You make a good point with your last sentence. Ideally you want someone wide with pace who can exploit the space and deliver a good cross (aerial or across the carpet). The closest we have is Bertrand - perhaps Tadic from the left, although he's not particularly quick and Boufal, who I still think is better with a licence to be more central. Cedric has every wide, fast attribute but his crossing is hit and miss. I can see why JWP is played out there for the delivery and goal attempts when he hustles into the box; what you give up is the lack of real speed and width, and marginal defensive cover.

No, in my book Reed get's a belated chance to redeem himself by booting Pellegrino, appointing someone like Silva and getting 2 or 3 quality players in. If that happens and we are still relegated then Reed will be canned for dithering but he will get some credits for doing something decisive at the 11th hour.

It would give the majority fan base (and probably the players) a huge boost, particularly with a couple of quality signings. Would Silva want to come here though?
