Munto Finance v Markus Liebherr (Notts County v Saints)

Considering County are the oldest club in the land, presumably there was room for them at some point... -
Gooooool waiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigo

rang about as true as Saints in League One on -10 suddenly having the 4th/5th richest owner in the country to be fair... -

'tis the equivalent of a good friend winning the lottery, in terms of how unlikely it was that this would happen to us. And while it doesn't make us rich, we still get some benefits... cheaper tickets, better stadium later maybe... and even better, we get to see them have a bloody good time with it and be a part of that -

Should Pardew rest players in JPT game ahead of Leeds?
Jimmy_D replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
You may think of it as a joke, but I suspect that a final of Southampton vs Leeds, two former Prem clubs, will raise its profile somewhat. Also, I'm 23, I've NEVER seen Saints win any silverware at all, unless you include the Ted Bates cup... I want to see us win this. -
David Connolly on a free is looking pretty damn good as well!
-
Looks like they're very much on borrowed time to me. It looks like the Prem will withold their Sky money to pay football creditors, esp. Watford and the ones that are in financial trouble. That leaves any other creditors that will have been promised some of the Sky money more than a bit peed off and one of them will more than likely try and pull the plug on them. Then it's just down to the administrators and whether they can make the creditors and any potential buyer agree on a price, or whether they're wound up and assets sold off to pay the creditors what they can...

Probably had a nice juicy story lined up about Saints' fall from grace into oblivion, or supports a rival team and has a mouthful of sour grapes now that he's only just realised from that email that we're not in financial trouble any more. Never mind that the debts were related to infrastructure and we already had new owners and money when we thought about buying Lambert...

Get the feeling it would have been easier to ask people what pundits they liked... Would have been a short thread tho!
-
Was brilliant to be a part of that Can anybody say how it sounded over the radio?
-
Penalties are part of the match no? aaaand http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/4790589.Saints_make_it_five_wins_in_a_row/?ref=mr The Echo disagrees
-
just because the result of the Torquay match would have been a draw in a completely different competition doesn't mean it should be counted as a draw. We won the match under the rules of the competition it was played in, hence should be counted as a win.
-
no difference between the top three really, same percentages of points, but then drops off a cliff off the podium. Makes a podium finish all the more valuable this season.
-
aye, thanks for that ^^ Hm... Just imagine... they struggle on and then go into admin after the cutoff date and get relegated. Meanwhile, Saints get promoted, enjoying two wins at Wembley. We'd be able to enjoy the entire summer being above Pompey as they'd have a points deduction
-
Just said on South Today that they've paid the £2m tax bill. Maybe they're not so close to administration after all.
-
Unfortunately, that dream relies on Pompey still existing next year...
-
the missing ten k...↲↲are made of more than ten k fans that go to less than all the games
-
IMHO, just because the result of the cup game would have been a draw IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT competition, does not mean that it should be considered a draw, as we won the game under the rules of the competition we were in. Whichever way you look at it... we're going well
-
WOOT! not even the Pompey win can dampen this day ^^ Almost every other result has gone our way as well... Can we win three more games than the teams above us over the course of the rest of the season? Very tempted to say we can now...
-
would be quite happy to see Yeovil take points off MK Dons tbh... we ARE in a promotion race now, first time this season I've believed it though
