The correct designation was HA 1112 Buchon which was the Merlin engined model first flown in 1954. The Spanish were given a licence plus 25 airframes of the Me109 G in 1942. They were supposed to get DB 605 engines, but there weren't enough to go around, so they used an Hispano Suiza engine in the 25 airframes plus any they built after the war, until they developed the Buchon.

It could just be that the father sees the son as a nice little earner and the sooner the better. It always seems to be the father making the Arsenal comments.

If he is on a free/nominal fee he would be a useful addition. We need another tall front man as an alternative and a backup to Lambert.
-
I've seen him playing for S****horpe, then his half season with Saints plus the odd tv game, I was expecting him to have stepped up a gear from then but he was still the same. I wouldn't be overenthusiastic if he signed but we would need to sign a leader to play central midfielder with him. I'd be surprised if we sign him.
-
I'm not writing him off, I am saying I'm not sure he is what we need. Schneiderlin is similar in many respects I can't see them as a pair. As I said previously we need a leader/driver in midfield, neither Cork or Schneiderlin are a leader. I never said he wasn't talented but he was unambitious and ultra safe, Gibbs on the other side was the opposite, adventurous. He was out of position but has played there before, however he didn't show anything other than to play sideways and back. In any event I'd be surprised if we signed him. It's only paper talk a bid has been accepted and other sources put that wide of the mark.

Another catty post. At least I've bothered to learn something about the structure of the game to base my opinions on. I also respect other opinions even if I disagree with them, you just spout your opinions as fact with little or no respect for anybody, which is why you get little respect from others.

Probably both Merlins. It is likely the Messerschmitt was a Spanish Casa 112.
-
Our left back didn't seem to be stopped from attacking and how would I know? Do you?
-
Another over reaction from you. Has it never occurred to you that there is always room for other opinions. I don't rate Davis although the coaching he is getting is showing some improvement, as for Cork, he will more than likely go somewhere else and in any event would need to show a lot more than he did yesterday.
-
Even playing out of position he looked unambitious and most of his passing was safety first sideways and back. There is no way he could play in the same midfield as Schneiderlin. Chaplow maybe, but he looks like he is still an unambitious defensive midfielder which we don't need. We do need a driver in midfield that will make us play.

Spot on, he is a runner with lightning pace, neutered, playing in teams that want win the pass statistics. He should have gone to MU.

Millwall and Burnley plotting swoop for Saints' Seaborne
derry replied to Wes Tender's topic in The Saints
No, but if there is blame being apportioned, it was who allowed Seabourne to be exposed to possibly the quickest, most aggressive forward in Div 1 rather than him being beaten for pace when left without cover. -
I expect a sell on added value clause. The big clubs still don't get it yet.

Millwall and Burnley plotting swoop for Saints' Seaborne
derry replied to Wes Tender's topic in The Saints
Dan Harding was the real cause of the Peterborough goal. His positioning forward and left of Seabourne removed all Seabourne's options and took himself out of the game. He should have dropped off behind Seabourne to cover the only threat, MacHail-Smiths run past Seabourne, that would have made Harding the last man instead of Seabourne, who, if he had manhandled CMS would have been sent off. It meant that if Harding had covered, Seabourne could have stopped CMS and at worst been yellow carded and failing that Harding could have driven CMS wider meaning it would be unlikely that Davis would have been beaten at the near post. He was also at fault for the goal at the corner, facing away from his marker he lost sight of him and allowed him to get across him and score. If he had faced the opponent he could still have watched the ball but the forward wouldn't have been able to get across him. Blaming Seabourne for not being as quick as CMS is rediculous, Harding knew that but still didn't cover him. -
It's called 'keeping options open'.

Walcott going to Arsenal was in my opinion a mistake. He had blistering pace but wasn't a natural ball player/passer so Arsenal have spent the last four years trying to make him into a passing cog footballer, part of the great overall plan. Man Utd would have concentrated on the pace and given him the room to use it, whilst slowly improving the rest. Chamberlain would be mad going to Arsenal, although he sees himself as a central midfielder I can't see it. Arsenal and wide players aren't compatible.

These rumours are just that. I've got my son to brief Brian re Saint's attitude to breaking confidentiality/media comments. If Saints are doing anything in that direction, as Brian is keen to join us, it would be a surprise if he or anybody connected to him makes any premature comments. His contract has two years to run so there is no pressure on him to do anything although it is obvious that Reading's mix it style doesn't suit his. He'd fit in well at Swansea though.

£10m cash on the nail + sell on clause and bye bye. I can see Arsenal, MU and Liverpool blinking first at paying up front. He could well be here next year which if there is an unfulfilled chase this summer could be a bad thing. Unless he buys into staying before pre season starts he should be sold on.

Haven't SAAB been unable to pay their bills since their takeover?

He certainly supported a group of my friends who were raising money for the hospice where one of their group had died. He did this for nothing.

I remember there was a lot of criticism of the club at the time, for not doing something, or having nothing to do with the Mayflower event. It was common knowledge and as for the charities that benefited and how much, I suggest you pm 'the Gaffer' who I'm sure could arrange an answer from Mike Osman. I seem to remember something about the Ex Saints and their charities being the way the money was distributed.
-
Mike Osman is a decent person. I know him well. He gives up an enormous amount of his time to help people raise money for all sorts of charitable causes. Although he can demand large fees for performances he gives his time willingly without charge. He is a man I have a lot of time for.

Terry Paine wasn't bought in. He was playing Hampshire League as an amateur for Winchester City and in the Saints/CPC youth team that reached the youth cup semi finals v MU.

I haven't heard the real reasons apart from Adkins and Lambert saying he had been carrying an injury early on but halfway through the season until the end he was still pysically not the dominant player of last season although he did provide more assists than individual goals in the box.
