    What song

All I got was this The requested URL http:// was not found on this server.
  2. I actually knew him a few years back as like me he was a keen chess player and played in various tournaments in London. He was very aloof and I was one of the few people he talked to. Fair to say there was a certain arrogance about him so his manner on Eggheads is fairly typical of him I'd say.
  3. Now there is a surprise !
  4. Some pretty awful tackles on here as well as Zidane's head butt and few other gems! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qRtx8vHf5s
  5. As always of course with these big meetings so many of the races are so wide open you could pick half the field and still not find the winner. However, again since ATR have their free tipping challenge my "selections" are : 2.30 Infiraad at around 5/1 3.05 Finding it hard to oppose Lush Lashes in what is frankly quite a poor field. As Hatch stated Eva's request is a Channon horse but for once I'm going to stick with the favourite so Lush Lashes it is 3.45 Tartan Bearer is a worthy favourite but at 16/1 I'm going to take a chance with the Godolphin horse Trincot with Dettori on board 4.20 Yep, this is a minefield but I quite like the look of Cadre which has been backed this morning so a very tentative selection at it's current best price of 8/1 4.55 Jealous Again for me also 5.30 Another wide open race to finish the day. Micky Chanon runs 2, Please Sing and Silver Games. Please Sing looks to be the better of the 2 so I'm going for that one at a decent price-25/1 with some firms.
  6. The good news is that Ervine should be fit for our 20/20 matches next week which is important as he's been in really good form.
  7. Yep but according to the Hampshire site on the ECB website he is in the squad !! Ervine is out injured as is Crawley so apparently the squad is Adams, Carberry, Lumb, Vince, Benham, Pothas, Mascarenhas, Cork, Tomlinson, Griffiths, Tahir, Tremlett Wonder if Tremlett will manage to last the whole 4 days if selected!?
  8. See my thread about Vince being called into the England U18 squad, not sure if he's available for this game ?
  9. Seems Vince has been called into the England U18's squad and will be unavailable for a month. I agree with Pothas that he would benefit more from playing for Hants as he would clearly be playing against better bowlers. Story on BBC Sport: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/counties/hampshire/8102588.stm
  10. It was in 1990 and Cameroon won 1-0 and qualified for the QF's where they lost to England. This is the incident ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ay5G5c3cCA8
  11. I think Flintoff is the key as if fit he can bat at 7 with Collingwood and Prior moving up one place in the order and hence there will no place at 5 for Bell. This gives a much better balance to the team and even if Rashid came in, probably for Sidebottom, we'd still have 3 front line seam bowlers. For the most part though the team almost picks itself since very few players have enhanced their claims albeit Onions did well v the West Indies.
  12. LOL If only that were not true
  13. I still laugh at the time Leonardo got sent off playing for Brazil v USA in the 1994 World Cup. It was one of the most blatant sending offs I can remember as he deliberately elbowed one of the USA players but Kevin Keegan who was co commentating on the game was adamant that he was "unlucky". I never was sure what he thought happened as it clearly something other than everyone else saw.Unfortunately I can't find footage including the Keegan commentary but the sending off is 2 minutes into this clip. Red card or not !?
  14. Well his horse Di Stefano finished 3rd in the 5.30 so a decent ew bet at 33/1 ( SP25/1). However, I was really impressed by the heart shown by Judgethemoment to hold on and win the 4.55. Really good effort.
  15. Not sure why Key was picked either. However, I would definitely not have opened with Luke Wright as I don't think he is good enough for International cricket. Might just as well opened with Pieterson and had Napier in the team possibly to come in at 3.
  16. Barnet v Watford is a nice local derby ! Apart from that and poor old Bournemouth having to go to Millwall it is very uninspiring though not surprising given only the "lesser" clubs play in the 1st round!
  17. Purely for the sake of the ATR tipping challenge I have made one selection in each race ( mainly tentative if not very speculative) 2.30 Cesare a good alternative to the favourite Gladiatorus at around 10/1. 3.05 This is a race I'll definitely NOT be having a bet in but just prefer Armour Propre over Scenic Blast. 3.45 Hard to find an alternative to short priced favourite Mastercraftsmen but Evasive at around 6/1 is the one I'm going to opt for 4.20 Am drawn to the favourite Canford Hills but Fremont looks a decent ew shot at around 20/1 4.55 Judgethemoment Not proven over the 2m 4f trip but that applies to a number in this race. Best price I can see at present is 9/1 and has been backed this morning. 5.30 Di Stefano Very speculative at around 33/1 but Micky Channon has won the Windsor Castle 3 times and I'm hoping he can make it 4 !

    Marseille

TBH I think the police were amongst those doing the chasing !
  19. To be fair the umpires do try to play on if they can far more than they used to. However, to really understand this you need to have sat through 3/4 days of no action to appreciate the excitement that arises if the players do get onto the pitch and even if more rain drives them off after one ball that moment stays with you forever I promise

    Marseille

Saints played there in 1976/77 in the Cup Winners Cup. I remember there was a lot of trouble after the game with the Saints fans coaches being chased for miles by hooligans on motorbikes, scooters etc; Just reading "Saints A Complete Record of SFC 1885-1987" it seems the game was as bad: After Saints had equalised to make it 1-1 ( we'd won the 1st leg 4-0, one of the best performances I have ever witnessed) "the Frenchmen lost their composure and kicked almost everything in sight. It was one of the most appalling spectacles ever witnessed in a game involving Southampton. " So good luck to you I say !
  21. Lol, well the article did say the computer has no concept of distance though it is very unfair especially when you support a team that hasn't won anything for at least 3 weeks !!
  22. Ok, India has a passion for Cricket and it's no surprise that these things have happened. No wonder David Lloyd said "Look out India if you lose!". However, as to why they go to these extremes it is hard to say though with a population of over one billion I guess they have a large number of fanatics who take it too seriously.
