  1. It'll be like most games, Hughes will set up not to concede, we'll do this for a while, whilst offering little up front, this will work for a while and the fans will get excited, eventually Chelsea will settle into the game as we sit back desperately seeing off wave after wave of attacks. Eventually conceding 2 or 3 goals. Interesting to hear the commentators today saying how Fulham have come out to attack and disrupt arsenal, something you'll not hear from a saints team
  2. Here's bitter for you, I hope the **** has a career ending injury, his wife ****s off with old klippity and he ends up homeless in his spiritual home smoking spice and sucking off scousers for penny a time
  3. Matip was marked, by vestergard, he beat him in the air
  4. No it ain't easy, but for starters you play players in their correct role and position
  5. Sorry meant right back, just as ****e there
  6. Seems odd why Hughes is playing Armstrong on left, when everyone knows he plays central. Gabbi up front on his own, when he's a supporting striker, not one to hold up the ball, and Stephen s on the pitch, and not only that he's playing as left back WTF, think he's lost the plot
  7. We may have spent millions, but we're still paying less than other teams like West Ham and Everton. £18m now will buy you pretty much bargain basement players, sad as it is to say.
  8. Sorry but the only person who is a new level of dumb, is the person who thinks bailing from the eu will cause some sort of weird mad max style apocalypse. The greatest motivator of people is adversity, if people are facing disaster they will pull together and find something that works. Instead what we have is a bunch of self serving politicians trying to placate everyone and will end up making things 10 times worse mark my words. If the politicians on both sides of the argument could be trusted to work together to work things out instead of screwing each other over then it would have been ok. Unfortunately they aint like that and they like to play games with peoples lives. Look what the eu done to greece for ****s sake. A whole generation ruined by the will of germany. Unfortunately weak minded people like you have been brain washed into thinking that the eu is some sort of utopia. Don't get me wrong I'd have no problem with the common market, in fact it's a brilliant concept, the problem is over time they've wanted more and more power over the member nations and instead of it being a group of nations trading together it's become a political entity, now it feels like we're being controlled by some sort of weird politburo of europe. Look at the migrant crisis, every country was warning germany about it but merkel ignored them, letting in over 2 million without any proper checks. Now her premiership is being threatened suddenly they want to solve the problem and the eu is acting, to me that looks like the eu didn't give a damn about what anyone else was saying, but as soon as germany barks they jump. Listen I'm sure you're a good guy and quite clearly our opinions differ but surely you can see that if everyone had accepted the result and worked together to make Brexit a success we would have been further down the road than where we are now, sometimes people need to put in a position where they're forced to act. It may not have been what everyone wanted but I'm sure no one wanted what's happening to our great country now.
  9. 1.The authority of the people when they voted, they work for us, who says we have to repeal anything, we can easily say we're out but we ain't changing anything yet. 2. Not it wouldn't who says we have to repudiate every law since 1975, we just say from now on we decide. Then tell them they're welcome to talk about future trade on a level playing field. 3.You telling me these countries are happy with how they've been treated, the EU isn't the be all and end all. Bmw's biggest market is the UK, you think they'd be happy with the EU closing that market to them At the end of the day we had a decent hand but our politicians totally bottled it. The EU need us and we need them, if we played our hand better it wouldn't have come to this and you know it. The EU is willing to risk lives, ireland, security etc, you really want to get in bed with people like that?
  10. Actually Brexit would have worked if it wasn't for spineless politicians and democracy hating remainers. What should have happened is the day after Brexit we told Brussels we're out with immediate affect, this would have caused a **** storm and one where our politicians would have to work together to get things done. No negotiating before leaving, just gone. Stop paying them any money we pay in, use that as internal subsidies until things get sorted. What do you think they'll do? send planes over with bombs, of course not, they will be forced to talk with us on a level playing field which is all we've wanted from the start. I know you say this would have been a disaster but you know what would have happened? politicians would have been forced to sort it out and do what they're paid for, carrying out the will of the people. Instead we have politicians trying to please all sides, well I'm sorry this was a black or white vote, in or out, what concessions would the remainers have given us if they had won. None you would have all looked down your noses at us, telling us how democracy has spoken and we should just accept it and how us little thicko racists should just disappear back into the gutters we came from. Do you really think that businesses in Europe and the UK would have accepted losing business overnight? NO, they would have pressured all parties to get things sorted as soon as possible, the politicians would be forced to act, putting the respective countries first, instead of this incessant death by a thousand cuts the remainers are trying to inflict on our country, just to prove how bad Brexit is. I guarantee that by now we would have sorted a hobbled together trade deal that works for all parties, instead of this back and forthing with Europe threatening us and May bending over to touch her toes once again. If Europe had refused to deal with us, we just bypass them and talk to the countries ****ed with the United States of Germany such as Greece, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Italy etc and invite them to make trade deals with us, offering them tariff free trade. There are plenty of other countries in the world. Remember the Irish pm was happy talking through with us until they got their claws into him. I know people like you will always have a response to anything people like me say, well that's fine, but you're wrong , with focus, determination and will from all our politicians we could have made Brexit work for all of us. But I guess that's all over now, democracy is only accepted if it's what the elite want.
  11. There will need to be rules, firstly, managers and players should not be hounding the ref to use VAR, immediate yellow card if they do, they should trust the system to do this. Secondly if they allow managers and players to call for VAR, can you imagine a manager like Allardyce or Mourinho, last few minutes of a game, holding on as the other team pours wave after wave of attacks on to them, they slow the game down by calling for VAR, killing any momentum and ending the game.
  12. Wasn't it intimated in that Solent interview that Hughes wasn't happy with how the club was run behind the scenes? That being the case then there may well be a bit of a power struggle going on behind the scenes with Reed (my guess only) trying to keep hold or claw back power. I do agree that the manager shouldn't be the only person choosing players and a director of football approach is probably best for the club, but that person has to work well with the manager on an equal footing and not try and undermine him by pushing his views as gospel and overriding the manager at every opportunity, acting as if he's some sort of guru, whilst the manager is his underling. Whether Reed is capable of this who knows, but if he isn't it's time to get rid.
  13. Don't think that's really the case, I think the black box, otherwise know as Paul Mitchell was the main reason for our success and identifying potential targets. Cortese was the catalyst of Pochetino leaving, who then came back for Mitchell, good move by the way. We probably had some thoughts on future managers and players etc, this would have been Mitchells job, as Reed said 'we always have a list of potential players and managers', I personally think that Koeman was already on the list, possibly Tadic, Mane, VVD, Wanyama etc. weren't we also interested in Ali Dia, funny how he ended up at spurs. Reed then successfully recruited them, so all credit to him. The problem is, in a fast dynamic business like football this list always needs updating, once Mitchell had disappeared and the list was getting shorter, the list needed updating, this is where Reed stepped in and decided he could do the same, problem was he couldn't. The biggest failure was in the managers position, this failure then meant the players underperformed, wonder what Koeman or Pochetino would have done with them. There are obvious gaps in the squad which haven't been rectified, the buck has to stop with Reed there. The signings may come good, who knows, what we do need though is for Reed to at least accept responsibility and learn his lessons, I don't personally think he's capable, seems like the type of bloke who blames others for his failings. For this reason he needs to move on. This is what I think has happened, or something similar. Now is the time to pay to get a decent dof, who the next manager can work with.
  14. , but there are many other reasons and mistakes over the last couple of years that you still feel the management are sweeping under the carpet. I don't think the answer to all our problems is "let's sell any player who expresses an interest in leaving" irrespective of what that will do to the quality of the team. I would have liked to have heard more acceptance that the recruitment side has not been good enough lately and that we have failed to replace players with good enough quality in certain areas. He doesn't need to name names but that would have given me more confidence that the club know they need to strengthen to bring us back up to the level that we were at. We can't just expect Hughes to do it all without the support he needs in getting the right players into the squad. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk As I said elsewhere a decent manager would have handled the situation, look at Mahrez at Leicester. Pellegrino was the wrong guy to do this. Keeping VVD was absolutely the right thing to do, in fact we should have been stronger and kept him till the end of the season for acting such an ass. He could have trained out the way with Boufal, well once Hughes got here and was able to stand up to the players.
  15. Well leicester didn't do too bad keeping Mahrez. At the end of the day the **** in charge wasn't strong enough to control the situation. We can't just accept our players will go, it'll be open season on us from every club in the division.
  16. Thanks for that, you've no idea what i read but i'm sure you're quite correct, i'm just a little old victim, not quite getting it like you superior beings. Enjoy patting each other on the back and as you revel in your magnificence
  17. Think you'll find I mentioned it in one post, then responded to your link stating the government refused to share info with him, which they didn't, they just didn't share the most top secret stuff with him. Doesn't change the fact he hasn't said anything about it as far as I'm aware, surely as opposing leader he should have responded by now, after all I would imagine he's more concerned with the country's security and its citizens' safety, than Boris acting the goat. He could even do both if he wants, but not commenting on what info he's been privvy to is pretty damning considering the way the country's being divided on this, imagine if he's seen most of the evidence and it's pretty damning on Russia, but he still doesn't come out and say, 'you know what, I've not seen everything, but what I have does point to Russia', the whole country would get behind the government, but his hatred for the tories wouldn't ever let him agree with what they've said, he'd rather let the country eat itself. Scumbag is what he is.
  18. Urrm i think if you read that it clearly says the government has shared some information with him, where's his response, where's his opinion. Oh that's right he'd much prefer to sling mud at those nasty tories. You know what i wouldn't trust him with top secret information and the government is absolutely spot on with limiting his access. He seems to have done a good job of deflecting from his anti Semitic, and anti monarchy views though.
  19. Thing is I had friends in the 80's who had Irish family, their surname was Irish and every time they went on a plane, they were stopped searched and questioned, they knew this was because of the troubles and they accepted it, they didn't see this as rascist. The communities these guys come from in London need to understand, these crimes are predominantly black on black, what's the point in stopping equal number of white guys just so their feelings don't get hurt. What would they prefer, a few hurt feelings or more dead kids
  20. Thing is that can be pretty much said about any party, not just tory. Look at Blair with Iraq, telling Bush he was with him no matter what. That was a labour government. Look at Corbyn, always against the EU, but now he's getting a sniff of power he's suddenly a little more 'ambiguous' about his thoughts. The thing with Russia is they play divide and conquer, which is what they're attempting now, Putin is a clever man and puts our politicians to shame, all of them, he's always 3 steps ahead of them, though on this he may have underestimated us. We may or may not have the intelligence that backs up tory claims, in the real world we'd pull in the suspect, in this case Putin and question him, not likely to happen. So we have to rely on intelligence, there will never be definitive proof, and I can't imagine any Russian involved will speak out, look what happens to Putin's opponents. Corbyn is playing the useful idiot in this scenario, he's a member of the privvy council, why hasn't he demanded to see the intelligence the government has, he has every right to as leader of the opposition. He could end all this speculation by looking at the intelligence and come out with confirmation one way or another, but he won't, he would rather put his dislike of the tories ahead of any national security, which is why he aint fit to be leader of the opposition, let alone prime minister. I don't know what everyone is expecting, there aint going to be any smoking gun, it will be a collection of data from different sources which politicians have to make a judgement on. Problem is Corbyn will always find a way to disagree with what a tory says and he'll convince himself he's right, his default position is opposing whatever a tory says, he's too used to being in demo mode, than being a proper politician.
  21. There's a few things here, firstly the russians wanting to be part of the investigation, of course they would, if i murdered someone, then i'd want to be part of the investigating team. Maybe we should let Ian Brady investigate the moors murders. Then there's Corbyn, as the official leader of the opposition he's part of the privvy council. He could easily get access to the evidence the government shared with other countries, wonder why he's not done this, not that i'd trust him with it. Putin is reportedly the richest man in the world, hmmm how did that happen. A passenger airliner gets shot down over Ukraine, nothing to do with us gov. Russian missile used, nothing to do with us. Crimea gets annexed, how, russian troops disguised as pro russian citizens, nothing to do with putin. Litvinenko poisoned with radiation in london, the suspect back in russia, protected by putin. Think of it. A nuclear weapon attack on british soil sanctioned by the russian state. None of this proves anything, but it should be enough to scare you, this guy will keep pushing the boundaries till you push back. All this is out in the open, imagine the ****e the security services know about which we don't. Again, Corbyn can get access to all this, but it doesn't suit his agenda.
  22. Totally agree with all of this, the media criticise us for selling players, saying we're not ambitious enough. Then as soon as we get a decent player they all come out selling him for us, stories appear about how one of the big clubs should buy him, the pundits telling anyone who will listen how such and such player is too good for liitle old southampton. I'm sure we'd love to keep these players but it's difficult when the media are telling anyone who'll listen how they deserve their chance at a big club. At the end of the day, the media are more than happy to hawk our players around for us and they love nothing more than a top team getting one of the lesser teams best player, the premier league are happy for this as they use the top teams to sell their brand, the rest of us are just an ionconvenience to how they wish the show to play out
  23. Maybe yes man is a bit of an exageration, I just get the impression that Silva would want more control over things than Reed would be willing to give
  24. Think it all comes down to Reeds ego, if he's looking for another yes man, then it'll be Hughes, if he's willing to let go slightly and look for a guy who brings the most impact to the team, it'll be Silva. Personally I don't think Reed's ego will allow taking more of a back seat so it'll be Hughes,
  25. It seems as though the club are happy at the prospect of being relegated, I can't think of any other reason this idiot would still be here. What bugs me is that I've paid the club upwards of £1000 this season for mine and my daughters season ticket and the club have done this to us, it feels like something else is going on behind the scenes and us mugs are the ones who have to pay for it. We're in the richest league in the world and we employ little more than 'apprentice' managers, we still have to pay top dollar for the privilge of watching this experiment. For the first time in over 20 years I'm thinking about not renewing my ticket. It's not about being relegated, I can handle that, even through the bad times at the dell it felt the club were at least doing their best. But now it just feels like they're ****ing on us and telling us its raining, I'm losing any trust I had in the club. They've had ample time to get rid of this *****, yet still persist. In the words of that great Ugly headline years ago. Pellegrino: hope you die soon
