  1. If you can breeze past a few posts on this thread about Sholing without complaining I’m sure you can manage the same for other matches you’re not interested in.
  2. Had a fair bit of coverage back when they extended the unbeaten run to 27 games. Also Google have done a doodle for yesterday’s match. https://g.co/kgs/JoJZpJ
  3. Made to work for it more than they would have wanted after scoring that fantastic goal, but winning a penalty shootout and extending the unbeaten run to 30 games, a run including wins against all the best teams the world has to offer… every time they’re only increasing what was already a legendary achievement.

Not sure calling them allegations is required any more. While the front lines have been relatively static for a while, the balance of power is constantly tilting further towards Ukraine. Bakhmut has become a target that Russia will pay any price to take, and Ukraine have been taking advantage of that. Ukraine have still been paying a terrible price of course, but losses have been extremely tilted towards Russia by all accounts, and holding the fighting in place has helped reduce civilian impact in other parts of Ukraine. The equipment available to each side is tilting Ukraine’s way too. Russia have been desperate enough to bring T54 tanks out of storage, while Ukraine now have Challenger II and Leopard 2 tanks available, and the disparity is similar across all equipment, not to mention the reports of Russian conscripts being sent to the front with little to no equipment and minimal training, while Ukrainian recruits have been training for months with various NATO armies. Also there have been Wagner’s public complaints of not being equipped well enough and suffering from a shortage of artillery shells. On top of that, Russia’s missile and drone attacks on civilian targets have been becoming more and more sporadic and less and less effective, through a combination of Russia running short of missiles, Ukraine’s air defence becoming more and more effective, as well as the end of winter reducing the impact of targeting energy infrastructure. It’s perhaps telling that there was no mass attack timed to coincide with Finland joining NATO, as it’s extremely unlikely Russia would have let that pass with no response, unless they simply weren’t capable of it.

That's one where there might be a little more behind it than meets the eye. As well as being a notorious proponent of Russia's actions in Ukraine, he was also one of Putin's more outspoken critics, and seemed to be aligned with Wagner. Might be one of the first visible signs of a rift between the Kremlin and Wagner growing wider, or of Putin starting to get paranoid (or at least wary) of Wagner's growing influence.
  7. The cheating ****s were literally holding defenders standing in offside positions.
  8. How they could possibly say none of those are interfering with play…

Most people don't need to think of a place as a second home to not want genocide to be committed there. Russia could end this entire conflict today with no further casualties, if they wanted to stop their illegal invasion and stop committing war crimes. Of course, they're not going to, instead they'll throw away a few hundred lives to inflict some misery and delay the inevitable a little longer. Then they'll do the same tomorrow. And the day after. They'll keep doing that until they can't. Ukraine don't have the same luxury. They could stop, but that wouldn't mean Russia would stop. It would mean they move unchecked through a country whose people they don't even consider human.

What would it cost to stand by and let a country and an army carry on as they wish, that’s been using murder, rape, and torture as tools to try and wipe a people from existence? That have been kidnapping Ukranian children and are even now bringing them up as Russian, never to know what it would have been like to grow up with their real families? Why do you support giving anything as a reward for that?
  12. Maybe! With 5 subs available it’s a slightly different game these days, but ‘what if…’ being the most common question in football hasn’t changed
  13. The counterpoint being that, if we start with that team, we don’t finish with it.
  14. Feels like since Selles took over, the players believe they can stay up. They might just be right.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-europe-64994087 Likely doesn’t make much real difference, maybe makes it less likely for some countries to overtly support Russia I guess. Really would be something to see if something unexpected happened in Russia itself and the **** actually ends up having to answer for the devastation he’s caused.
  16. Under Selles, Saints have lost to Leeds and Grimsby, taken 4 points from Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge, and beaten Leicester too. On top of that our away form is better than our home form. Looking at remaining fixtures and trying to predict them seems even less useful than normal! With 9 teams very much in the mix, if we can just keep picking up a few results from literally anywhere, we won’t need too much to go our way to end up safe.
  17. Yep. Saints recent form and being 5 points off 12th gives us a few extra routes to safety than you’d normally expect for a team that’s bottom at this stage of the season.
  18. Looking at RedCafe, you can tell the baseline for refereeing that they’re used to seeing at Old Trafford.
  19. We’re playing well enough to stay up, that’s an excellent point to pick up. Picking up all three would have been massive, but making up a point on 12th this weekend does quite a lot for our chances of getting ahead of three teams.
  20. If Brentford just manage to find something, it’s not looking too bad a set of results…
  21. Obviously a terrible result for us, but at least clearly demonstrates just how tight it is in the relegation battle this season. Any team picking up a few results from somewhere will suddenly look relatively comfortable, and Saints have already started doing that under Selles.

You’ve consistently shown just how daft you are are, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, but are you really trying to imply that damage in a warzone means that Ukraine has fallen?
  23. Terrible news, hope they catch whoever did it as quickly as possible.
  24. Yep, thought of the exact same question myself. I’d go through both 9-0s again without a second thought before ever even starting to consider 7-0 against Pompey.
  25. Man Utd fans won’t live that one down easily. Almost feel sorry for any that have to see Liverpool fans at work tomorrow morning.
