  1. I hope it's not the same guy we had over the line at the start of the window. That would really be a short stint with us.
  2. If you say he is that’s grand. At least you expressed an opinion rather than 40k’s worth of ‘textbook’ ‘tick’ ‘pot kettle’ and other mind blowing contributions. Like all (most at least) he’ll have good spells and ‘shyte’ spells. I’m pretty ambivalent towards Cedric but most of the arguments supporting this transaction are about as concrete as a bowl of jelly. He’s gone. We move on.
  3. The same Cedric that’s been one of our best performers in recent weeks when it was already the case that he would not be here next season? The same Cedric who would also want to finish the season with a flourish to get himself in the shop window a la KWP
  4. The money we ‘made out of it’ is likely to be less than one league position prize money. As for KWP staying that’s completely subjective. If he doesn’t turn out to be the player we hope he is then we won’t want him. If he plays well he’ll be in the shop window and open to interest from any number of clubs.
  5. Looks like Ryan Bennett of Wolves is on his way to Leicester which probably signals the end of any Vestergaard interest I would imagine.
  6. That's great to hear and long may it continue. Aside of strains etc which you mention there are the more serious types of injuries which we've fortunately avoided and these are often down to bad luck rather than the condition of the player. Anyway, it's been a fantastic year in that respect and thankfully so.
  7. I don't think we should put any scenario beyond possible. We've also had an incredibly low injury loss this year which you would think we would struggle to sustain till the end of the season.
  8. There seems to be zero dispute that, according to sources close to both Arsenal and Southampton, that the £5M number includes wages, agents fees and bonuses. It is not the loan fee being paid to SFC by Arsenal. You don’t have to accept that of course. That is your prerogative.
  9. You won't be surprised to hear that MLG already pointed out the error in the Transfermarkt's contract duration data! Mind you, £20K pw? I didn't think any Prem 1st team players were on such 'paltry' money.
  10. + KWP - ‘too early’ ref Ralph / Blackmore
  11. I think it’s likely he’ll be on more than £50k pw but even so, as you suggest, it doesn’t quite add up. What is for sure is we are not ‘getting’ £5m from Arsenal for him. And we have the net impact of fees and wages for KWP. All-in-all it’s neither here nor there in financial terms in the grand scheme of things. It’s also a player-for-player so no squad strengthening either.
  12. Calm down and read the reply properly. No one is saying he won’t improve but he’s unlikely to have improved in the time he has been out of the team with a virus, not playing or even training which is what you suggested.
  13. Double-post
  14. It’s been widely published from media outlets close to SFC. Unlike some I don’t make things up and certainly don’t claim to be ITK.
  15. We aren’t getting £5m for Cedric. There’s a loan fee of
  16. See if Valery has improved while being out with a 'virus' and not been playing? I'll give you one thing, you are definitely a glass half-full man!
  17. I think he meant Shane Long.
  18. According to Transfermarkt it expires 30.06.2020
  19. You don't think we are paying a loan fee for KWP and his wages?
  20. He's due back on 15/02 which pretty much coincides with the winter break.
  21. He’s obviously pulled the wool over a hell of a lot of managers and influential football people to get where he has today. He’s lucky he didn’t come across you to block his career path. He’s got to be thankful that this Arteta fella doesn’t know squat about football too.
  22. Quite amazing then that he’s played more than two hundred games across the top leagues of Portugal, England and Italy. Has represented Portugal at every age group and won the European Championship with them. Who’d have thought.
  23. No it’s not. The ‘£5m’ includes the net offset of us not paying his salary for the rest of his contract. The Telegraph (the clubs mouthpiece) are reporting the actual loan fee element as being less than £1M.
  24. The frustration, as a fan, is yet again the Club thinking we are all stupid and will fall for their ‘we got £5m for an out-of-contract’ player waffle.
