Blackmore tweet On not signing a player yet in this window, #SaintsFC manager Ralph Hasenhuettl said: ‘We are still in the market and in the market especially for full-backs’

Southampton would consider allowing Vestergaard to leave in January https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/18147846.southampton-consider-allowing-jannik-vestergaard-leave/

I know he's had lots of injuries but has he played at all for the stiffs? I'm sure if we're at all interested there will be people in-the-know wrt his fitness. He certainly doesn't fit the recent Southampton 'model' of signings but maybe that's out of the window anyway now.
-
Egg won't accept any arguments made unless he see's video footage of Krueger or Kat swearing 'promises' on oath. He's dismissed everything so far as it's either too long for him to read or the goalposts have moved and any 'misinformation' is only allowed to relate to transfers.
-
It was relevant to the question I was responding to. On the topic of transfers it was very clear from several of Ralph’s interviews last summer that he thought he was getting players in. And I don’t include Danso as one of them and I’m sure Ralph wasn’t referring to him either. Of course there are many reasons why these may not have come to fruition but 100% Ralph thought he was getting personnel.

How about Kat telling us that Gao would take us to the next level..
-
I'm sure he had his reasons why he used a particular sub combination.

And it seems ‘the idiot’ is our goalkeeping coach Andrew Sparks https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/01/01/jose-mourinho-brands-southamptons-goalkeeping-coach-idiot-spurs/

Tomkins was his man but no doubting the improvement whatsoever.
-
Blotted his copy book with their goal though.
-
He’s not that great. Same with Cedric. Flip a coin for whoever plays. He’s got a ‘virus’. Cough.
-
Didn’t Ralph say that Obafemi would not be playing due to them managing his body conditioning to prevent more (hamstring) injuries?
-
And of course you’re are spot on. It was the great goal that wasn’t quite. The opposition made the key pass.
-
Yes, a shame you’ve felt the need to post this sh1te on an otherwise positive vibe thread.
-
Kante wasn’t it? A shame that it takes the edge off a brilliantly worked team goal.
-
He was a mile better today than at Villa. The back four were a tight, compact and solid unit. Words you don’t normally associate with us. Cracking defensive performance and throughout the team. It was the pressing and closing down style we’ve been expecting and waiting for. Great job Ralph.

Don’t let stats get in the way of opinion please.

We don’t have the luxury of carrying players while they learn their trade. We’d be rock bottom without Ings’ goals. Maybe if / when we climb the table or Ings is out for whatever reason then there could be the time for Adams to find his feet and more importantly goal scoring touch. Until then he’ll have to work hard in training and maybe get a game with the U23s to get his confidence up and be ready when called upon. It’s a tough life but there you go.

Stephens has no pace and struggles to find Jan with a 5 yard pass more often than not. Quite why anyone would want him in midfield is a mystery. Maybe trying to shoe horn him in somewhere just for the sake of it?

Aston Villa 1 - 3 Saints - FT - Reactions and Christmas Cheer!
Greenridge replied to Heisenberg's topic in The Saints
Villa were absolutely dire. Surely that can’t be for debate. Our defence won’t have an easier ride this season than what the opposition forwards offered. -
Apparently interested in loaning Chelsea’s 19 year old CB Marc Guehi https://apple.news/AkJDJQTVsQHSuEjleaUIkXQ

Agree with all your points. Having just watched the whole 90 mins on Sky Game of the Day I’m struggling with the Stephens love-in as well. I wonder if his admirers today actually saw the game. Whilst he played better than normal that’s a really low bar and plenty of mistakes that really kill his game and would have gone punished by pretty much every team other than the hapless Villans who were shocking. -
He’s said the same in the past, to the point of indicating they were going to happen but didn’t. Let’s hope the club support him this time.
