If we finish level on points with West Ham ....
jawillwill replied to Dark Munster's topic in The Saints
According to the BBC website: If Southampton draw on the final day and West Ham win but score four more goals than the Saints, their records would be identical. This would bring about a special play-off, in which the winner would secure promotion while the loser would enter the regular play-offs. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17724582 That's wrong then? Right? It won't come to that, but I'm intrigued. -
If it's 0-0 for us. If West Ham win 2-0 we'll be up. If we they win 3-1, they'll be up. I think. I could well be wrong though. Anyway, it won't come to that. We'll win, don't worry.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/17807893 Foxes **** off people in East London. Is it a sign?

We should do this in the traditional SWF way, and vote for the second best player first.

Why do we need a fake, manufactured atmosphere? It's the kind of thing Pompey did for the FA cup final. When Chelsea needed it against Barca last week I cringed a bit. The place will be rocking without anything tacky like that. (having said that, I do quite like it when they do that red and white mosaic thing sometimes for big games. Makes the stadium look good when the teams are coming out of the tunnel, especially if it's on telly)

...and going into the final week if the season we still could finish 8 points clear...idiot.

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way...

I like it, hopefully it'll get going at 'Boro. What tune is it to? -
It's just occurred to be that Spurs v QPR is on at the same time, and Real Madrid V Barca will also overlap the end of Saints match. Get the feeling, unless I can find anyone with 3 sky-boxes, I'll miss the end of the match....

I work with a couple of Nigerians. Even though they're not native to Southampton (they have lived in the region for about 10 years now I think), they love Saints and are some of the nicest people I know.

He's not being disrespectful at all. He's right. After 7 games: 1 - Saints - 18 pts 13 - Reading - 7 pts Now: 1 - Reading - 88 pts 2 - Saints - 85 pts They've won 14 more points than us since then. He's not saying the season only started after 7 games, he's merely pointing out that they've gone on a bloody good run since then. He's not saying they've won the league yet- of course he knows they haven't. He's just indirectly stating that they got off to a slow start to the season, but have some back well since then, and are now top of the league...which suggests over the course of the season (so far) they have been best. I'm a firm believer that the table never lies. I'm sure when we went on our amazing run at the end of last season Nigel said something along the lines of we'd been best since Christmas. Which we were. We were still runners up to Brighton though. Anyway, lets not get upset about it. We're not up yet. They are. But we've still got a lot of hard work to do, and can still have a chance to prove to ourselves that we are better than them if we win our next two games.

Congratulations to them. Lets hope they go on a 2 week bender to celebrate.

http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/20-seasons.html He's got 2 nominaions in the top 10. I voted the Newcastle one. Obviously, I also put him in greatest team selection too. Saints aren't involved in any other categories though.

It's my brothers wedding (which I'm best man for so probably can't really miss) during the semi-final second leg. And I'm going away on holiday the day before the final. All irrelevent of course, because we will go up automatically. (Please, Saints. Please. For me...) COYR!

TNS or Celtic/Rangers.

We can do it. We will do it.

Incorrect.

It'll pick up again in a minute when everyone in there has stopped posting on their clubs' respective internet message boards.

Sometimes when I go to the football, I like to take a good book along with me for half-time/when nothing interesting is happening (during throw-ins etc.). Does anyone else do this?

That's it. Season ruined.

Most of them are probably at Fratton Park though.

It'd work better if Jos rhymed with house. Or defence rhymed with street. Or Jos rhymed with defence.

Slightly of topic I know, but here's his reaction to Sharp's second goal at the weekend. [video=youtube;oS1SEy-nlVo]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oS1SEy-nlVo&feature=related
