FFS if it's not paedophilia it's the EDL... you attach an emotive subject to an argument that you are unable to debate reasonably. Why would I applaud the EDL? I've seen first hand what the EDL are capable of, no reasonable action group should act violently to innocent by standers.

Sadly you don't have to go back generations to find people that find homosexuality disgusting. Some might say that your labelling homosexuality as "fashionable" would put you in that camp... a collective term rather than a characteristic! The abuse of children will not be tolerated, I would put my life ahead of allowing that to happen as would many.

Does tolerance = more crime, violence, teenage pregnancy etc etc? What is your point? My relationship with God is personal to me. I do have a faith but a faith that I question. I see that as healthy and why I am comfortable with believing that religion and faith need to progress with society. My faith is not a set or rules but a set of values. As you brought it up, last Christmas and the previous four christmas' I have volunteered at a local soup kitchen which is run by a multi faith organisation. I hope to do the same again this year. I have no need to "work" this Easter, last Easter I disappeared to Munich for the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

Gingeletiss is actually incorrect. Same sex couples have been able to apply to the adoption authorities in this country since 2005.

According to the bible, homosexual acts are immoral. I'd like to think that as a society we have moved on from that, maybe some knuckles still being dragged in certain places.

So what are you saying Hypo? Couple of straightforward questions to help you out here: Do you think the child is not safe in the care of Elton John and his husband? Do you think the child will not have sufficient love and care given to him by Elton John and his husband?

Sorry but his actions do matter. You clearly believe that his actions matter as you are willing to write him off as not being a deserving parent due to some of his actions in the past. Obviously you focus in on the negative to back your claim. I'm not discounting those points but even on their own they are not worthy to disallow him from being a parent. Are you suggesting that Elton is likely to beat this child up? If he laid one finger on that child I would support the law in acting accordingly. What you are still to firmly establish is why he should not be a parent to the child.
