Yes, I agree he would be an exciting appointment, and don't we need some good news. My point was that Glasgow's bald statistics comparing MP and RK are misleading and not the full story. RK does have the better record as things stand but he has had considerably longer to build the CV. In time I expect MP to be managing better clubs than Spurs.

nn How about a bit of context, Glasgow. MP with a stint at a selling club in Spain, relying on youngsters ultimately and a little more than a season at Saints where he had us playing some of the best football seen in the Prem. The other with multiple opportunities at the strongest clubs in the Netherlands and Portugal for a considerably longer time frame. You may have changed your moniker but the rest is relentlessly the same tripe.

Lovren, Morgan and Vic are the worries for me.
-
How is it this Glasgow Taint is able to come back under a different badge and continue with his made up, inflammatory drivel?
-
Removing the emotion of losing SRL it would be astute business, provided that did not pave the way for AL, DL and co. to join Sir Ricky Merseyside.
-
Hey Glasgow you claimed Spurs didn't want MP. There's egg on your face amid your excitement.
-
Whether a certain "Glasgow Saint" still exists on this forum or not, his irritating and mostly inaccurate contributions will be remembered by one of his last posts...."Spurs don't want MoPo" ..quite an epitaph. Don't hurry back.
-
One of the things about Poch I think we will miss greatly is his great hands on coaching as well as his Managerial skills - fairly rare among top flight gaffers; usually one or the other.
-
Didn't he have a quick visit to QPR as well? Has a better record off shore than home.
-
I wish I could see the exciting future for JWP that many on this forum believe. Neat and tidy player with a much improved dead ball and crossing set of skills. After nearly two seasons at Prem level and turning 20 in November, I can't see the predicted glittering career being fulfilled.

pure gold.

Farewell Guly; a great four years at the club, and obviously well liked by most. That goal on the turn against Blackpool will live long in my memory.
-
This is a good point. One of the things MP did so well last season was maintaining a high standard of play with a wafer thin squad and much involvement from several academy lads who weren't ready or may never be. No wonder he would look for assurances about strengthening the squad before re-committing.
-
If all are on board and fit next season what about some serious rotation to keep all four involved and happy, with the inevitable knocks, suspensions and drop-off in form eventually easing the selection dilemma. One of the surprising parts of Wanyama's game yesterday was the quality of his passing and distribution - with Davis and Cork so good as well it was a strange thing not to miss Morgan's absence.

Ralph Krueger - post-match comments in hospitality suite
austsaint replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
Interesting comments - from my vantage point, Les Reed is not an inspiring person to have as Head of Recruitment, Transfers etc....he has managed to "hang in" without too much scrutiny while Pardew and Atkins have come and gone as Managers. Maybe it's time for Katharina and Ralph to question the continuing role of Reed. -
Most satisfying win of the season, and looked so comfortable in the second half. Terrific games by Clyne, Wanyama, Davis, Cork....CBs solid all day; Luke good. I don't think Vic missed a pass all day and the combination of he and Cork worked out so well.
-
Vic, Corky, Clyne and SRL all good. Can we hang on? Would be great if we could score a goal of our own. Adam needs to lift.
-
Fair enough; that's a shame, it would be a great finale to a good season to see Morgan facing up to Man U. - but it still begs the question about JWP; has he done enough to continually be selected, yet produce mediocre performances?
-
I know Morgan is likely to miss but can't we do better than starting with JWP? I realize he is English, young, photogenic, speaks well, and has a tidy dead ball delivery but having had nearly two seasons of many opportunities at first team level I cannot see the future many predict for him.
-
I don't know how much the Beeb pay Lawro for his genius columns but it's not enough is it?
-
VW looks good today. Still can't see what JWP brings to the side; I'd replace him with Chambers or Reed.
-
Feel sorry for the lad; but the truth is, he is never going to cut it as a Prem GK. Should never have been in the position of having KD and Gazza as back up for AB.
-
Saint Charlie, thanks for these comments; they fit my ideas too. MP has done a great job with a squad which is lacking in depth. If he wants to stay and isn't given the chance I'd be astonished a nd seriously ****ed off
-
Completely overrun in the second half - our midfield was lightweight. There has to be a serious conversation soon about JWP; coming up to the end of his second season at this level with plenty of game time and from my vantage point provides very little.
-
Hate to sound negative but why are you glad to see JWP back? I hope he proves me wrong and plays a blinder.
