No more free season tickets for blind supporters
jawillwill replied to ecuk268's topic in The Saints
I watched a documentary about blind supports at Arsenal once (I think it might have been part of Football focus or MOTD actually). At the Emirates, they are given a set of headphones and fed live radio commentary of the game while they're watching it, aimed especially at visually impaired people. Do they do the same at SMS? If so, surely this actually cost the club more money than the average fan? Either way, while I'm sympatheitc that they're bilnd, unfortunately I don't see why they deserve free tickets more than anybody else. Concessions, yes. Free, no. -
Well, it's happened. http://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10335~2798585,00.html

The only reason I went on the pitch after the Coventry game was to vent my disgust at the lack of transfer activity since we had been promoted.

That's only because they've gone to get in the queue for season tickets early.

I'm not exactly Barlow/Take That's biggest fan but I don't really see where you're coming from. How would you define an international music superstar? The Beatles only "sung a few songs" too. I'd have thought that's a fundamental requirement to being a global musuc superstar. Gary Barlow is the lead singer, and chief song-writer, for one of the most successful bands of all time in terms of the number of records sold, and has spent a bloody long time in the charts with various songs in a musical career, that so far has spanned over 3 decades. Surely all bands are "manufactured" in some form. Barlow was chosen to be in it because he was talented. As for appearing on "****e" TV programmes, I think he was on X-Factor and this Jubilee thing. I haven't seen him on much else, but those two things, whether you like it or not, are hugely popular programmes worldwide. As for Cheryl Cole, yeah I suppose I agree with you. I think she's got where she is on looks. Fair play to her though, I say. If you've got it, use it. But if you don't like either of them, just turn the channel over when it's on.

You know, these pub quiz threads don't really work if you give away the answer in the opening post. I've got a question for you all: Which former Saints player will be making his full international debut for England at Wembley tonight? The answer is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

More or less the same every week for me: Mondays: Beans on toast Tuesdays: Cheese on toast Wednesday: Marmite Sandwiches Thursdays: Pizza (type varies) Fridays: Corn flakes (I get in late on Fridays so don't have time to cook) Saturdays: Take-away (weekend treat: Usually fish and chips. Sometimes Chinese) Sundays: Roast dinner (frozen ready meal with Aunt Bassies- or whatever they're called- Yorkshire Puddings).

If a 'stit' is a cross between a stat and a load of '****', you're right, because I completely made it up. Having done a bit of research though, in the 20 year history of the Premier League, only 3 teams starting in 13th have gone on to go down. Middlesboro' (in the first season), Man City and Newcastle. Still, that's probably better than most other starting positions, right? Ok, maybe not.... I dunno. Speaking of being officially Premier League. Reading's OS ran this story yesterday: http://www.readingfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10306~2794792,00.html There's also another story about fan getting the Premier League logo tattooed on his arm. He's going to look like a right bellend a few years down the line. I'm glad our OS would never publish anything that cringeworthy. http://www.readingfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10306~2794848,00.html

It's just occurred to me that we will be starting the season in 13th place due to alphabtical order. Uh-oh. Although, having looked back through the last 10 seasons, the team starting 13th has never been relegated.

Why did you feel it was worth starting a thread about it on the internet then?

And maybe Gary Hooper....

http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/oddballs/900340-robert-mugabe-reveals-hes-a-chelsea-fan-following-champions-league-win This is the kind of thing we should be hoping for in the coming years! -
I've e-mailed this one to the BBC to get John Motto's stattos on the case.

Most of the ruturning fans are a bit ugly. So I haven't come across many. -
That table doesn't take into account the fact that some teams always appear to get given a bit more injury time than others.
-
I got all the ones from when we were in the Premiership but missed the vast majority of the last 7 years (although I knew a few of this seasons lot because I went to the Coventry game).

I quite like it (apart from the terrible video). It's better than the "official" EURO 2012 England song sang by Chris Kamara. [video=youtube;GBs-VjRfiWg]

Owen Hargreaves was on one at Man City...

Speak for yourself. I'd actually suggest that in everyday use, mode average, even if you don't call it the "mode average" when your calculating, is the most used method of averaging. Controversial, I know. But that's just what I think. Also, nobody has said £104 is £100. He said "around £100". P.s. For the record, I have no idea, other than the evidence given in this thread, what Bayern's season ticket pricing structure is.
