It's their model, when Bissouma broke through about 4 years ago he wouldn't have been as good the previous CM, he was slowly brought on over a season before he established himself as the first pick CM. Mwepu looks a real force, potentially better than Bissouma and definitely better than your example of Diallo. Bissouma was always going to be sold this summer, they've kept his market value high by playing him when fit and bringing through the likes of Mwepu, Caceido and Mac Allister to replace him, that's clear to see and for clubs like Brighton and us is the best model to follow. Planning doesn't equal success, but a good plan gives you the best chance of succeeding. If we finish above Brighton we will have had a remarkable season but I just can't see that happening.

Losing Cucu after 1 season has probably surprised Albion as has the ridiculous amount they sold him for. I can also see Trossard being much more influential this season.

Bissouma’s replacement is already in the squad, so it is fair to say their planning is better than ours. Likely to be Mwepu but Caceido looks decent and Mac Allister played that role well last season too when asked.

I said there were 3 changes to the spine in the line up provided by another poster. I didn’t say we’d improved because no one knows. The proof will show itself in the coming months. Again, we are potentially better than last season. Anyone who categorically states we are better or worse than last season is a fool.

The international kid keeper who clearly has a bright future. Who is pretending we’re better than last season? No one truly knows. If the new signings do work out I doubt that will be from day 1. Patience will be required.

Last seasons attacking options still took them to a top half finish Bissouma’s replacement will emerge from Mwepu, Caicedo, Mac Allister or Alzete. All have Premier league and international experience. They will need a left back and as with most teams they would sign a 15 goal striker if they could. Brighton’s planning is infinitely better than ours, their squad looks a lot stronger than ours.

Having watched Cucurella a lot it is fair to say he's had an excellent first season in the premier league, predominately played as a LWB and when needed a LCB. To adapt so well and improve as the season went on shows he's clearly going to be one of the best in the league. £50m is too much at this stage but I suspect that is driven more by Brighton having already sold Bissouma, the length of contract Cucurella has left and the "unknown" of how good he could be. Feels like a classic, he's not for sale unless you pay way beyond our valuation.
