  1. nice positive change
  2. Time for the manager to prove his worth, he needs to do something to stem the flow
  3. our defence looks awful, could Pellegrino have recognised this and played so defensively to try and protect the defenders, wrongly in my oppinion, best form of defence and all that
  4. I thought it had been agreed that we'd pay less per week, but the signing on fee would in affect make it the same. Money appeared to be no problem, even if Everton offered more, we could and should have matched it, we had the scousers £75m and doing this would have made a statement. The reservations about our league position and setup in general is 100% Les's fault, get a decent manager, instead of a guy doing his yts, we would have been up the league, fund decent replacements for players sold, we'd be up the league.
  5. Old Les has a lot to answer for
  6. Anyone been watching everton, palace today? Have to say Walcott looks worth every penny of the £20m they paid for him, i find it hard to understand why our fans are so concerned by a players cost and if he's worth it. It comes across like the guy who's hot girlfriend leaves him and he tells everyone she wasn't hot anyway and he could get better, when deep down he knows he's punching above his weight.
  7. Don't forget a couple of weeks ago the mirror was peddling that he had to get 4 points from Brighton and WBA, if he doesn't win Saturday then he won't have reached the target. Just hope the other part of the story aint true about Hughes coming in.
  8. I can see why he wouldn't resign, he aint gonna get another managerial role in football so wants one last pay day before he disappears up his own arse
  9. Actually I will be coming next year, no matter what league we're in, along with my daughter who I buy a season ticket for. I had a season ticket when we went all the way down to league 1 and back up again last time and won't be stopping anytime soon. I can take getting relegated, just like I could last time, if we've given it our best and we're just not good enough, then fair enough. What aint fair enough is that the position we find ourselves in is totally unnecessary, the incompetence shown from the top down is staggering and yet we all get fleeced for it. That said we have a few hours yet to get something sorted, if it all turns out good then I'll be the first to say I was wrong and the club have performed admirably. That's my 3 for today....
  10. This is the problem, I'm pretty angry about the whole situation, though will hold off for a while as anything can happen in the next few hours. We've all paid for season tickets and the club have responded by getting a trainee manager in to see if he can cut it for one of the bigger teams. Not only that they've got rid of our best player without adequately replacing him, then they've not give the trainee manager the tools to do the job anyway and we're expected to pay over £700 a year for the pleasure of being ****ed on and told it's raining. Can't believe we've all paid our hard earned for this shambles.
  11. Wait till summer, let me say that again, wait till summer. By which time we'll either be relegated, won't be coming then, or another team will be in for him and we won't get him then. Can just see Les now saying how comfortable we are with the situation as Everton, or any other team steals him from under our noses. If this turns out to be the case, then Les is truly an incompetent buffoon who needs ejecting from the club. So the club have identified the need for a pacey winger, we failed in Walcott, now Promes. We'll more than likely end up with a bench warmer from another club who hasn't been getting a game, love to see how the club spin that. They've known since December the money we were getting for VVD and yet here we are.... ******* again, scratching round for other teams cast offs on the last day of the window. This will more than likely cost us relegation, especially with the buffoon left in charge of the first team. I think the atmosphere could get toxic pretty quickly tonight should we go a goal behind.
  12. Think the club have backed themselves into a corner on this one, if he doesn't sign, whether that's because of us or other parties, the club will get the blame, if our only incoming is Carillo I think things could turn nasty at the ground pretty quickly, especially if results don't go our way. Personally I think the club have to pay what Spartak are asking, getting this player will go someway to appeasing fans and this is what's needed right now after we've suffered an entirley avoidable disaster of a season (so far), all of which looks to be the boards making through decisions. With the impending relegation scrap we find ourselves in the club need the fans behind them and like it or not signing good players, whether overpriced or not is what's needed. If we get away with it this year, then maybe next time the club are trying to be cheap, or too clever they'll have a little think.
  13. Well I'm glad that's been resolved then, I thought he was a respected poster who had a few contacts in various clubs?
  14. According to Patred on the UI he's off to Everton so I don't think we'll need to learn how to pronounce his name, we can just call him ****re
  15. Got to laugh at the 'one of the worst clubs in the premiser league' quote, I imagine there's some translation issues there and rather than being so insulting he probably said/meant that he doesn't want to join a club at the bottom of the league. That said this is where we need a chairman capable of selling the club to him, like him or loathe him that's what Cortese did, I don't know how well Les does this, but I do wonder if he just speaks to the agent and basically gives a take it or leave it message to the player. Would also be helpful having a manager with some kudos who could possibly get involved with persuading the player.
  16. I can think of a few things wrong with that 1. Big club has a bad run, takes your best player when you're playing well 2. Big club has an injury, takes your best player when you're playing well 3. Big club is below you in the league, takes your best player when you're playing well to try and disrupt you 4. You're about to play a big club, a word in a journalists ear about wanting to buy your best player next week, suddenly you have an unsettled player and maybe a sudden injury At least with the transfer window the players know that when it closes they have to knuckle down (in theory) for the next 6 months. Imagine having the vvd go on all through the season, him sulking trying to force a move, every press conference the talk about him.
  17. Think the problem is more with agents, they get a sniff that we, or any other non top 6 club is interested, they then spend their time contacting other clubs saying their client is avaialable, look club 'A' is interested, can you better their offer? The agent tells the player to hold tight as other irons are in the fire. Club 'A' has to sit back waiting for no better offers to be made available to the player, hoping their plans aren't thwarted at the last minute. It's why most deals for the smaller clubs are done at the end of the window, may as well change it to a week so this ridiculous charade isn't replayed every time.
  18. It doesn't matter what you think of walcott. Fact is the club wanted him and couldn't get it over the line, everton have roughly the same turnover as us so we should be able to compete on wages, ffp????? The fault clearly lies with who's selling the club to the player, who that is, we can make our own minds up
  19. Maybe any protest should be aimed at the board and manager, not the players, they're being instructed how to play. They need our backing right now, otherwise the whole atmosphere gets toxic. Leave the protesting till after the game, make sure the powers that be know who it's directed at. Bit unfair protesting through the game when the players are trying, they're probably peeved as much at us in what's going on.
  20. Jesus christ mush, have a day off. You sound like the type of guy who would love us to be relegated, just so you can announce to the world how right you were. Just a quick question, do you have a small penis?
  21. Could flores have turned down stoke as we're coming in?
  22. Doesn't matter about the handball, you sit back against any team, what the fook do you expect. He is so out of his depth, has no idea how to win a game
  23. Whether he's a good signing for us or not, we won't find out unless we get him. For all we know our manager might be playing the way he does because of the options, or lack of, from our attacking players (I know wishful thinking). That said as fans whilst we don't want to end up saddled with debt, we need to get over this 'dont want to break our wage structure', 'player a is not value for money' etc. Surely we should be more focussed on if he'll bring us anything, not if we'll get value for money, that's the boards job. What is starting to pee me off are all these rumours about players, quickly followed by articles talking about not affording so and so's wages. If you want good players you pay for them, doing things on the cheap is what got us to where we are right now. How can we possibly tempt players from other clubs if we wonn't even match their wages? The club should have known this, and my cyncical head says they did and it's all pr so they can say to the fans that they tried sign this player and that player but we couldn't compete with the wages. Like sheep we all seem to accept this guff from the club, allowing them to bring some matey in from someones bench who hasn't scored for 2 years and can't get a game.
  24. Hmmmm, so I would hazard a guess that one of 2 things is happening here. 1. You have liverpool supporting mates who want tickets. 2. You or your mates only attend games when the bigger teams are in town. I think you'll find that not many people will be willing to let you use their membership numbers in such a way
  25. Knowing our manager he probably wouldn't play him till April as he needed integrating into the squad, he'd have to coach more defensive duties and remove any spontaneity from his play before he could be trusted to step on to the field.
