  1. At least now, if Pompey do go out of business before the game, we can claim the last victory between the sides due to getting the bye...
  2. Don't think it'll beat the Pompey Takeover Saga somehow lol
  3. We've never lost to them in the FA Cup yet... Considering we're in League One now, this'll be the biggest test yet of that record. I'm gonna be bouncing around for days now looking forward to this In a way, we're in League One, they're in the Prem, we have nothing to lose, except it's Pompey, we NEED to win this...
  4. Already looking forward to this Especially if reports are to be believed that most of their players will walk next week... Hm I bet they're already working on getting a loan secured against expected income from the match...
  5. Pompey will prolly be our best bet of getting though. It'll be a bye if they go out of business before the match after all...
  6. And now for the Leeds reaction... http://www.waccoe.com/index.php?showtopic=172089
  7. If they still exist they'll either be in the Prem or the Championship, and the normal relegation and promotion rules will apply.
  8. The Prem would be unaffected, Pompey going out of business is the same as them getting relegated as far as number of teams are concerned, since a team will still come up to replace them. It's the Championship that would be missing a team that they were expecting (ie Portsmouth) They'd have the option of either relegating one less team or bringing an extra one up from League One. Either of those options of course mean that League One would be missing a team, so they'd have the option of relegating one less team or promoting an extra one from League Two. This would cascade right down the football pyramid.
  9. Hm We need to be careful, Leeds losing will probably give MK Dons more belief than it does us, we'll need to be on top of our game to get a result. Still, our away fans are a real credit to us, we'll be ok I reckon.
  10. Eastleigh are fun to play as on Football Manager.
  11. don't forget that they may well end up having to pay legal costs for this appeal as well, considering they've just lost it. The High Court isn't exactly cheap.
  12. I reckon that Pompey 'directed' the Prem to pay 5 million of the TV money to pay off creditors, so that they could then claim it was all their idea and say that they were owed the remainder. I also reckon that they owed more than 7 million to football creditors and the Prem haven't taken any notice of what Pompey have said and have just paid off as much as they can with the 7 million. Pompey can then claim that they directed the Prem to pay off creditors and that they are owed 2 million of the remainder, in an effort to gain sympathy and try and paint the Prem as the bad guy here. Pretty laughable really if I'm right.
  13. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2811970/Fury-over-Premier-League-lads-hope-we-lose-Facebook-post.html How low must morale be for this to happen?
  14. 'Tis the days like this that make it so so sweet when it all comes together right. Gutted right now though.
  15. This way it appears that it was Pompey's choice. They knew it'd go this way, so they instructed them to pay the other clubs so that they could claim it was their choice. Silly move though, the HMRC might not look too kindly on Pompey choosing themselves to pay off football creditors ahead of tax. A provision already being imposed by the football league on TV revenue would be different, but now that Pompey are claiming it was their choice...
  16. Point. Yeah, I guess the value of anything a loan is secured on can lose its value.
  17. well, apart from those secured on houses etc I guess the next few days will be fairly revealing now that the money has been held though, could be a bad week for them. Just gonna sit back and watch I guess.
  18. Would they have been allowed to actually secure loans on money they weren't absolutely guaranteed of recieving? Presumably the contract or whatever had the clause that lets the Prem redirect it when they took out the loan... I'd imagine they've borrowed against expected TV income but not actually secured it against it, unless there's something legally fishy gone on (and you'd never expect that from Pompey, right?)
  19. Confirmed that the Prem are witholding the Sky money now.
  20. I thought that, but I reckon Liverpool probably can't afford to pay off Rafa's contract at the moment...
  21. maybe Saints fans making sure the game gets played before their players get back from the ACN?
