One of the differences has been Shane Long showing dash and control down the flanks and providing JWP with two side footed opportunities to score, the second via Tadic from Long. I hope this doesn't mean Pellegrino is off the hook.
-
Hojbjerg immense - Romeu good as well.
-
Absolutely.
-
I'm a JWP critic, but that was a cool finish - Long did JWP's job down the right, and Prowsey did Long's in finishing.
-
Yes, I grant you Cedric is good bombing forward with pace and width, even if his crossing is hit and miss, but what value does JWP offer with Cedric? We don't get the run and interplay Boufal and Bertrand offer on the opposite flank. So I'm saying let's team up Cedric with someone like Sims - more pace and width and plenty of run from both.
-
I'll take up your question about Sims. I see him playing wide right where JWP has been playing regularly - without much impact in my opinion. Sims would add pace and width which we get with Boufal and Bertrand, but don't get with JWP and Stephens/Cedric. Do you really think that passage of play at Anfield resulting in Sims playing in Long to wrap up the game didn't stamp him as PL ready?
-
I'd like to see him in that right wide spot JWP has been occupying. Hesketh could also be effective playing in and around Gabbi and Boufal with protection from Lemina and Hojbjerg. It's a bit of left field thinking (or right in this case) that's going to free up our turgid attacking play.
-
I think he could have included Long, Tadic, Davis (decline related) and Ward-Prowse in the under performing/not-good-enough category. Interesting to note the comments about Boufal being sought by other Clubs; I'm not surprised - he would be much more effective with better attacking team mates.
-
So would I. And with the money we would save - sack Pellegrino, without further delay.
-
I like your line up......Pellegrino won't select such a side, but I think you are right.
-
He does try his heart out - it's just not good enough, and the perseverance with him strikes me as one of the reasons we are in relegation trouble.
-
Very weird post. Pellegrino will never be an elite coach.
-
I don't disagree; but how do you rate Ward-Prowse? He strikes me as the repeat underachiever in our midfield for the past 5 - 6 seasons.
-
May not be the ONLY answer. Would have been an excellent start though - getting rid; I say would have because it's almost seeming to late to arrest the contagion.
-
Dislikable: Tadic, Redmond, Forster (because he's so bad, and so well paid), Austin. Likeable: Romeu, PEH, JWP (not because he's a good player), Yoshi, Targett, Bertrand (arguable).

Let it go, let it go Can't hold him back here anymore Let it go, let it go Turn away and slam the door.

I thought Joe Allen must have re-signed.

I just want our Manager to become a defector.

Quite, Salah is top drawer as well. Mane looks a fairly relaxed bloke to me - probably good competition.
-
He's not a fraud - he's a contrarian, with a few good words in his vocabulary. It's sport to him - he is likely a serial contributor to "letters to the editor".

Would Reed be that worried about his reputation? At 66, and after a protracted period at SFC where he has both lined his pockets and accumulated disproportionate power he has got the superannuation nest egg and the grand kid's inheritance all wrapped up. When he does go, either voluntarily or at a time when he actually becomes accountable to someone, he's off into the night - he is hardly on a career trajectory. And as for the other buffoon, Kreuger, he will retreat to North America somewhere overseeing some hockey franchise.
-
As much as I loathe Liverpool, Kreist almighty Mane is an exciting player. We got such a spark from him while he was here.
-
I've marked your words Mark! The Kreuger interview, accurately described by Guan as "tone deaf", is the most deflating event of the past season and a half - and that's saying something.
-
Stats are one thing - but watching the game it was apparent WHU played with much more desire and organisation than we did against Spurs.
-
This stadium revamp / improved customer experience.

Made me laugh...briefly. Situation isn't funny though, is it? Those Kreuger statements still have me bemused in their misreading of what's needed NOW.
