I do not think he has failed if you take the whole season into account, but I cannot see how anyone can say he took the FA Cup seriously when he let his assistant appear to be in charge and left him to explain how poor we were on the day.

Remember taking my son on the football special to FA cup 3rd round match at Leicester in 1982 during the Kevin Keegan era, trip up went well but we lost 1-3 but the return journey was awful as the "yoofs" dads decided the train was too luxurious and it would be better if they stripped all of the seats etc and threw them off, We spent a fair bit of time enjoying the company of the BT bill taking statements from everyone just outside Reading and although I have used trains again it has never been on a "special".

Thought Dowd did a good job yesterday. We keep being told that we must not let TV interfere with the game but I have noticed that when referees make a howler in giving a corner that should not have been that they receive a comment from the fourth official on there system and they then always give a free kick to the defending team so they are doing it without admitting to it.

I agree its horses for courses as I would not want to sit in the Northam with my grandsons but if its a game like Pompey when we did not take them I would love to be there.

I also think that taking the responsibility for set pieces help Lallana's play as well.
