What a crock! No UK government "listens and responds" unless it suits them. Was the outcry from the people over the banning of hunting or the marked increase in the cost of education anyless than that over the selling off of forests? Was the forestry sell off really on the agenda?

Agree that Hargreaves is a class apart from Batty and Bowyer, but you know what I mean, a busy little basket in there breaking play down. Found the Chelsea lad, Josh Mceachran, came on against Spartak when the game was won after 60mins. Only 18 or 19 but looks a very decent prospect. We definitely need a more fluent formation than 4-4-2.

With the coming of age of Jack Wishere I think it is time to start building the England midfield around him. For me this means the likes of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard are no longer automatic picks. Both have been excellent for the England cause but now is the time for Fabio to grow some and have Wilshere as his first name on the sheet for the midfield. What I don't want to see is Jack being asked to play the defensive midfield role, he is far too good a ball player, finds space so easily and a great awareness for a forward pass. The DM role should be undertaken by a horrible little s**t in the mould of a Batty / Bowyer / Owen Hargreaves type. He has to be mobile, adept at breaking play down and retaining possession. Any ideas? Milner is probably the closest we have but he wont get the opportunity to play that role at City. Can't remember the young lads name at Chelsea coming through, anyone? My midfield would be Milner / A.N.Other in the holding role, with Jack ahead. Alongside Jack, Theo or Lennon on the right and Ashley Young on the left.

Did Villa have a knock? Because that substitution seemed odd to me and handed the advantage to Arsenal.
