9-0 anyone? Even as it is, 6-0 is ridiculous in a derby game.
-
The table doesn’t lie at this stage, every team from 12th down has problems, it’s a proper scrap this season.
-
Got some of the bad luck back from the early games in the season where we were robbed in more than a few games. One point off safety and we’re well and truly back fighting in the relegation battle.
-
Even with the ref obviously wanting this result, no excuse for not sweeping this bunch of utterly irrelevant cheating ****s aside.

Blimey. Bad day.

One year on. Ukraine still stands.

Was the voice of football for me growing up, it’s a sad day. RIP

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64718305 Been an excellent tournament from England to retain the trophy, albeit not against the strongest opposition. The unbeaten run under Weigman goes on, 29 games with only 9 goals conceded in those games.

What was that from Pope!?

Never. Ever. EVER. Include Saints on an accumulator.

So that’s a third of our points this season so far from Chelsea Fantastic win. Although it looks like results haven’t gone our way today, come the end of the season we might be glad of some of the teams that lost today if they get dragged back in. Mara perhaps would have seen red on another day, but he’s clearly going for the ball, and unlike with a reckless tackle, clearly has no idea the player’s there. Azpilicueta was just wrong place wrong time. I absolutely refuse to believe that a season where we’ve done the double over Chelsea is a season we get relegated. We’re getting out of this.

That was a bloody good first half! JWP… nothing really needs to be said at this point. Ridiculously good.
-
That’s… actually impressive

Must have thought that Salah wouldn’t be able to get onto the cross. He’s had a nightmare there.
-
Everton probably should have scored there. One hell of a counterattack though, and Everton’s problem all season has been missing even their best chances.
-
As bad as Jones’ results with us were, he still had a better record in 2023 than Klopp has so far. Slightly surprising that Liverpool look the far better team against Everton so far
-
Pochettino is the obvious choice if we’re able to convince him to come in, although that seems unlikely. Doesn’t seem to be in the frame atm, but I wouldn’t be against Adkins coming in, since he was always good at getting the players to shut everything else out and focus on the next game. He probably wouldn’t be the worst option in the Championship next season either, if we don’t manage to somehow drag ourselves out of the bottom three (or two, depending on what happens with Man City)
-
Weird thing is, we were genuinely brilliant in that game, in every position. It was one of our most deserved wins against one of the top teams in years. Something came together in that game and it’s a shame Jones couldn’t drag that out of the players under the pressure of the relegation battle as well.

Played really well for the first 70 minutes, pressing well with the new signings giving us a far better presence up front for hold up play and a bit of a cutting edge. Then we stopped pressing, probably a combination of being against 10 men giving us a false sense of security and players tiring. Then a combination of an absolute horror show defending and the wrong subs too late did for us.

Nice to see you doing your bit for recycling bringing up those old fallacies yet again. I’ve lost count of how many times they’ve demonstrably been shown to be utterly ****witted now.
-
‘somehow’ otherwise known as Ryan Gosney, ridiculous game from Sholing’s keeper! Massive result, 12 point lead in the league now, albeit with Totton having three games in hand.
-
Couldn’t have been much worse overall today.
-
That’s only the second game Arsenal have lost this season, it certainly wasn’t all down to Dyche and Everton today.
-
Everton aren’t used to pressing like this, it’s already starting to look like they’re done this game.
-
Dyche’s main strength tends more towards making teams more difficult to beat and more difficult to score against. Everton’s main weakness is that they’ve only scored 15 goals in 20 games, 20% of those were by arguably their best striker this season, and he’s just been sold. That’s far worse than Burnley did in getting relegated. Obviously how the season plays out isn’t known yet, but today I’d far rather be in our shoes than Everton’s. I don’t think Everton have anything like the performance we showed against Man City in them, for example.
