next. Strikers should always gamble and make the run every time as sooner or later the ball will drop for them.

Post war record! Bradford P.A. hold the record 25 consecutive League victories at home. In the top 10 now still some way to go. Here's hoping.

I think Adkins is a terrific manager but he got it wrong at Bristol on Saturday by replacing Chaplow with Schneiderlin and compounded that by starting him wide midfield with Cork,Hammond and the not fully fit Lallana last night. The result was entirely predictable. Chaplow gave us effort and energy, Schneiderlin gives us safety and keep ball passing so the normal early high tempo was missing together with a lack of penetration. Fair play to him he changed it at half time although it really needed changing earlier. De Ridder was a breath of fresh air. He gave us the pace and dynamism that upped the whole tempo and importantly restored the natural balance allowing more room for Lallana to play and allow him to steal in and score unmarked. De Ridder is suffering at the moment through not being a starter and so being a natural part of the team play. Part of his problem is Richardson continuing to play the way he always does. De Ridder needs a slightly different pattern to get the best out of his pace, Richardson plays very close to the line and overlaps the orthodox midfielder coming inside and creates the width and crosses that sometimes lead to goals. De Ridder is a different kettle of fish altogether he has the pace to take teams apart down the right and the last thing he needs is Richardson or anyone else running into the space he needs to get to the byeline or behind the defence. Equally with Richardson tight to the line and De Ridder taking up a wide position in front of him it is almost impossible to play him down the line. When De Ridder is playing, Richardson needs change his play to be slightly infield to make the angle to allow the pass in front of De Ridder to allow him to run at the defenders, then support him either inside or outside if De Ridder cuts in or if blocked off has to check out. De Ridder was the fundamental difference yesterday and was instrumental in raising the tempo that created the environment that manufactured the win. We need to adapt to his ability which would give us a potent threat down the right. The other problem for him is the bias we have in playing a high percentage of passes to the left leaving him in superb positions alone wide right but ignored and the ball played down the congested left side.
-
After his long absence Barnard understandably looks well off the pace, more worryingly he didn't show that he had the ability to step up a league, he certainly isn't worth a place at the moment. We really have no replacement for Lambert without changing the tactics, also there is no quality cover for either of the centre backs especially the left sided Hoiveldt. Martin is still a tyro and needs to go out on extended loan to get games under his belt, unfortunately he is the only cover.
-
If the Administrator sold PFC to CSI and Chanrai is only owed money, is there a mechanism that would allow him any access to PFC other than to be a creditor? Administration would not allow him access. The new Administrator (AA) would surely have to decide what to do with PFC as long as it remains solvent as an asset of CSI.

I sensed a bit of complacency / counting chickens in some of the quotes from players. I thought that BC was the banana skin and if we didn't dominate from the start we may struggle. There have been a number of occasions in the past where a poor performance, ie. Walsall, Orient last year, Leicester and Cardiff this year has brought about instant reappraisal and a refocusing of the teams inner force. A defeat in these circumstances can have a positive effect and put a bomb under any relaxation. On the playing side very likely without Chaplow we need to replace his energy, Stroller won't do that, maybe give Lallana a rest and play De Ridder, unless both are played, which would be my choice, but only two from three of the central midfielders, we play too much in front of the opposing defence and are too one paced with all three together, ok to close out a game in the lead but not to start.

People keep mentioning Ryan Doble as a striking option, he has had various loans but has done little that would make one think he could step up from that level to the top of the Championship. He is hardly a regular goalscorer at any level yet.
