only 9 points off playoffs as things stand... could turn out to be an excellent excellent day if things stay this way...

It'll be a long long time before we get a better chance than this to win a World Cup... Held in winter, the quality in the England team is very high, we have a fantastic manager that can actually get that quality to show itself, and a draw that's about as kind as it can be all the way to the final...

Looks like it's finally been sorted. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/formulaone/article-1233383/Silverstone-WILL-host-British-Grand-Prix-agreement-F1-ringmaster-Bernie-Ecclestone.html Great news.

If they do go under this season... do we get an extra promotion spot to aim for?
-
If Pompey did go under, we'd be the biggest club in a very large region. We'd probably see gates gradually start to increase over time as the Pompey-Saints hatred faded with time and new young supporters coming through support the big team near them... assuming we start heading back towards the Prem of course.

next target should be to reduce the distance to the playoffs to less than 10 points, so that we've made some ground on them compared to the start of the season...

rotherham or luton at home then...

Some Pentium Core 2 Duos can run at over 100C safely, but it depends on the individual processor. Also, measuring the temperature isn't always accurate. see http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/page-221745_11_0.html for a fairly in depth guide. Your processor will run hot as you're overclocking it, and this will shorten the life of it, so keep an eye on the behaviour of your computer and if you notice more crashes, pauses, etc. then put it back to stock speed. If your cooler isn't working as well as you think it should be, it may need reseating or the thermal grease that gives a good conductivity may need replacing. (note it is very easy to use too much) Also, whisper it quietly, but underclocking isn't always a bad thing. You get a more reliable computer that runs cooler, and the main benefit, quieter. Hope this helps.

in the patch notes.... Board Takeovers =============== - Stopped non-players who dislike a club from leading consortiums that are interested in taking them over. Not so sure Saints and Pompey fans will agree this was a bug lol

Even when it all looks like it's going wrong we manage to earn a point. Good signs.

league 1? pfft! Eastleigh for me!

I do like a person that can manage to project sarcasm across the Internet. 'Tis not an easy skill.

I like my one, in a kind of meta-humourous way. I made it myself.

if all else fails, use notepad actually, 'tis probably the best one to use to get things looking exactly how you want them in all the different browsers... *not so fondly remembers uni...*

seemed short to me as well... finished it the weekend it came out, but it just seems like that because it NEVER drags. It doesn't stop being fun from start to finish and the storyline holds the entire thing together fantastically well.

Is anyone interested in a Saintsweb FM2010 network game? Maybe set one up that includes a few people? Just putting the idea out there.

Football Manager 2010 - Build up thread for (30th October 2010)
Jimmy_D replied to Matthew Le God's topic in Computer Games
Have it working on Steam Could end up being a collectors edition... the last FM to include Pompey... Hopefully not though, we need our rival, makes our own success that much sweeter -
Dean Richards. Maybe could have been a good move but we'll never know because of the injury. Spurs must be sick of the defenders they get from us...
-
Thing is, if Pompey do manage to get the embargo lifted before January, what club in their right mind would sell them any players? They would worry that they wouldn't get any money from them!
-
Their squad probably isn't anywhere near good enough to stay up... This development effectively means the first player they buy (or even loan) has the price of their debts to football clubs lumped on top, and that will have discouraged any investors that were hoping to come in and just spend on the players to stay up in January and then hope the prem status was eventually going to pay off the debts. They really are in a mess.

I seem to remember from him being on Who Do You Think You Are that he had some links to Southampton, his grandad being from here or something... seem to remember he wasn't too happy about that particular link lol.

woah... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1223436/Pay-Pompey-Basement-club-Portsmouth-hit-Premier-League-transfer-ban.html Guess the Prem is starting to see that they're financially unviable as a going concern as well now... Looks like they're cutting them loose.
