  1. Confirmed that the Prem are witholding the Sky money now.
  2. I thought that, but I reckon Liverpool probably can't afford to pay off Rafa's contract at the moment...
  3. maybe Saints fans making sure the game gets played before their players get back from the ACN?

  7. and now he's got two strikers on the pitch, neither of them playing up front, and a central defender playing up front.
  8. Hm. Obviously doesn't fancy Best to take a penalty then!
  9. Hehe, Pompey supporters have to endure at least another half hour of that... We get to sit and laugh for an extra half hour
  10. Pompey aren't shouting from the rooftops that they've had their embargo lifted, so I'm guessing not.
  11. Just about the only way you could see Pompey scoring...
  12. Can't see this finishing 1-0... Coventry are bound to score again.

  17. SAF (either of them) 'tis a long shot I guess...
  18. again already?
  19. So finding an interesting historical article and bringing it to the attention of fellow Saints fans, albeit with a badly worded title, is more pathetic than wondering whether we'll get taken over or taken off of teletext first then?

You might want to get it checked out regardless of how it feels, just in case you managed to trap a nerve.
  21. The game that had its name taken By Norman Fox After all of the historic notes and romantic notions had been presented ad nauseum, it was almost possible to believe that the FA Cup semi-final tie between Crystal Palace and Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday was to be something much more grand that the "losers' match". But the game quickly revealed itself as the largely incoherent ramblings of two teams of limited ability and one must hope, for the sake of healthy competition that Southampton, winners by 2-0, can play a great deal better at Wembley. Crystal Palace, attempting to become the first third division team to reach the final, deserved a fair hearing, having had a considerably harder journey to the semi final stage than Southampton. On the day, however, they were firmly of the third division and probably it was kinder to their ambitions to be beaten here rather than degraded at Wembley. There's the first paragraph of the article. 'Tis probably not working now because they haven't got a server able to cope with all of us looking at the same time lol. And I meant winning the final! Just meant that it was an incredible acheivement after we'd been put down so far after the semi final. As for the press have always had it in for us... my memories go back as far as Southampton always being favourites to go down, and seems that it hadn't changed since way back then.... Horribly generalised I know, and I guess I've got far too much into the habit of being sardonic, but that doesn't come across too well on the Internet.
  22. Our match report is below that. Drag the article up!
  23. No real point, I just found that old newspaper report of our FA Cup semi final and thought it was interesting! A couple of Palace Fans are STILL bitter than we bullied them off the park that day apparently.
  24. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1975%E2%80%9376_FA_Cup#Semi_finals follow the link to the match report from there... direct link isn't working. It really was an incredible achievement to win it wasn't it... http://archive.timesonline.co.uk/tol/viewArticle.arc?toDate=1976-04-06&fromDate=1976-04-04&currentPageNumber=1&resultsPerPage=10&sortBy=default&offset=0&viewName=&addFilters=&removeFilters=&addCat=&queryKeywords=Derby+County&sectionId=1040&currPgSmartSet=1&pageId=ARCHIVE-The_Times-1976-04-05-08&articleId=ARCHIVE-The_Times-1976-04-05-08-005&xmlpath=&pubId=17&totalResults=3&addRefineFilters=&removeRefineFilters=&addRefineCat=&next_Page=false&prev_Page=false&date_dd_From=4&date_mm_From=04&date_yyyy_From=1976&date_dd_to_range=6&date_mm_to_range=04&date_yyyy_to_range=1976&date_dd_from_precise=4&date_mm_from_precise=04&date_yyyy_from_precise=1976&isDateSearch=false&dateSearchType=range&refineQuerykeywordText=
