What's your definition of 'average'? If it's true that a 1/3 of season tickets are being sold for £104, there's a pretty high probability that it is the (mode) average. Look, I can be pernickety too!

Now we the ups/downs are sorted, you predictions for next season
jawillwill replied to Deano6's topic in The Saints
Who the **** is Jawilliwil? -
If you go onto Google and type 'How much is a season ticket for', the suggested result which it provides, lists Southampton as it's 4th option (behind only Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea). Are Google search suggestion results given with regard to how many people have made that search before? If so, does that mean we are the 4th most in-demand club in the country (world?)?!

With the likes of Bolton, Blackburn and Wolves down and us and West Ham up, I think the Premier League is looking stronger than it has for a long time. If we just get rid of Wigan, Reading and QPR and replace them with Leeds, Derby and Sheffield Wednesday it feel like all the biggish teams are in the top flight.

You do realise that it'll be played at St. Marys, right?

Winning the Playoff Final, Is it better?
jawillwill replied to fareham saint phil's topic in The Saints
No....because I wouldn't have been able to go today. -
Nigel Adkins was first in line to buy a discount 'Official Premier League Tie' from the West Ham Megastore after they failed to get promoted. Mancini likes it.

Can anyone recommend a good watch for around 100 quid
jawillwill replied to dune's topic in The Lounge
This is a great watch. I highly reccommend it. http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/23925302/Buffy-The-Vampire-Slayer-Season-1-7-Box-Set/Product.html?_%24ja=tsid:11518%7Ccat:23925302%7Cprd:23925302 -
Have we added anyone new to the list this season? I actually think we've gained a bit of love back from most teams this season. Reading have been surprisingly nice about us. As have fans of most other teams I've spoken to. Except West Ham and Brighton. Man United - 1976 & a few humiliating Premiership results Chelsea Arsenal Man City - Won last game at Maine Road Spurs - We just dont get on Liverpool - 3-3 comeback Everton - £6m for Beattie! Bolton - Barry Horne 94th minute Newcastle 3-3 draw kept them out of the CL Sunderland - Won 0-1 in a relegation battle in their last floodlite game at Roker Park Aston Villa Stoke West Brom Fulham Birmingham Blackpool - we upset Holloway Wolves Blackburn Wigan West Ham QPR Norwich Cardiff Swansea Reading - It's a local rivalry. Apparently. Nottingham Forest Milwall - We're well 'ard compared to them, 'innit. Oh and we had a couple of dodgy pens apparetly. Burnley - Pitch invasion (our fans were a bit ****tish towards them. They were ****tish back) Leeds - Daylight robbery of 3 points by KD. Hull Leicester Watford - FA Cup semi-final Ipswich Pompey - Because we're all-round better people than them Middlesbourgh Bristol City Coventry Barnsley Derby - we let them win the play off semi-final in '07, and let them humiliate themselves the following season Crystal Palace - Fonte and Butterfield dropped a league to play for us Doncaster - We got Billy Sharp. And binned the train picture. Sheffield United - Deprived them of the play-offs on the final day Scun-thrope - We took Adkins Preston North End Brighton - Nigel Adkins made them cry Huddersfield - Despite their best ever run of results, they still couldn't finish above us Peterborough Bournemouth - Jealousy! MK Dons - Everyone hates them. The feeling is probably mutual. (JPT regional final too) Leyton Orient - Their chairman said something nasty about us once Rochdale Exeter - they don't like our kit Brentford - Something to do with ticket allocations a few years back. Carlisle Colchester Charlton - Their fans smell Sheffield Wednesday Hartlepool Oldham - We spanked them 6-0 at their place Tranmere Yeovil Notts County - Pinched Blackstock and Best Walsall Dagenham and Redbridge - we stole their style of play Bristol Rovers - Stole Ricky Lambert Plymouth - Paul Sturrock/relegated them Swindon - We nicked Walcott Chesterfield Bury Wycombe Shrewsbury - Cup ticket allocations Accrington Stanley Stevenage Gillingham Torquay Rotherham Port Vale Southend - They love us, but we've recently had an affait with Coventry Oxford Crewe Aldershot - Wannabe skates. Apparently. Morcombe Macclesfield Cheltenham Bradford Burton Albion Hereford Lincoln City - We loaned them Pulis Northampton Barnet - We loaned them Pulis Stockport County - We loaned them Pulis

Well, he'd probably be a better number 2 than Glen Johnson, that's f'sure!

Basically artificial grass. Nice to play on (no bobbles at all! Makes a right mess of your carpet when you get home after playing on it though.

He wants to stay at Celtic so he can play Champions League football. With Celtic he'll almost certainly only have the opprtunity to play in 6 Champions League games in the group stages (if they actually qualify). If he signed for us he would get the chance to play against (good) Champions League opposition on 8 occasions, guarenteed - as well as 3 other clubs who have played in the competition fairly recently (Chesea/Spurs, Liverpool and Newcastle), and a few teams who have done well in the Europa/UEFA cup recently. Oh, and there's also a good chance of drawing one or 2 big teams in cup compeitions too. But who would blame him if he'd rather stay in Scotland with very little compeition, playing the likes of Ross County, St. Mirren, BATE Borisov and FC Cluj.

Why are we so slow at announcing ticket prices (inc season ticket prices)?
jawillwill replied to dune's topic in The Saints
They're probably waiting to see who gets promoted between West Ham or Blackpool. Assuming they bring back a tiered pricing system, it could be the difference between another Category A/Platinum game or a Cat. D/Bronze game. After all, as West Ham have been pointing out all season, they are a massive, massive club. -
Just to clarify, is this thread about the snooker player of the football player. I don't think the snooker one will be good enough.

One thing I did just notice on MOTD, is that when there was a pitch invasion, body guards/ security came running on pushing fans out the way to make sure the players could escape as quickly as possible with minimal interaction with the fans. Much more fan friendly feeling about our pitch invasion. Can't really imagine Tevez or Toure spending 20 minutes crowd surfing...

Exsctly, I think a lot of people forget just how close TW came to becoming manager of Southampton. Once again the vocal minority got their way though. I don't deny that Adkins (and Pardew) have done a fantastic job in recent seasons in getting us back to the big time, but sometimes I can't help but wonder if maybe...just maybe...we'd already have been there for a season if TW was appointed. I guess we'll never know.
-
I think you're missng the point. If his son won it would make him happy, which would exacerbate the already existing feel good factor around Southampton, and in a way, would be arguably the best thing to happen to Saints this season! After all, Britain's got Talent is a popular show worldwide, so it would be some great free publicity. The show is especially popular in America, so I imagine it'd be easy to shift at least a few thousand extra shirts over there and gain some Yank support for our re-entrance into the Premier League. Lines close soon I think, so quick! Go and vote! If you don't, you're not a real fan.
-
Apparently his son is competing in the final of Britain's Got Talent this evening. Would be nice if all SWFers supported him as thanks for all the incredible work TW did for us in the 90's.
-
While I love NA, and everything he's done for this club over the past couple of years, I think we're jumping the gun a bit to be calling him the best manager of the last 20 years. The likes of Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and David Moyes (and others!) are still streets ahead of him and have proven themselves at the highest level year after year.

Do you actually live in Dubai? It's just you don't mention it very often.

Richard Conway BBC@richard_conway Hawkeye MD tells BBC Sport that "nothing is impossible" on chances of installing goal-line tech in time for start of 2012/13 Premier League.

For my first answer, I assumed you meant our first ever Championship goal.

27? All done without cheating, so most are probably wrong...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17996534 With the news that Cardiff could have a massive rebrand and change their colours from blue to red, it got me thinking, what would you do it Saints ever suddenly decided to switch to blue? Would you accept it in return for a massive investment into the club? I wouldn't. And I doubt many Caridff fans will either. Who remembers when Flybe first sponsored Saints and their logo was put on the seats in the stand. There was widespread panic on here that 9 seats, as part of the logo, might be blue (it turned out that they were in fact purple, thank goodness!). Could you cope with 30,000 blue seats in St Mary's?

Has anyone put Junction 9's name forward yet? He's good at this sort of stuff apparently. Just make sure your bedroom door is locked when he comes round though.
