  1. Thanks for that info, Mr Nice and Gordon. That is a relief. I am still waiting hopefully for a decent (Swiss) purchase.
  2. No, but hope lives on (just). I am sure that there are things I should be doing and not scouring this site for the news.
  3. So we cannot be sure that the Swiss will win the Saints. Keith Harris also has a "consortium" according to the article. Does that group include Lowe, I wonder? Please, Noooooooooooooooooooo...................
  4. Positive thinking there, Mole. Let us get a good takeover first though, please!
  5. Let's have the Swiss billionaires, please! No more dreamers, thanks.
  6. We certainly seem to be a magnet for certain types..................
  7. I seem to have been following this thread for years and we still are not "THERE" yet. All this hoping, speculation and waiting for confirmation of a real takeover by wealthy investors is leaving me just a little unbalanced:rolleyes: After 12 years of failure to add investment, fiascos like SISU and myths like P Allen, let alone twice relegation, we deserve some good news, dont we? PLEASE!
  8. First time that I have heard the word "thin" as an adjective to describe Rupert. I have heard a few too.......
  9. Only if they can yodel.[-o
  10. I agree completely with TDD on this one. Of course if Barclays or Rupert had had the good sense to pull the plug out a week earlier, we would have had the points off last season- relegation anyway- and the baby would not have been chucked out with the bathwater. Ah! the joys of hindsight. For heavens sake accept the -10 and buy the Club; if you really do have THE MONEY!
  11. Agree with all the above. Mr Fry needs to offer a SALE price pdq.
  12. If we were called " West Ham" would the league have banned the right to appeal or even deducted the points in the first place?
  13. If someone wrote a novel or a TV Soap opera of all this, the critics would tell us that the story was an unbelievable flight of fancy; no reality. Ah well, after 10 years of the mushroom treatment, a few more hours of suffering...................................
  14. Posts 24 (Lordswood Saint) and 29 (LTC) say it all really. I just hope Pinnacle don't back out rather than sign up to get the deal done. Surely a contract signed under duress when the Football League have broken their own rules (if they have) could be challenged later in the High Court; at the cost of a fortune in legal fees, though.
  15. How wonderful that our potential Directors take the time and trouble to keep us "in the picture," whilst still dealing with complex confidential matters. Saints fans are not accustomed to being treated with respect in recent years, are we? I shall take hope from T.L.s last two lines and stop worrying until Monday afternoon.
  16. By their rules that is true. Yet after what they did to Bournemouth, Luton and others in trouble, I reckon we'd be better off agreeing. Going to court later as a contract signed under duress might not be held legal sounds good but the League would probably escape on some technicality and then dock us even more points.
  17. It is good to be kept informed of the situation. My understanding, which may be entirely wrong is that the league management consists of some paid employees and a group of other clubs chairmen. Hardly an independent, unbiased body in my mind to give us a fair hearing. It seems they can make up their own rules and revise the interpretation as they go along. If you don't agree they dock more points and or see you go bust.
  18. The F.A. are a bunch of gentlemen and the F.L. are a collection of ................( Fill as you wish) who are linked by a loathing of Saints and all things Saintly! It is time that we adopted Fergies SIEGE MENTALITY is it not?
  19. FL, surely. Not the FA?
  20. It won't be Paul Allen. But then I am not ITK
  21. Although M. Wotte's results were not much worse than N.Pearson's, (and a lot of forum posters were keen on keeping Nigel) Most supporters considered Wotte to be weak on tactics and adapting to situations; eg lone striker or no width. I will be grateful to have a team to support next season and if the PROSPECTIVE new owners think MW is the man then so be it- it is their money until we buy our tickets. With minus too many points we need to get off to a flying start and score a sackful of goals without the leakages of the last few years. Might be best if MW reverts to Youth Team Coach.
  22. Congratulations Nickh. I expect to reach 20,000 posts by the year 2917. We should be back in the premiership by then.
  23. I was feeling almost optimistic until I read MIKEC's post. Now I'll head for the bottle!
