One other aspect where Saints were better off in the summer was that, while our previous owners might not have had the ability or the money to go about it the right way, they certainly wanted the best for the club. I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks Pompey's current owners don't necessarily have the club's best interests at heart.

Would signings in January strengthen the team or upset the balance?

I can't help but hope that we've got some signings lined up for Friday to be announced and completely surprise us all. -
I see Steve Wigley is in charge at Bolton... There's hope for Pompey yet!

Sms will look quite unique enough when it has an extra tier on 3 of the stands.

They haven't gone bust yet because no creditor has called in the debts that they haven't been able to pay yet. Lens suing will probably be the trigger that starts the beginning of the end unfortunately.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_George_(commercial) Appears it wasn't pulled after all! Just that they'd spent all their budget on making the thing and could only afford to show it 10 times... I'd always assumed it was banned because I saw it and then it was gone. Bloody brave thing to do, especially as Youtube and viral marketing didn't exist back then.

give it a few days. Lens are suing them for not keeping up repayments and are now entitled to the whole sum they're owed up front.

FM10 10.2 Patch and Data Update released
Jimmy_D replied to Matthew Le God's topic in Computer Games
Oh good, they finally got around to adding the 2009 skin... didn't get on with the new one they had at all... -
Oh I realise how unlikely it is, and I wouldn't bother putting any bets on any Pompey games after February just yet. (not that I normally bet at all normally anyway...) The deciding factor on whether they survive will be how much debt adminstration lets them walk away from.

Probably, yeah. But who here thought WE would get an owner reportedly the third richest in English football?
-
There is one way out for them, but it involves a very rich person coming in and taking over, paying everything off, like happened with us. It doesn't look likely I'll admit, but as long as they're still alive there's hope. I remember getting ready to just watch the Prem as an interested outsider with no team to support last summer but it turned out ok for us in the end A weekend is never nicer than when Saints have won and Pompey have lost... I don't want to lose that.

'Gearing up nicely for an unlikely playoff push' according to the highlights

Just back. We were by far the better team in the first half, went 2-0 up, they had a man sent off, got to half time. We were completely off the pace the second half, 2 up and cruising against 10 men I guess, but that let them score. That stung us awake and although we still struggled a bit, there was always the chance we'd score on the counter, and bringing Papa on was a good move, defender looked like he wasn't moving at all compared to Papa bursting past him to score the winner. Good three points all in all and top half and only 7 off of the playoffs now, although having played more games.

winning 6-3 against Man U... (you didn't say WHICH decade )

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6mGfqJAt0s I was lucky enough to see this before it was pulled from the TV. It's stuck in my mind ever since, so I guess it did its job!

3rd richest owner now? I guess that puts us just behind Chelsea and Man City then... I wonder if we'll end up doing the same as them... would be a dream to see us win the Prem eventually...
-
The fact that a loss is a distict rarity these days for Saints, and it was an honest even match that could have gone either way, helps as well.
-
still 9 points off playoffs... not such a bad day.
-
crap thought we'd scored.

ah crap >_

holy... wow! We CAN win this!
