  1. You may think of it as a joke, but I suspect that a final of Southampton vs Leeds, two former Prem clubs, will raise its profile somewhat. Also, I'm 23, I've NEVER seen Saints win any silverware at all, unless you include the Ted Bates cup... I want to see us win this.
  2. David Connolly on a free is looking pretty damn good as well!
  3. Looks like they're very much on borrowed time to me. It looks like the Prem will withold their Sky money to pay football creditors, esp. Watford and the ones that are in financial trouble. That leaves any other creditors that will have been promised some of the Sky money more than a bit peed off and one of them will more than likely try and pull the plug on them. Then it's just down to the administrators and whether they can make the creditors and any potential buyer agree on a price, or whether they're wound up and assets sold off to pay the creditors what they can...
  4. Probably had a nice juicy story lined up about Saints' fall from grace into oblivion, or supports a rival team and has a mouthful of sour grapes now that he's only just realised from that email that we're not in financial trouble any more. Never mind that the debts were related to infrastructure and we already had new owners and money when we thought about buying Lambert...
  5. Get the feeling it would have been easier to ask people what pundits they liked... Would have been a short thread tho!
  6. Was brilliant to be a part of that Can anybody say how it sounded over the radio?
  7. Penalties are part of the match no? aaaand http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/4790589.Saints_make_it_five_wins_in_a_row/?ref=mr The Echo disagrees
  8. just because the result of the Torquay match would have been a draw in a completely different competition doesn't mean it should be counted as a draw. We won the match under the rules of the competition it was played in, hence should be counted as a win.
  9. no difference between the top three really, same percentages of points, but then drops off a cliff off the podium. Makes a podium finish all the more valuable this season.
  10. aye, thanks for that ^^ Hm... Just imagine... they struggle on and then go into admin after the cutoff date and get relegated. Meanwhile, Saints get promoted, enjoying two wins at Wembley. We'd be able to enjoy the entire summer being above Pompey as they'd have a points deduction
  11. Just said on South Today that they've paid the £2m tax bill. Maybe they're not so close to administration after all.
  12. Unfortunately, that dream relies on Pompey still existing next year...
  13. the missing ten k...↲↲are made of more than ten k fans that go to less than all the games
  14. IMHO, just because the result of the cup game would have been a draw IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT competition, does not mean that it should be considered a draw, as we won the game under the rules of the competition we were in. Whichever way you look at it... we're going well
  15. WOOT! not even the Pompey win can dampen this day ^^ Almost every other result has gone our way as well... Can we win three more games than the teams above us over the course of the rest of the season? Very tempted to say we can now...
  16. would be quite happy to see Yeovil take points off MK Dons tbh... we ARE in a promotion race now, first time this season I've believed it though
  17. only 9 points off playoffs as things stand... could turn out to be an excellent excellent day if things stay this way...
  18. It'll be a long long time before we get a better chance than this to win a World Cup... Held in winter, the quality in the England team is very high, we have a fantastic manager that can actually get that quality to show itself, and a draw that's about as kind as it can be all the way to the final...
  19. Looks like it's finally been sorted. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/formulaone/article-1233383/Silverstone-WILL-host-British-Grand-Prix-agreement-F1-ringmaster-Bernie-Ecclestone.html Great news.
  20. If they do go under this season... do we get an extra promotion spot to aim for?
  21. If Pompey did go under, we'd be the biggest club in a very large region. We'd probably see gates gradually start to increase over time as the Pompey-Saints hatred faded with time and new young supporters coming through support the big team near them... assuming we start heading back towards the Prem of course.
  22. next target should be to reduce the distance to the playoffs to less than 10 points, so that we've made some ground on them compared to the start of the season...
  23. rotherham or luton at home then...
  24. booooo....
  25. Some Pentium Core 2 Duos can run at over 100C safely, but it depends on the individual processor. Also, measuring the temperature isn't always accurate. see http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/page-221745_11_0.html for a fairly in depth guide. Your processor will run hot as you're overclocking it, and this will shorten the life of it, so keep an eye on the behaviour of your computer and if you notice more crashes, pauses, etc. then put it back to stock speed. If your cooler isn't working as well as you think it should be, it may need reseating or the thermal grease that gives a good conductivity may need replacing. (note it is very easy to use too much) Also, whisper it quietly, but underclocking isn't always a bad thing. You get a more reliable computer that runs cooler, and the main benefit, quieter. Hope this helps.
