Burnley have been a bogey team for us, nice to finally(!) win at Turf Moor. Did well to limit Burnley’s chances but they didn’t make it too difficult for us.

Maybe Spurs are planning on telling him they're shooting the other way. It'll be non-stop attacking through-balls from him. In all seriousness, there's a good player there for Spurs, especially if a manager manages to take advantage of the stuff he's good at (which he's VERY good at) and minimise the stuff he's not so good at. Whether Mourinho is that manager, time will tell.

Unfortunately some players join Saints because they see us as a stepping stone. It's worth it for Saints because we generally end up with better players than we'd otherwise have had and usually end up making a profit. I'm certain we'll have tried to extend contracts, and some we do manage to keep for longer, but if they've joined with an eye on the exit door you'll never get them to sign an extension.

That's not exactly a new idea... Ultimately it's not in the club's control to do that.

Sounds like we had an acceptable offer from Everton and were just giving Hojbjerg a choice between Everton or staying. That made Spurs blink and match the offer.

Never any guarantees with transfers of course, but seems like we've got a player that's already good, with absolutely massive potential, for a bargain price there. Nicely done Saints.
